Well there is a book called Dawn of the Future but we cant really blame the DLC cancellation on them when it was the community’s poor reception of the game at the time that led to then cancelling the DLC. Would have been nice though. Maybe one day
FF xv suffered form SE administration, they changed a lot of people and fired some others leading to the project to fail. That company its just dumb, they are now making the same mistakes with ff xvi and ff vii remake jaja, they havent go bankrupt only because sony gives them money xD
Holy hell, I didn't know you can freeze the lakes in FF15! And freeze yourself in if you are standing in it, that's amazing! FF15 was reeeally ambitious! Even through the story scarred me and the ending left me hanging, the wrapping up of the development was rushed, I still enjoyed the general gameplay loop and the surroundings of FF15. I want to go back and play it but don't at the same time.
Fire Spells In sunny weather they cause random wildfires and the fire stays longer, in overcast weather they disappear slowly, in rain, the effect is much weaker and fire disappears quickly, instead the whole area has a steam around. Lightning Spells Hits normal in sunny weather, can cause small fires. Overcast weather the damage is a bit higher and wide spread. in rain the damage is much higher and static electricity remains in the air. Also bonus damage with enemies stood in bodies of water or puddles caused by rain. Ice Spells Weaker in sunny weather, stronger in overcast and also leaves a mist, in raining weather, the air freezes, rain turns to snow and damage is much higher. You can freeze enemies in bodies of water. FF15 had some great mechanics hidden behind magic
@@yobro6053 15 has the worst pacing out of all the FF games... Half way through, it feels like a marathon that I don't want to run, but have to in order to get to the end. Even the Royal version doesn't do much to fix that.... I tried so hard to love the game, but holy hell are there so many problems with it. For example: Having to watch a movie and an anime and read the manga a lot of people don't know about in order to understand the backstory. Don't even get me started on the DLC and how it should have just been a part of the main game from the get go.... Yeah, some of the MSQ in 16 is a bit slow going, and the side quests - although the story you get from completing them is great - are samey and tedious, the game as a whole is phenomenal. To me, it's weaknesses didn't detract from the bigger picture. But all the problems with FFXV when it came out (which is when I played it) far overshadowed anything good about it. I was SO excited about XV in the lead up to it coming out. So please don't mistake me for someone who just shits on games for no reason. I really wanted to love it.
No, thats not the reason. FF 16 has no depth, its map sucks, its combat sucks. Its got all the problems. 15 just does it all, better.@@yobro6053 16 being a devil may cry game combat wise its its #1 downfall. Within an hour of 16, you did it already. 15 has the better gameplay loop, its openness feels genuine, 16, does not
@@jonathansoko1085 With a Dog Shit Story... You have to watch a Movie first. It's like FF7 would have startet on the World Map without Midgar before. Edit: I mean a not even really good Movie. Where the Main Character is what? 30 Seconds in it? While the Main Character in the Movie means NOTHING in the Game anymore. Not to mention that Lunafreya in Kingsgalive and the Game are two complety diffrent Peoble. They don't even look the same. That killed FF15 already.

Yet 15 is more impressive. The environmental impact of magic and summons and the superb motion capture makes it more next gen than 16. Not to mention time passes in 15 and scenario lighting actually changes, while 16 it is all fixed, many shadows are not real time generated, etc
@@shadowcomments6481 You gotta be joking. Every single eikon fight in 16 puts 15s boss fights to shame. The final boss of 15 doesnt touch 16s weakest eikon fight.
@@predosortw551 it’s directional with the analog stick not to mention party skills and the ability to switch in between party members and crafting your own spells. Also different weapon types had different combos.
Right.. replayability value.. the first super Mario games were based around "save the princess" 15 is damn near perfect game 16 had to fuck it up with its anime style boss battle animations🤣
@@Chris-qj7mt what are you talking about? You literally have several FF games that do the exact same things as FF16 especially when you have Cloud and Sephiroth that are the literal embodiment of anime style. This is just a dumb take
The magic spells in XV look more impressive in some ways. I think it's partially because the environment responds to the magic. Grass burns when fire is cast, water freezes when blizzard is cast. In XVI, the environment does not react to your magic attacks in the same way; it can be quite jarring to see a screen clearing attack like Flames of Rebirth not cause any environmental effects when it is used in a field of grass.
Although tbf I think if they added environmental effects like that it might be too intense for the ps5 to handle. Already died on me for the titan fight
It's interesting, but you can see in the Fire segment that the shader bleeds up the tree and looks weird. I appreciate the effects that XV tried to pull off, but it's not always necessary to convey some great effects. Magic in XV isn't really that important anyway, so it's good that it has interactions with the environment to make it feel more important when you do use it.
