i used to play chess with the best player in my state, and he would often play down to a queen and a few pawns, then win. i was such a low Elo compared to him, he shouldn't have even been playing me so he considered it an interesting challenge to win with as few pieces as possible. he would also often sacrifice his queen for no reason right away lol

TAKE IT SERIOUS! definitely go with the build a deck idea that'll create a suuuuuper diverse encounter between every match if you go like a dead by daylight thing where characters have a set amount of unique cards that if you use the character or the cards enough you can use them on a different character and create like a mix up of moves man I like this has got my creativity juiciiiin XD

Love the direction this is going. For the animation blending you can use Playables instead of sampling the animation clip, create a PlayableGraph, turn two animation clips into AnimationClipPlayable, and feed them into an AnimationMixerPlayable, and then into an AnimationPlayableOutput that targets an Animator. Adjust the weights on the AnimationClipPlayables between the mixer, and you've got interpolation. You wont need any resting poses this way, and you won't need to worry about animations not lining up.

This seems incredibly interesting. I really like the concept and presentation. I'm an active fighting game player and play multiple games at a High level in tournaments. I haven't tried your build but here are some things I'm concerned about: -Turn Based Style (I actually don't mind this too much lol. I think its weird but there could be a genre for this) -Camera Angles (I think there should be a like, fixed angle so that's it's kind of hard for both characters to be out of view. Check out Tekken for what I mean exactly since I get mad Tekken vibes. ) -Netplay (Not exactly necessary and hard to implement but it'd be really cool to be able to play with other players. Unless it's in already in which, cool.) If you eventually change it to be real time based instead of turn based and want netplay to be included, please decide to take a GGPO rollback netcode approach instead of using a delay based netcode, although I believe either may work. I'm sincerely interested in this game and wait in the discord for updates. Sincerely yours, AHzdeck

It's neat to see that we came to the same solution for "cards controlling fighter" with a prep-time, an active time, and a recovery time.
