omg, this was so helpful, thank you! mine was the protective film, stuck halfway out. i did change the batteries, but it was still stuck (i could close my lens). after watching your video, i realized i needed to pull a LOT harder, and wiggle it side to side, shimmying a little on each end, at a time. it worked! the protective one finally came out, and the next picture was fine! thank you!
Hey i found i solution, depending on where you film is stuck, if the film is poking out a lot, try your best to pull it out as gentle as you can. if you film is stuck inside you will have to do the steps in the video. i had my protective film stuck in my camera and 70% of it was out and the rest was stuck, i did the mistake of taking my film cartage out and trying to pull from inside the camera, and it didn't budge so i had no choice but to pull from the top. i found that even if you do it in the dark your film gets exposed anyways so best choice is to pull from the top to prevent it getting exposed. i hope this helps you.

My problem was that the picture did print, but was stuck in the roller outside the camera. None of this applied to me, BUT hearing you say you were pulling it in a zig zag motion, one corner and then the other actually got me to pull my photo out safely. Of course, the camera was fine and acted as if nothing happened after. Thanks for the zig zag tip! I’ll know this for later if my Polaroid prints the other way 😭
mine is not jammed i just added a new film and it stopped working keeps saying there is 0 film when the pack is brand new. anyone else have had this problem?
I still did what she said. I covered my camera with my clothes and removed on my own the first layer of the film carefully. 1st film was blank but after that Its all good. 😊
I forgot I even commented this lol but I reached out to fujjifilm they told me to fill out this repair form if your camera is under warranty a replacement camera is free if it’s not it’ll be 50 dollars! I got my new one few weeks ago!
Thank u this video gave me the bravery to reaaallly put force into it. It felt so wrong but it was necessary. The black sheet got stuck in my case after the very first time I pushed the button. It was because the low batteries couldn't get it all the way through

Thank you so much for making this video!! The film on my Instax mini 9 got stuck, and I thought I would either have to pay a lot of money to fix or just buy a new one! I was able to successfully get the film out! Hopefully, my camera starts working again once I get new film!
It is stuck in there badly enough that even with all my force I can not get the film canister out halfway. WHAT DO I DO. I have the mini 90 & this has never happened before (I've shot several packages of film). The leader and an exposure tried coming out at the same time.
I had the same issue and honestly, you have to be a bit more aggressive than you want to be and CONSTANTLY wiggling it. I found that once I could get the bottom component up (not even the halfway point that she had, but just enough I could get a bit out) I propped a flat head screw driver underneath and kept pulling. I was probably pulling (and with some seriously concerning force) for about 15-20 min. Eventually it came out and I yanked the film out but tbh, I thought I broke something because I heard a noise... but she's good now!! I hope you can fix your camera! best of luck
If its happened, 1st step - change the old batteries with the brand new 2AA 2nd step - open the back cover 3rd step - press the shutter button to release the jammed film then lift slightly the film cartridge at the same time. 4th step - put it back the back cover And its ready to go. Im using mini9.
omg i love you so much you are the biggest lifesaver in the universe my cartridge was stuck and i didnt know what to do it was really hard for me to wiggle it out since the protector was the one stuck but it worked omg i thought my camera broke
I have a mini 8 and I got the part that was jammed out but not the light is red all the time and I can't take a photo. Any advice? I have tried changing batteries too but that doesn't seem to work
I saw this video late. But it’s good to know for the future. It wasn’t film that got stuck but the black slide that’s supposed to cover the film that got stuck in the cam
My daughter's recently had a picture jam in the ejection slot. When I removed it, all the lights were flashing on front and the camera wasn't working. Tried new batteries without the film pack. Also tried new film pack. Nothing worked. What eventually did for me was taking out the batteries and film pack, putting in the film pack back in first THEN putting in the batteries. Only problem now is the counter doesn't advance properly, but at least it's taking pictures again.
Thank you. The protective film was stuck and I couldn't even see it from the rollers. I also jad to change my batteries (while they were only a week old)and the first film after that came out white. But the 9 other film were ok !!!!! Once again thank you
Hi, I accidentally inserted the new cartridge the wrong way and I finally got it out with a knife and I took photos but it had small dark circles. You think the camera was damaged or maybe with a new cartridge it will work just fine. I havent tried with a new one.
Can i ask a question? My problem is whenever i replace my film cartridge and put the new one then take a picture the protective film always got stuck on the place where the films goes out? I dont know what to do. Help :
same thing with mine, I just remove the cartridge out then pull the dark slide and put the film back in, the first film always get wasted because its been exposed, well I have nothing to do.

I've followed your instructions all the way to "wriggling it out in a zig-zag" but the top part wont come out (the end with the yellow tab). I think because its the film protector cover that is jammed, not the film, its extra stuck.. I'm scared to pull to hard in case I break something. please help :(
Hi....I removed the stuck film but looks like I broke the lever the holds the film...the film pack now goes on easily and when I turn over the camera it falls out meaning there’s nothing holding it..the lever is up??? Plus all lights still flashing 😭😭
I cabt get the actual canister containing the film out, I’m on an isntax mini 9 and my new film got jammed, i followed the steps but it won’t come out, the bottom cane out half way but nothing from there on
I was able to unjam the first black plastic film but when I placed the rest in, the lights are still all flashing and it is not taking any pictures :( help
Mine is Instax mini 8 , the film got stuck halfway while it was coming out. I made the mistake of pulling the film out from the outside (top) since it was halfway out.. (I did that before I found your video). Now the indicator to show the number of films is stuck between going from 1 to 0 and when I on my camera, the light detector (for exposure) does not have any red light on any of the settings However, at the back of my camera (top right at the viewing lens) there’s a flash that is consistently red. Any idea how to fix this problem? My batteries are correct 1.5v alkaline battery so no it’s not battery problem. Thank you!!

Hi, i have a mini 7s. all the lights and flash works, and i can hear the film coming out, but the film gets stuck. I opened the back and looked and it looks like the roller is not rolling. I do not know if it was because the back was open (so i can look inside) or if it somehow got disconnected. Do you know how to fix this?

I have a question. So the dark slide got stuck and I was being super rough and I broke the film, but all of the pictures that I took after had this like streaky purple look but after I like let them sit for a long time the picture developed completely black. Is the camera or the film please help...
Yes! Cleaning out the rollers always help with the streaks on the film. If the pictures are coming out completely black it could be because of the lens. Unless you mean black as in the chemicals pockets broke.
I was doing an experiment on which I used *used film with the protective layer on my cam (Sq10) and the shts jammed, I'm having doubts about forcing the film out as that could alter the rollers or break the springs inside... stupid me...what do I do?
