04:54 I really love clive here Other protagonists will try to calm Kupka by making him see reason But clive? Man hes not suggarcoating it, He says hes gonna murder him and call it a day
Bro immediately chose violence. No Naruto or Steven Universe. No Batman or Sora. My man went in, and we love him for it. No amount of "redemption" would ever make up for what Kupka did.
Hugo Kupka slaughtered the people in his hideaway, destroyed his hometown of Rosalith, and almost had Jill executed. Why would Clive want to reason with the guy?
@@Panimal98That's what I appreciated about how 16 treats Kupka. A lot of media will have the protagonist kill the bad guy and mope around like "I killed him that means I'm just as bad as him 😢" But Kupkas death is celebrated at the hideaway cause he was a bad man, did bad things and hurt a lot of people. Fuck those kind of people
@@arrgberother protagonists have had the same things done and even worse, and they still somehow manage to try and reason with their enemies. Clive said “fuck all that”
@@CojaGamezFuck being deep on Clive's shitlist, Kupka was on his KILL LIST! Lesson well fucking learned - hurt Clive's woman, he will mess your day up, be it himself OR as Ifrit!
i really appreciate how they took the woman goes insane because of a man an flipped it upside down for kupka. i think his VA did a super good job of capturing the rage, sorrow, and depressive state
I like how the channel named this video as "Kupka boss fight", because "Hugo boss fight" sounds like a high-class designer getting into a fistfight with Giorgio Armani at a fashion show.
The look of dawning surprise and horror as his hands fly away from him. Beautiful. For players, I know for myself at least, I had a split second of “wait, is this what I think it is” and a feeling of joy as Hugo’s expression changes. It was a nice moment of player feelings mirroring the characters feelings
Mega "you hurt her, I hurt you" vibes from Clive here. The only time we truly see Clive lose his cool. Everything from the obnoxious "I did" and "she was looong past saving" to the rage he shows when he says "no pity... And no mercy!" But it's this line; "cross you?... I'LL. KILL YOU!" It was absolutely perfect. It truly shows how much he loves Jill before their romance even kicks off properly. Best couple in final fantasy by a mile and the best written.
@@glemmstengal No open worl bs, no waste of time, more detailled levels, better polish and graphics. Also FF was linear way before X, 7 was damn linear too. It simply had one large map that connected levels but said levels were linear as well.
@@Waltersop The only bullshit here is what you say to yourself in order to convince you FF was "always linear". This is a button-mashing crapfest. A triumph of style over substance. Story is a George R. Martin rehash dumbed down for FF audiences.
@@Waltersop The weakest part of the game is the open world and side quests. Other than that the main quests are pretty good but what shines the most are the final stages and boss battles for each big fight.
Geez I love the fact that Clive was trying to piss Hugo Kupka off! And even the line at 4:43 as well! Hugo: It is time, you learned.... what becomes of those who DARE to cross me! Clive: Cross you?! I'll KILL you!
As insane as 2023 was for video games, this is probably my favorite moment of the year. Waiting for this fight was like waiting for Muhammad Ali v. Joe Frazier
“YOU GIVE EARTH-BENDERS A BAD NAME” -Toph Beifong Something Toph would probably tell Kupka, but to be honest she would probably call him a SIMP of NOT insignificant proportions. 😅
I been hearing this a lot why is he a simp for wanting revenge for his beloved I really don’t know if they were married or not but still I wouldn’t call him a simp for that
@@Shadow213. I doubt anybody would disagree with that, but she was definitely manipulating political figures for her own favor. Cid was likely the only man she'd ever really loved.
Me who did this fight in Action Mode just now learning from this combat section that the dodge prompt this player had is from an accessory: 🤯 I fucking memorized the hell out of his attacks and panicked during his AOEs to survive this fight. He never killed me but he made me pop 3 of my 4 nomal potions. Such a god damn amazing fight though!
If i would get a coin for every JRPG i played where a Antagonist loses both hands i would have 2 coins which isn't much but its weird it happened twice.
Man, Clive is a total savage. The way he delivers the lines. The voice acting is superb. He might be my favorite protagonist from any Final Fantasy ever. And this game goes into my top 5 FF games, even if it's more like DMC and less of an RPG. And i like that. Meanwhile Kupka looks intimidating, but he is totally a Tier 3 Sub simping for a whore.
I've been thinking about this for a while, and I'm pretty convinced that Hugo Kupka is based on Thanos. He's the Dominant of an Eikon called "Titan", which right there is a red flag, his appearance matches the MCU version of the Mad Titan if he was a human being and he's head over heels for a woman who doesn't really love him back while essentially being a pawn for a powerful enemy that wants to cause death on a massive scale. The conflict he excites against Clive lasts for five years, like how Thanos' decimation over half of all life in the universe lasted in the MCU, and, as the end of this video shows, he loses BOTH of his hands, so he won't be snapping any fingers anytime soon.
This time around, English really is the way to go. What superb voice work. Playing this without subtitles and just enjoying them speak is such a treat. Thanks 22 Years ago-me for always nailing my stuff in English Class so I get to enjoy this shit.
Before anyone wonders or starts with that “Press Square to the play the game” bullshit, he’s using an accessory provided in the story based difficulty allowing you to get a free automatic heads up to dodgable attacks. It is in fact, not this easy.
I wish that kupka was the only one to say Now Die!!! Because he is pissed. Clive has a calmer demeanor while being upset. Both yelling means ok a battle is going to start. If Kupka is the only one pissed then you have a fight on your hands with an adrenaline rush!!
I reckon dont use the auto evade with slide cinematic! Its too repetitive and cant see true combat. Use the normal evade without the timely focus ring like a true pro is best
@hussein6079 cause he liked someone of the opposite sex and, you know how much these "alpha/sigma males" hate that...one would be remiss not to remind them how "queer" that entire way of thinking is. Neither the irony nor hilarity of it is lost upon me.
