Indeed, they seem to. It's very ironic, considering that many of our youth (even the middle aged) are not even familiar with many of our folk songs. Mas alam pa nila ngaun ang mga awit at galaw ng BTS!
@@JanuWaray which is normal elsewhere in the world. I am happy for those who are part of locale chorale groups because they get to listen and sing classics and folks. They need more exposure.
Thank you Korea, Germany & Canada for appreciating our Filipino song. Hope the younger generation of Filipinos will be appreciative of their own folk songs. ❤
Choir masters are a tight group - especially the touring and competing ones. And Filipino choirs compete a lot. Borrowing and sharing or arrangements is not uncommon.
The NHC has been doing their part, in fairness to them. But let's be honest, most of the youth would go to MOA instead of CCP or PICC. Most would rather save thousands of pesos for an upperbox ticket of a K-Pop concert than a half-priced or discounted tickets of cultural shows and concerts. It's a matter of preference tho and we can't force them to like something they're not used to. However, we, the older generation has a duty to impart values and influence to the youth. It's not gov't's sole duty to preserve our heritage. It has to be a collective effort. We too need to contribute in its preservation. *Tara sa PICC guys, after lockdown! 😄
Parang kinikiliti puso ko Dito, pag pumikit ka akala mo talagang mga pilipino kumakanta! Grabe....ganyan Pala kaganda yang kantang Yan!!!! Ung old tradisyon natin...❤❤❤wow😊
omg made me cry the whole thing.. make me feel so proud of my root as a Filipino.. Thank you for making our song as part of yours! from the buttom of my heart thank you so much!!!❤
It's because the intonation of the Germans is very similar to Filipinos and Malays. I spoke some German phrases when I visited West Germany years ago and my host complimented me by saying that I speak German very well. :)
You know why there are so many choir around the globe singing tagalog? Its because our language has a perfect pronounciation of vowels for singing... Classical, very clear vowel and thats very important in singing
All of them are good in presenting our Filipino song Ayayay of pagibig but the Koreans ,for me ,is the most clear in thier diction almost perfect and coordinated . Nevertheless 'm so overhelmed that some foreigners already recognize our Filipino songs.
What an outstanding performance!.All of you did justice to our Philippine folk song.We would like to thank each one of you who participated in this overwhelming events.God bless you all.Mabuhay!!! From the Philippines.
I don't think it's said... it's just that through the passing of times, newer generations have thier own style of music that they can relate. But old songs are now considered classic and we are happy to hear it again at present, people becomes nostalgic and brings back memories of the good old days.
The reason other countries sing Filipino songs is because Filipino choirs have sung our songs across the world. That means we appreciate our OPM. Reason why other countries sing our songs: 1. in choir, a group has to sing a different/from another country 2. why not a Filipino song - they are usually uplifting and can be arranged for choirs with added texture.
I don't think so, it may not be famous in television. But in colleges and other competition it was quite popular. But only for those who has interest in classical music. Go deeper in music industry you'll see
It's the Koreans for me. They did the best version. Germany was like a choir of suitors asking the hands of a filipina while Canada gave us a cute version of it. Just my opinion. I love these. ❤️
because music has of little importance in the curriculum of elementary and high schools now. during our my time we learned so many songs. i was in elem in 1954 to 60, hs in 1961-1964.
For me, the German arrangement captured the spirit of the song. The song speaks about how everything becomes troublesome and restless for one who starts falling in love. That's why the arrangement has to be fast and the way it is sung makes you go up and down the music scales. And the song said when the one's longing is granted in return then the feeling is heavenly. And so towards the end, the arrangement should be rushing to a climax.
idiot..What arrangement your talking..? Theyre just singing it its already arrange by the philippine choir... The only difference is the coice of philippine choir is more higher and clean in singing that song..
Dude no need for the rush towards the end because of the modulation gives the climax you want. Listen to Philippine choirs singing they even put ritardando to enjoy the harmony. I am saying this as an arranger dude it is not all about lyrics can't you even hear the way the arranger put the harmonic tension up to the last bar of the song? There is a purpose for that.
So happy to watch foreign chorale (groups) singing Filipino songs. Too bad that here in the Philippines it's not that popular. But still I am greatful that we have choirs in our schools performing a lot of Filipino songs. We occasionally perform also at church celebrations like them too. ☺️
Having been born in the late 1940’s, after the 2nd WW in 1946, we had been taught and sang our own provincial songs based on the prevailing dialects, English version, even the Philippine National Anthem. We have renowned Filipino Song writers in Tagalog and English. In the late sixties The Beatles came to our country wherein the Filipinos influenced by the Western songs. In the early 1970’s, in the government schools, There were Choir Singing Contest In Elementary Level Contest Singing Contest Tagalog/English Versions from District to the National Level held in Manila, folk dances, too. Having been migrated to North America, the rest is history, such as the massive influx of tourists in the country and birth of social media. MABUHAY & GODBLESS our country, The Philippines, & The Filipinos In and Out of the Country & All Around The World. 🎉 World.
I like Germany and Canadam but Germany sounds like a real one but all of them are all Perfect for me. Thanks guys to all of u for singing our folk songs. Se will also try to sing ur native songs God bless to all of u and stay safe and GOD OUR ALMIGTHY FATHER IN HEAVEN WILL PROTECT US ALL FROM THIS DEADLY VIRUS COVID19 IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.
I should say its a " NO CONTEST" they all did it in excellent manner and by closing your eyes and listen to their song, you cant even tell that they were not a Filipino. Great job guys and kudos to all 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏 your Filipino fan here i had shown this to some of my friends and they all a thumbs up.
