Yes! Matt's solo on this brought me to tears. His voice is like a warm blanket. He has really stood out to me lately, with this and Kiss from a Rose. Well done sir!
Wonderful reaction..Don’t know if it’s been suggested..But their cover of Kiss From a Rose is 💯🔥…and another opportunity for Matt to flex his soulful vocals☺️
This to me by far is their most powerful. Also I love their version of O Come All Ye Faithful. It is so hard to pick a favorite though. Great reaction!
Jeff, I really love your in-depth reactions. Matt's solo was wonderous, BUT!! Kirstie's powerful belt near and at the end brought immediate tears to my eyes. They are all incredible performers. Maybe it's just me, but I never (Well, let's say hardly ever) think Kirstie gets enough credit for her contribution. There are times when she hits a note in vibrato that makes me stand up and walk around the room yelling "OH, OH, OH" And she gets better with age. Thank you , Jeff for your in put.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - this is the best version ever of my absolute favorite Christmas song of all time, sung by the most incredible voices of our time. Pentatonix did the impossible and knocked Celine Dion out of the top spot as my favorite version of this song (still love you, Celine!!)!!
I have already listened to this rendition of Oh Holy Night by PTX at least 100x's just for the spiritual aspect of it! PTX has been touched by Angels!!
This whole arrangement is frankly, overwhelming 😂. Every time I listen to it, I find something else I didn’t hear the time before. My favorite background part is when Matt starts his solo and sings “Fall on your knees” and the Kirstin and Mitch do some wonderful word painting with “fall all all” “fall all all” and then drop down lower and sing it again…. You know- the words actually falling. Genius
It’s easy to miss Scott’s bass line when Matt’s singing lead. It’s full and rich. But when Matt drops back to bass, there’s another level of depth. Still, Scott carries a great low baritone.
Matt's solo gives me chills. Great break down and reaction. When I see your reactions you always point out things I've missed. Thank you for that! When I saw you had reacted to this song, which I think is the best one they've done for a while, I smiled to myself, knowing how much you would appreciate it. And...guess what? I was right! You did appreciate it a lot!
I appreciate your analysis. I also appreciated when you would stop the video and tell us what you expected, start the video again and be completely surprised with their interpretation vs your expectation. They do that well.
Every Christian song they bring to life is so much better than the last; do they even know the depths this reaches into the listeners soul? They all did great, but Scott and Matt still have me floored- Mitch is always perfection and Kirstie’s last note is still circling somewhere out in space…❤Their best yet!
Wonderful reaction! I'm so glad you reacted to this superb rendition of an already awesome hymn. They really put their heart and soul into this and I love seeing Matt get such a key part in this...Kirstie as well. I'm not sure, but have you reacted to their version of Seal's Kiss From A Rose? There's an incredible Vevo live studio rendition that is simply insane....you gotta check it out!
I've watched your reaction to Kevin's Fifth many times. Are you aware that the Kevin and Matt team have done Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy Reimagined? Equally amazing! This version of Oh Holy Night is beautiful. An interesting contrast in style is offered in Pure Imagination/Christmas Time is Here. It's like a warm hug. These 5 are so talented and the arrangements are fire.
I love Mitch and Scott's voices together (reminds me of Superfruit!!!) And I just love Matt's voice....so warm and rich and such a contrast to Scott and Mitch; lots of emotion in this section! - then Mitch - I love this lower register and he doesn't use it much but it sounds excellent - then Kirstie - sheesh, what can you say?! The other thing I noticed in this song is how seamlessly the lead changes and overlaps and flows like water.....just stunning.
From the film makers pov, the choice of white outfits, white lights on a black background was emanating subliminal connection to the angels singing on a dark star filled night to the shepards. Equally stunning and deeply meaningful. I appreciated the way they seamlessly switched between vocalists! Great reaction Jeffrey!
Yo m8 if you like really cool vocals you might enjoy reacting to "Jinjer - Pisces (live session)". It's a Ukrainian band whose female lead singer has the voice of an absolute angel 😍
can you hear out the young vocalists of Unis? they covered way 4 luv, dream of girls and shiny night. Elisia also did a rendition of way 4 luv, dream of girls and shiny night. would like to hear your thoughts? thanks
I’m enjoying your reaction and analysis, but the compression or whatever odd thing is happening on the audio of what you’re reacting to is really noticeable to me. Is that for copyright issues? If it doesn’t bother anyone else, I won’t mention it again.
