My name is Dan, and I am a veterinarian. Today I will be talking about Figo pet insurance. Figo pet insurance is for cats and dogs. As a veterinarian I see a lot of pet insurance options, so I really like to explain the different options out there.
I believe Figo does a great job with their pet insurance. They do a great job making the application process very simple and fast. A pet parent or owner can customize their pet insurance to fit their life and budget.
Figo has three options for max out of pocket for the insurance company. These options include 5k, 10k and unlimited. The 10k dollar option is the default option, because it does a great job covering a pet parent's financial needs even if there is a really big medical expense.
As a veterinarian I do feel like the 10k option is a really great option. When a pet owner has a really sick dog or cat the medical bills can get very expensive and quickly. Emergency visits, specialists, and surgeries can be very expensive today.
Figo then lets the pet parent customize their deductible and how much Figo will payout once the deductible is met. The amount Figo will pay out is call the reimbursement. By allow pet parents to custom their pet insurance, the premium amount can go up or down month based on the financial needs of the pet parent.
As always, always talk with your veterinarian first before getting any pet insurance. Also, always call or talk with the pet insurance company to address any concerns you may have regarding what is or is not covered in the policy.
The goal of pet insurance is to give you peace of mind and to financial cover your pet in their time of need. Pet insurance removes the money talk, and it allows for treatment to happen when it is most needed.
