9:42 I waited 4 years. 4 years to hear this song in XVI, and I have to say... It was worth waiting every minute, Soken delivered another certified banger of a song. Easily one of the game's top 3 tracks.
Same hereee i got chills when it started. I was like: At last they used it! One of the best tracks in XVI and it wasn't in the game until now :) it was a good closure and a good spot to finally use it. Loved FFXVI
4:46 “Drifting in the realm beyond all knowing. Forsaken, shedding tears of glass. Now tumbling from the boundless heavens, taken. White moondrops, burning indigo!” “Leviathan, Leviathan, Endless! Leviathan, Leviathan, send us! Leviathan, Leviathan, breathless! Leviathan, Leviathan, deathless!” “Leviathan, Leviathan, restless! Leviathan, Leviathan, test us! Leviathan, Leviathan, bend us! Leviathan, Leviathan, rend us!” “Silence from the knife that softly severs Mistaken for an unsung prayer. Now rising from the soundless Deep, awaken. White fury, blinding indigo!”
@@charlie-cv5dfthey used the Baby as a form of sacrifice since he was a dominant, so it retaliated and transformed. Clive was fighting Leviathan in order to basically let the Baby release all the frustrations it accumulated over 80(?) years of being frozen in time.
This is the theme you heard on the very first trailer. You thought it was lost and forgotten in the main game. Its very fitting for this dlc since its leviathan the lost
Genuinely surprised me that they would put FF14's Leviathan theme somewhere in the fight Having 3 phases of music for my favourite FF summon is also a TREAT too. Goated Eikon fight.
I mean each of the Eikon fights have references to their FFXIV counterparts. "Control" has parts of "Fallen Angel" at the start, Titan Lost's theme has one-to-one rifts from Titan's "Under the Weight", Bahamut's entire fight is a call back to the Coils of Bahamut, Odin's has some measures that are very similar to Odin's theme from FFXIV, "Urth's Font."
@@JestahThe Titan one is very obvious once you know the section of Under the Weight it comes from. I believe it is at the 1:38 mark of Under the Weight, but the FF16 melody is literally riped from the guitar that occurs after the first vocal verse.
The DPS check was rough on FF mode, I was level 84 and had less than half a second left when I broke the shield, took a lot of tries. Glad to see they put the awakening theme into the game
Not to anyone watching the theme like most other ekion fight starts during the fight's 2nd phase. The first phase in the wave uses the standard ekion theme. I loved this fight phase 1 music sounds heroic (with a touch of pirate) as Clive is trying his best to save the kid. Phase 2 gives a sense of panic something big is coming and u don't know (unless u run out of time in which case it's tsunami and it destroys the village) Clive trying his damndest to stop the attack. The final phase yells just a bit more u can do it save the kid and Leviathan from it's rampage and pain. A wonderful send off to FF16.
An even more terrifying thought, if the eikons grow stronger as the dominants get older (cuz theres no way joshua didnt go from getting ripped open like a happy meal box by a feral ifrit to boxing fucking BAHAMUT blow for blow without some kind of strength boost)
Definitely one of, if not the hardest boss in the game but holy fucking shit what a boss it is Definitely one of the best on the game and thats saying alot cause every single one oft hid games bossees are fantastic
For me personally, it was a battle wiht which i had the most fun ever. I loved the battle, the movements, the theme. Yeah, FF16 isn't thaaaat popular, but honestly: I LOVE it.
Easily the best boss in the game for me. Sure, it's not a huge spectacle like the others, but it more than makes up for it in gameplay. It had the most challenging and fun mechanics and I wish the othe eikons were like this.
Probably the hardest boss in the game with that dps check, i have seen a fair amount of best ff streamers failed it at least once each, the stress of clearing a huge dps check in a short tine under assault and barrage is real with this one. Even the Ultima Risen dps check on Purgatory wasn't this rushing.
