As much as I like electric scooters.. I officially can’t ride them here in Holland. Bikes, however, you can. Dus als je de scooter mode gebruikt haalt die 15-18KM/H? dacht dat ie wel 25 kon halen (op youtube had iemand de D2 (niet S versie) en die haalde 27 kmpu.

Not fully legal in the UK given that it has a "throttle" which allows it to push along without pedalling. You could probably get away with it though

@@waqasahmed939 The police in my city are pretty cool and I'll be able to use it mostly in cycle lanes anyway, so i don't think I'll have any problems. Stay well.

@@spiritof6986 You too. I've seen people with electric scooters here, and the police haven't said anything. Largely I think the "spirit of the law" is saying "Just don't be a prick" If you're in regular cycling gear they're unlikely to stop you anyway. I don't wear lycra as I have to use it for work (excluding Covid times), but I do wear overtrousers, and a super reflective jacket that I bought from mountainwarehouse, as well as my helmet and gloves. It's unlikely the police will ever stop me even if I rode an illegal bike given they see I'm trying to not be a prick whilst riding one lol! I did however buy a "Proper ebike" given I ride 13 miles to work and back

I don't like the battery size but it has a lot of good features. And I don't like the 250 watt hub. I like at least 20 mph. Does it have a throttle only feature?

I heard that having a moped mode on an electric bike is still illegal in the netherlands and a few other countries. Is there an easy way to disable the throttle? And how fast can it go on just the support setting? Is it easy to push/lift at the train station? How hard is it to get spare parts when something breaks? And does it have an eu certification?

Does Holland allow the three and four wheeled Invalid vehicles? I presume so, in UK it is absurd regarding electric scooters, 3 and 4 wheels good but two are forbidden. Being a Pulmonary Cripple, I could use an electric scooter to get up to local shops, being in a small flat the invalid vehicles would be impossible to get inside,or up narrow path, whereas a scooter would be ideal.

What do the three speed modes do, does it make the bike go faster on high mode or make it travel longer on high mode

Pedal assist mode level 1: max speed is 10 km/h, level 2: max speed 15 km/h, level 3: max speed 20 km/h. You can definitely travel longer with the pedal assist modes than with full-electric mode, but the max speed is about 25 km/h with full electric mode.

Unfortunately we both have to deal with it.. and surprisingly, our government made it even harder for companies to get the correct check and paperwork done, as electric scooters require now even more safety stuff..

Great vid! I have a few questions. 1) is the speed limiter engaged even when using the pedaling mode without E-assist? Like if i wanna go down a hill at 40kmh, will it limit it to the given speed limit? 2) i know that there is a way to remove the speed limit on D1, is it also possible on D2?? many thanks!

Does anyone who owns the bike can check something for me? What is the height of the bike when folded when the saddle is completely removed? I would like to be able to pack the bike in the baggage compartment of the plane I fly (Piper 28-181) and the door is 52x56 cm. It looks like it will be tight but might squeeze in. At the point of the highest spot there is some space from below so there is a chance it goes in. Appreciate your help!

I think it may be interesting to compare this FiiDO D2s with the fiido L2. The L2 get a 350w motor and a 20Amps Battery. This make this e-bike very "torquy" and its autonomy is incredibly good >70Km for about same weight. L2 get also a 2nd seat on the back on which you can attach a child seat or a rear bag without any problem. The price is about 700€. Both are very similar a bout the look and feel. It's a real pleasure to ride this e-bike.

Biggest benefit is that the Fiido is actually road legal (provided you disable the throttle switch)

I have both, Fiido D1 and Kugoo e scooter. For short distance I use scooter, but when it is raining or longer distance, I definately use fiido. 1st year impression is that I am really enjoying it. Some times I just go out riding because of the feeling.

Nice review, I have the same bike. Just a small correction: the battery is 280 Wh, not 250. The bike is not as portable as a scooter, although I don't consider either a last-mile vehicle with ranges of over 25 km. I think the main advantage of an ebike compared to a scooter is that the bike can provide you with some exercise (if you choose so) while you just stand on a scooter. In addition, with the bike you don't have to be afraid of the battery going flat as you can ride it even with the flat battery.
