I am so happy for you guys that you already tasted the different seafood here in Manila. One of my favorite dishes is the Adobong Pusit, my father used to buy Pusit from the Navotas Fishport (Because it is the nearest in our location) also because the fishes there are all fresh too. I've already tasted Santol, Spanish Plum, Durian and Star Apple, I like the taste of those fruits too! I am so happy you already tasted it! You guys are amazing and omg I am squealing right now because I am very happy to know u guys are here! Enjoy more of Filipino foods! Mabuhay!

btw, that's not how to eat Santol. You can actually eat the brown part. Just peel off the skin and the brown part is the sour part and you can put a little bit of salt for the sourness. the seed is the sweet part. you're welcome! :) enjoy the philippines! hope to see more philippine vlogs :D

When eating the star apples, I would suggest in using a spoon since the sap would tend to make the sides of the lips sticky. And, never rub the sap of it on your clothes cuz it tends to leave a sticky sap on it.

With Santol, you need to peel the skin cause the flesh is the Sour part while the seeds are the sweet. I don't know why your guide didn't know how to eat Santol. I haven't lived in the Philippines for 15 years and yet I can still remember what Santol taste like. It's honestly one of my fave fruits growing up and we had a tree growing beside our house so we just picked them ourselves.

Spondias purpura...Spanish Plum...loved that as a kid///...Sandoricum koetjape, the santol or cotton fruit, is a tropical fruit grown in Southeast Asia.../// star apple..Chrysophyllum cainito is a tropical tree of the family Sapotaceae. It is native to the Greater Antilles and the West Indies. It has spread to the lowlands of Central America and is now grown throughout the tropics, including Southeast Asia...p.s. you can get constipated from eating too much of that..../// .en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana) ...my favorite too but can get very expensive depending on time of year but prices drop to 30 pesos per kilo during peak harvest season....Khee did good for your first time....after Pampanga, try some Ilocano specialties and of course go to Tagaytay for the bulalo (bone marrow soup)

Ginataan (dishes cooked in coconut milk) is something you should try a lot more with other ingredients. This is an entire CLASS of dishes. I highly recommend trying the ginataang kalabasa (squash in coconut milk) or ginataang langka (jackfruit in coconut milk). Those are two delicious dishes that I've never really seen many foreigners try, but are very common staples. Same with adobo, and sinigang, and... well... most Filipino dishes really. LOL. Filipinos call dishes by their cooking _methods._ So they can vary quite remarkably just by changing the main ingredient. Adobong pusit (squid adobo) for example, is a very different dish from adobong maonk (chicken) or adobong kangkong (water spinach), etc. Similarly sinigang can be cooked with pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, and so on.

Star apple aka "Caimet or caimito" in the Caribbean. Jelly like fruit, sweet and juicy . Around your mouth could become very sticky due to the latex like substance when skin of fruit is broken. As a child ( and adult too sometimes) we used to put oil on our lips to prevent that from happening. .Both purple and green skin csimet are avaiable here.
