Ultima is like me. If i would raise like an ant colony and suddenly realize one of the ants compares with my strength and intelligence, i certainly would freak out like him.
I laughed out loud when I saw his name in the credits. Like I was thinking he felt like and sounded a lot like Z from Xenoblade 3 and I was like no fucking way
@@FelixS. honestly if ultima was stuck to the shapeshifting gimmick and actually had personality. He would've been a God tier villain. For example the plot twist with the prince was chefs kiss. That the type of villainy ultima needed to cement himself as a good villain but most of his acts are off screen and his true form comes off boring.
Lol I said that Alot in this game. Black diablo had to have a part in making clives out fit and Joshua had to have hunted at least 30 teostra to get that scarf alone 😆 A lot of mhw bones in this game. Alot of detail.
@@Jburney131 Apparently, the combat director for ff16, also worked on MHW. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the people who worked on MHW also went on to work on this title.
I got literally chills when I realized the song in the first part of this was a remix of the final fantasy one overworld theme. I had to put the controller down for a moment. Been playing this series since the beginning and all the little nostalgia call backs in this game were just the cherry on the top.
I recognized the song immediately when Josh was looking at the tapestry, but I thought it was the Chaos Shrine theme... it never occurred to me until I saw a comment similar to yours that the Overworld theme and Chaos Shrine themes both have the same motif in them. That's crazy.
So wait this guys names Ultima like the spell in all the FF games? Well i guess Ultima was that boss in ff12 too a secret one of the Zodiacs if I'm correct.
Just to point out that the etymology sense of logos means reason but it has also mean semi-divine being , reasonable mind . It's mean that Ultima didn't wanted humans to evolved at all to sapiency . More like animals .
So to add that . That means we shouln't have any pity of Ultima and his kind because they don't accept neither change or evolution . Ah i wish to send them Nova bomb and exterminatus nuke
Interesting tidbit, Mythos and Logos exist, but at the end of the game when Clive beats Ultima, the song that plays (based on the official album) is called Holos. Any idea what that means?
While Ultima probably isn't my favourite Final Fantasy main villain (that would be Kefka and Caius, followed by Sephiroth, Kuja, Ardyn, and Golbez), I think he is the best version of this type of villain they have done so far. He is a Cloud of Darkness/Zeromus/Necron/Orphan that is finally done with proper buildup and screentime, which definitely makes me appreciate the character more.
@@willwhite6110 Ardyn (like most of the characters from XV) was a massive case of wasted potential but what is there is really interesting, especially with the DLC lore included. He makes my top villains list, barely, because I liked what I think they were trying to do with him, even if it was mishandled and incomplete in execution. Also, playing as him in the DLC was really fun.
Well fought. I'm lined up at the gate to face him next so glad to see the fight for an idea of what to expect including the various phases/stages. Thanks for also including the cutscenes following. It'll be a relief to get this battle overwith so I could finally get to the sidequests, hunts and other stuff that follow to acquiring the Gotterdammerung and other stuff.
Idk if its just me but the first time i heard this theme when i fought Ultima, i immediately got Kuja vibes from FF9. If you listen closely to the female chorus bits, you can hear Kuja's theme in there. At least, i hear it
I can't seem to find the ost for the ultima dialog at the beginning of this video. Also can't find the ost/battle music for their fight at 9:02 Can some1 point me in the right direction plz 🙏 Update: Found them 😁 - ost at the beginning is called "Interdimentional Rift" and for the battle music, just search "FF XVI OST: Ultima 3" ❤️
@@nemi9217 I found them a while ago (forgot to update the comment 😅) the 1st one I was looking for is called "Interdimentional Rift" and for the battle music, just search "FF XVI OST: Ultima 3" ❤️
This was really cool in my opinion I’m not gonna be like others though that’s going to compare him to arydn he was his own character meant for just that final fantasy story I don’t expect another villain to be the exact same as him and his motives
One could make a nice parallel between Ardyn and Barnabas though. They are complete opposites to each other. One fought against Fate in vain, one just went with it all the way because it was easier than facing the truth. :/
La potenza generata da ultima (piena potenza), sta scuotendo l'intera Inter dimensionale (nel mezzo delle due dimensioni). La potenza di ultima si avvicina non di poco l'unione delle tredici oscurità xehanort in kingdom hearts 3.
The fighting style looks soo much better than ff15. If ff15 had this type of fighting then it'd be my favorite game ever. But this one although I haven't played it looks extremely promising
this is better than 15 in many ways. 15 was a cool open world but the story changed so much from its original intent that it became kinda flat. 15 only had like 2 towns as well which disappointed me. The open world experience was 2nd to none tho. 16's world is large too...but it doesn't all connect like 15.
Is no one gonna talk about hiw much Joshua has exploded in strength and determination? Fighting against Ultima, and standing equal with Clive. I hated Joshua's absence throughout the game, but this moment would've fallen short without it.
It’s a beautiful game. Cool characters and style. I wish it was a traditional rpg turn based with ffx-2 or similar battle system though so I can relax while playing it. Maybe next time square
Biblically speaking, Logos is God Himself. Yahweh, The True God, has a translation. It means "I AM". Israel also has a translation. It means: "He Struggles With God". So Israel means: "He Strives with I AM". To fight our better SELF and destroy our infernal shadow in order to evolve as people, is the true meaning of life. By doing so, we embrace Logos. Ultima, by showing that he despises Logos so much and wanting humanity to be a lifeless puppet, proves that he is not a true god. He is literally NOT Yahweh. He is J-E-N-O-V-A.