So proud that other countries sing our immortal kundiman songs. There are a lot more if they will search it. Our composers of kundiman songs back then have passion in writing these songs which still remain to the hearts of the Filipinos in every generation. Just hope they acknowledged that the songs are from the Philippines after they performed to give courtesy to the Filipinos.
Great talents from different countries singing our Filipino folk songs are a joy to listen too. Thank you very much. Respect and love from the Philippines.
These videos shouldn't be titled "...vs....vs... vs...". These are different covers and each group did their best interpretation. Celebrate the hard work to memorize a foreign language and commitment to the musical art. 👏
Trust me Philippines do preserve the folk songs. You just didn't notice and they also promote them outside of the country that is why other countries sing filipino folk songs. And dude this is not a mainstream song you will mostly hear folk songs be sang during formal occasions, concerts, choir competitions etc.
In my senior years, very glad & proud to hear foreign choir groups singing filipino songs. Thank you very much for your very nice rendition of our very classical pieces .. 👍🙏❤️🥳🇵🇭
That girl with a red dress is Filipino ,she seems to be the only one wearing a traditional dress . " I'm not saying she's pinoy just saying she might be one". 70% of the pinoys don't even know this song only our parents or grannies 😅😅
I'm so impressed on how well versed foreigners are in singing this Filipino Song when I bet filipino teenagers nowadays probably don't know this song exist
Wow!! They are. All outstanding because they pronounce the tagalog language fluently!!! Proud to be. A Filipino!! Thanks for singing our Kundiman Songs(Folk Songs)God bless us. All!!! 🙏🙏🙏🎉🎉🎉💐💐💐❤️❤️❤️
I know this ain't a christmas song but it reminds me when i was young when every house hung their christmas lanterns which is very colorful in front of their house. Then me and my friends will go christmas caroling
I am one of those Fipipino who's trying to inculcate to Filipino children the value on loving our own folk songs. (thank you to those country who have sung our folk songs. God bless you🙏).
@@mikeserrano734 when someone sing a song of another it's called a "COVER". So they are covering a Pilipino songs, they are not singing it as if it's their own. And they choose Pinoy song maybe they like the melody and the lyrics.
Not bragging, but as a former choir member here in ph, I find the South Korean version the best. There's absolutely no delay, and the entrance of each vocal group enter so smoothly and precise. The pronunciation and the tone is also well balanced and extremely clear, that takes a lot of practice to perfect, big props to them.
The Canada version sounds like they are Filipinos especially the sound (voice) of the girls.. And the Filipino pronunciation they sounds like Filipinos.
Impressive❤️ they really pronounce it correctly. The diction, the tone, melody, everything!!! I love it❤️❤️ Thank you for using Filipino song❤️❤️ God bless
IT'S AMAZING TO SEE AND HEAR A FOREIGNERS SINGING A FILIPINO LOVE SONG. THANK YOU VERY MUCH CANADA, KOREA AND GERMANY FOR LOVING OUR BEAUTIFUL SONGS. ALL OF YOU WERE AMAZING AND YOUR VOICES ARE WONDERFUL AND CLEAR. ❤♬❤♪👍♪❤♫❤♪👍♪❤♬❤♪👍♪❤
Wow, good job guys❤️💞💖. A famous Filipino kundiman song sung by foreigners 🇵🇭. They pronounced well the tagalog words.👍👍👍. I loved most the Korean group. There should have been a Filipino group who sang it, too. ❤️
Thank you for singing our Filipino Folk songs. We take great Pride with our folk songs because they are beautifully arranged and harmoniously Great. Proud to be a Filipino! God bless to all of you...
they all sing it well and really I appreciate and made me proud of my country, though I should go for Korea for their diction and pronunciation are really good we call it in Filipino "Matatas magsalita" .
Lawrence Pedrajas. The Canadians are at a disadvantage. They are kids with little exposure. The Germans and Koreans are most probably professional singers. The Koreans however have another ace up their sleeves. At 2:16 , the singer in the red terno looks like a Filipina.
ewan ko lang ang pinili dapat sana ng mga Canadians since they're the BUNSO ,why didn't they try or maybe add the beat of today's era......who knows!!!!!!but they ALL SOUND BEAUTIFUL AND IT GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS!!!!!
Thank You so much everyone for singing our song. It made my heart melt. Most of teens right now here in the Philippines are unto KPOP, that's why it made me really happy to see other nationality sing our traditional song. Thank You so much everyone.
just simple Amazing and Great singing our very own Pilipino song...I am so proud . Foreigners appreciate our song...Just love it! Watching from Las Vegas. First time to watch this...few more a while ago from different countries. Salamat Po...Thank you all.
the fact that all of them can pronounce and sing well in tagalog, that's already enough proof that they are all great and their willingness to learn of the piece. 👏👏👏
Me: Crying in the entire duration of the clip, making me hate those new generations who only loves korean pop not because of the song but because of those cute looking guys. it made me cry realizing that other countries are enjoying the kind of this Lovely Filipino Folk songs. Thank you so much! As a filipino I really appreciated. ♥️♥️♥️ Stay healthy and strong in this time of crisis we are in. :)
Pls do not generalize all kpop stans You guys don't know how much they helped me throughout my depression They hold as my happiness We love them because of who they are and not their faces I could have been dead without them 😃
I'm describing what I said, I'm not lifting what you said, if you don't know what music culture that we have just shot up, cause you dont know better about our geography in Filipino Music where they can start, and how to spread that and they learn.
They all did their nos. very well... it's not who did the best rendition but their efforts in the pronunciation and melody made them all pleasing and amazing! A big round of applause to everyone. You made us even prouder.