Yep I think forgetting that Ifrit’s square special was a charge attack is what made it so rough for me because I did it without ever fully charging that move and it was super tight. Looks like that’s the biggest factor in doing big damage and not needing to get off 3 spitflares
*Me clicking on video* Please let Through the Maelstorm be in this somewhere, its one of my personal favorite Primal themes from FFXIV (especially the Blinding Indiego version) 4:19 HEEEELLLLLLLLLLL YEAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
the only difference between normal (from what ive seen of normal) and FF mode is that levi does significantly more damage, has more health, and the damage check is way stricter (you either clock tf in and perfect it or you don't pass the check--on normal it looks like there's some room for error)
@@thelonewolf6616 how hard was it on a scale of 1-10 on ff mode I just barely beat the dmg check slightly under leveled at 1 second before the tsunami 😹
@@joeystarr1273 I can tell you. Shit was hard. Died literally ±20 times. I had to go to Reddit to discover that you had to use spitflare 3 times then deal damage with combos and Brimstone. Also finished at 1 second before Tsunami.
That shit soured the whole experience for an otherwise breathtaking expansion. Pissed me off so much I had to listen to a podcast that tears the game to shreds. Then I came back and learned burst combos (■■■🔺️🔺️) to just barely pass in time
Yea I did that in FF mode holy moly they want you to really REALLY save that flamethrower move and the other move for the end phase because wow if I did not do that I don’t think it be possible I had almost half a second left when I used it
@@Chromastone64 the pushbacks are based on both time and damage dealt. You can get through without saving both moves for the third pushback but it requires a really specific attack rotation.
did the check for the first time on FF mode you basically have to download that entire damage check 100% and nail it perfectly on the head to get it--i made it down to like the last wire then i died a couple times to raging seas :(
Did it on ff mode I literally broke his shield like half a second from his using tsunami, lol Final fantasy Mode doesn't mess around, and neither does leviathan Was the toughest boss yet
One day I'll listen to all of the Final Fantasy soundtracks and give my opinion on them but first, I have to finish listening to all of the Touhou albums
@@brandoneroza4725 i 100% agree, who knows how powerfull he could have been in his prime, maybe Clive would have needed to fuse with phoenix to take it down it it were and adult.
The dominus is an infant. Leviathan not. He won't grow neither any bigger nor stronger. Besides XVs and XVIs Leviathan cannot be compared. XVs is a more realistic Leviathan and also a goddess. XVIs Leviathan has the original model (being used in any FF) and is simple a pawn of the "god" (Ultima).
That’s because in ffxv your playing as ifrit and not human form. Ifrit just looks small compared to Leviathan but still was really huge when we were fighting him as Clive
This is exactly what the game should have been on launch, a completely insane man given the power of literal Eldritch gods to go on a killing spree to absolutely kick the shit out of a baby
Lol so uh this might seem weird but I've always felt titan was kinda tame he was the weakest one song wise in my opinion, not saying it was bad I just didn't like it myself
@@nightfoxgaming5779Agreed. I was expecting Find the Flame against Titan Lost, was dissapointed with what we got instead. At least the final phase is awesome. Leviathan gets the the Awakening theme, that's awesome af!
Still using that synthetic orchestra and choir Soken? No wonder you couldn’t get a BAFTA nomination. How is it that indie developers are using real orchestras in their soundtracks but triple A SE is still using soundboards?
I guess there are many fans of soundboard in FF community. Since it is the backbone of FF soundtracks for a long time. It kinda gives a nostalgic 90s feeling a lot of fans grew with. Usually you will get the orchestral version at Distant Worlds anyway
Stfu and enjoy that fucking melody. This man is already full of work, and he never stopped even while battling cancer. He has every right to produce however he likes. Also, how the fuck is that Soken's fault? Do you think orchestras grow on trees? Maybe you should blame Square Enix for that.
Also, the choir is real at least for the entire vanilla game. Every single voice is literally in the credits. This and Omega theme's are synthesized, but I'm not even sure to be honest.
Get outta here with your elitism. It still sounds incredible. Soken is a maestro of creating melodies and leitmotifs and weaving them into the narrative. The BAFTA awards are genuinely a joke. They are really out of touch with games. They gave game of the year to vampire survivors 2 years ago. And on the other hand, the gaming awards with merity like TGA literally gave Soken the award.