@@azazel166 Ultima is Negative Energy made manifest through the Emanations of God. (Emanations in Hebrew: Sephiroth). He is not the Creator of man. He is the Creator of man's weakness. It is the fallen human nature that likes worshipping false gods (and then probably abandoning them since they are vanities) and Ultima is one of them.
@@azazel166 Biblically speaking, according to Hebrew mysticism, (Kabbalah), the Qliphoth (Negative Sephiroth) is actually demonic energy. (J-E-N-O-V-A). But a demonic energy does not truly exist at all, because it is OUR creation. It is like an empty shell. It can only operate if it is absorbed by God Himself and His Emanations Angel (Sephiroth). God absorbs Negative Energy and throws it at you to battle it, because He wants to destroy it. The Angel of Yahweh is also Yahweh. Which means that the Angel of Yahweh is Sephiroth. Hence the Name Israel: (He Struggles With GOD). That's why in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Sephiroth appears to be both deceitful and friendly. In the first case, He has absorbed Jenova. In the second case, He is the Angel of Yahweh.
Hey can someone tell me if there's some kind of item or ability I need to get to have clive do that special dodge animation. I beat the game once but could never gain that ability. Is it something for final fantasy mode or something else?
You need the Beserker Ring equipped.... but I think this guy has it on an easy setting because I have it but it doesn't tell you when to dodge (R1) like in this video, you just have to time it yourself. Its basically a Precision dodge with the Beserker Ring equipped.
@@willwhite6110he has ring of timely evasion equipped too, gives the option of dodging every attach that can be dodged, makes everything easy don’t do it, makes the game a waste
This scene was really cool, until Clive's cringey failed priming... And one thing I absolutely cannot stand about the Ultima saga is.... The Eikons were rendered practically... useless. I hated that. They were the coolest part of this game, next to the special brother relationship. 😊
No one will ever be as CLASSY as Ardyn was. That guy carried the whole of FFXV on his back while Roadside Boyband Simulator was whining that their car broke down...
Noctis blade called Ultima. If Noctis could use his Ultima destroy Ultima. Then Noctis blade will be called Ultimate. Ultima is lucky he got killed here. In FF15 Noctis would absorb him instead and use his power to create the Ultimate Blade.
@@herobxon9709 It was engine blade first then you can upgrade it with help of Cid his blade became Ultima Blade as your story progress. You can choose to ignore it and stay as engine blade user.
Ff 15 had little to no boss fights. Here you get 7 gigantic bosses that last more than 30 minutes each with 3 phases and a dozen more traditional bosses
Another FF where you kill the God of the world so humanity can be free because they don't need the guidance of Gods anymore blablabla etc. XIII, XV and now XVI... can you guys be more original for the next game please?
Except that not at all the plot of the game. In fact the conflict here is that Ultima abandoned mankind after he created them, thinking they would just remain his pawns, only for them to gain wills of their own, which he views as a sin. He also doesn't care about men, could care less about guiding them, and is entirely selfish/hypocritical since he is the same as humanity. He also didnt create the world, his kind merely traveled to it after the Blight consumed theirs. So maybe you should pay more attention/play tbe game before you make statements like that so what you say isn't completely wrong. Hell XV didnt even have you at conflict with the gods in game outside of them testing you, so your examples don't even work.
Yet another Final Fantasy were you kill A Creater God and the main characters decides humans are better off without deities in the name of freedom. 🙄 Im actually tired of this trope and hope they would make a better argument of why this would work other then God is an asshole. There are actually many problems with this Philosophy that the franchise never deals with.
Sorry to break it to you guys but ultima is such a one dimensional villain. If the FF team wanted to make a grimdark tale because their fan bases have matured then why make such a shallow takeover the world because we better than human villain. Death from Puss In Boots 2 was from a kids film and he was more dimensional than this! Kinda ruin's the story and the themes.
You don't seem to understand this particular archetype of villain. The shallowness is the *point* - this is the Archetypal False Saviour. A Creator rendered inferior to its Creation, and in its denial would see the creation wiped out. It's a very cliche archetype because it's literally an antediluvian concept. The traits are always the same - the God either fears us just for being different, is disgusted by us, hates us, etc. And then we kill our shallow God because the depths of humanity are as of yet unexplored and blah blah blah. Do you have to like the archetype? Not at all! But don't misconstrue deliberate shallowness (to make a point) with shallowness (as a failure of character building). Though they didn't have to make his speech pattern and voice so plain. Shallowness is one thing, but where's the pizzaz? Formal vocabulary and a dead tone don't add up to divinity, and I wish more media would get that x.x
Ultima was basically boring Sephiroth, he had the wing and everything in his bootleg Ifrit form. Bro even copied the scene in AC when Sephiroth reached up and created a vortex 💀. He is intimidating in appereance but is also super boring.
just beat the game with no armor no rings, no new wepons, noithing i wanted to prove this game was easy and it is i did not need to buy anything in the sotre use anything i did it with only my wepon i started with ha min my opinon ff12 13 and 15 were more fun and took longer and i actually need items to do them
@@tyronerequif4653 Yeah. English speaking people who listen to japanese voice acting while not understanding one word but fullfilling their weeaboo-existence. I can take this absolutely serious. 🤡
@@FelixS. it's just the way it sounds, if you have an issue with someone enjoying the voice acting better in another language then stay mad. english i literally couldn't stand the accent and the way they said things, plain and simple
