Always appreciative of honesty in filmmakers because yes YT content is completely different than the other job. On the camera comparison side you brought up, I personally would really enjoy watching a camera shoot out where you play to each cameras strengths and show footage. A lot of people do silly comparisons like how I made my iPhone look like an arri Alexa, which isn’t the case anyways, but instead of making them look as similar as possible show what makes them stand out over the competition. Maybe I’m the only one that feels that way though… anyways thanks for sharing your insights!
Aha it must be a first video, we be comparing cameras all the time 🙏🏾🙏🏾😊 thank you so much What’s weird about RU-vid for me is they’re bleeding into each other so much now that it’s hard to distinguish one from the other l, I’ve gotten jobs from the channel and for the channel before and even done gigs where I get double pay to post a thing on here from set
Been a viewer for over a year now, I believe I worded that wrong my fingers could keep up with my thought process. Just meant like in general with reviews not yours personally. Glad to see that you are able to earn from both avenues. Hoping to be able to do the same, so these types of videos are very valuable.
Thanks for sharing all of these tips. As someone just starting to get into more video work it's great to see where others have made mistakes. I appreciate the honesty in showing this, as most people try to hide any mistakes to appear more professional.
Ah yes, some of the greatest ways to learn & improve, mistakes and failure. We're not perfect and appreciate you giving us solid advice, I've definitely made mistakes on my part when filming projects of mine in the past! Live and learn! Leveling up from it and not letting them hold you down!
Some great tips. I'm particularly drawn to the interview question advice. I usually questions identified but often find it difficult to structure a story.
This is so insightful--though I'm no filmmaker there is so much crossover to life of a content creator. I need to be better at scouting locations--not putting pressure on myself to get everything done in a day, putting the work into my own 'pre-production' work, etc.
Absolutely! I’m totally guilty of thinking I have something to prove all the time and it made me worse for it :/ but letting go of that’s actually helped a ton!
Love seeing your process dude! For me so far the camera is frustrating and quirky to use, but I’m in love with the raw image sooooo idk how to feel about it 😂
"We have great office space to shoot in. It's an 8x10 windowless conference room with off-yellow walls and a giant unmovable table in the center. 10 minutes setup time. It'll look great on your reel!" - Clients.