I'd say that's a fair assessment only because XV was an open world game and the lighting wasn't as good as it could be. I think it could have been better, but for what it was, it was pretty solid overall.
@@LeocaprioDinardo not really... I mean, you can like the visual style better, but in almost every sense, XVI looks much better, more detail, more realistic lighting and shadows, etc.
I like both. Can I say that? ^^ What I Like about Final Fantasy Games: They always try to do something diffrent from Game to Game. Let's look at it especially the Battle Systems since Final Fantasy 7 (Without 11 and 14): 8 is diffrent then 7. 9 is diffrent then 10. 10 is diffrent then 12. 12 is diffrent then 13. 13 is diffrent then 15. 15 is diffrent then 16. Every Mainline Final Fantasy plays diffrent, with diffrent World's, Songs, Characters and Storys. This is why I love Final Fantasy so much.
I just replayed ff15 on ps5. I have to say its totally improved from when I played it on ps4 back in 2016! SPELLS are very OP now since there's an item that doesn't harm your team anymore. OFF ROAD regalia! Fixed CHAPTER 13! ADDITIONAL QUESTS & SUMMON(Garuda) idk if it's just me, but the summons keeps on triggering now whenever a battle drags on... which is AWESOME! I just wish there's a BREAK DAMAGE LIMIT for normal attacks because late game hunts have really high HP, and those fights tend to go on forever.
There is. In chapter 14 in insomnia there is a level 119 boss that, once you beat it, drops an item called rare metal. At the cost of your hp you can now deal up to 99,999 damage instead of the usual 9,999 cap. You can of course use food, items, clothes and even some weapons to still increase your HP. Its honestly still worth it though especially if you pair it with the founders king sigil and/or the tri-headed heart that drops after you beat cerberus for fire nullification and +1,000HP. Even with the health debuff if you have the sigil you the only time you’ll probably down is if he grabs you or you dont dodge(same with basically everything else) edit: if you prefer brute forcing the adamantiose you can also turn the adamantoise fight from a REALLY long fight or battle with random rng using the ring of lucii into roughly a 30 minute or less fight with the rare metal and armiger(just look out for when it moves since you wont have a lotta hp)
Awesome to hear. I played and finished the game at launch. Never touched any of the DLCs or improvements. It's something I've been wanting to revisit for a while so I think I'll do that as soon as I finish Rebirth.
i would say FFXVI has better graphics but man the FFXV is more detailed esp for the magic spell and summon effects and how it would affect the characters, and I also love their interactions during battle.
FFXV has crazy mechanics and physics. You can tell that they tried to do too much but couldn't deliver all of it. Just take the chocobos for instance. The feather, movement, eyes, head movements. FFXVI chocobos can't even compare.
@@nicholasong2892 I mean FF 16 chocobos REALLY feel like they were implemented at the very last moment because they had to have chocobo in a FF game, the fact that they barely go any faster than the running speed makes them underwhelming.
I haven't played 16, so I can't say anything based on experience, but 15 is still one of my all-time favorite JRPGs. Though it falls short story-wise, it excels in everything else for me.
What the community disliked was that it was blatantly unfinished. You only get 3 magic spells throughout the entire game: fire, ice, lightning, that's it. At launch you had to watch the Kingslaive movie, the anime, even the trailers, to understand what the heck was going on. The story (in the game) was a series of cutscenes with barely any context between them haphazardly slapped together. Half the world map is missing, you never get to explore Niflheim since by that point you're on rails until the end.
Ff15 is a master piece. It’s one of the few final fantasy’s I’ve gone back and played multiple times. Sadly it’s not very hard which is my only complaint
FF15 is just because the plot does not have a complete narrative, and the game is very original. FF16 feels like a cross between FF15 and Devil May Cry 5
FF15's BLIZARD is one of the most incredible ice effects I've ever seen in my life and will be for a long time to come. I remember the first time I saw it, my mouth dropped open! The characters sliding, those ice particles in the air, the characters breathing and releasing smoke from their mouths, in short, how sad the waste of potential was in this game that had everything to be in the TOP3 FF
They are totally different games, FF 16 is much more cinematic. I played FF15 and It's a pity, it seems developers left the game in half, there are so many empty spaces in the way the story proceed, for me is an incomplete game.
The DLCs are side stories implemented years later after launch, episode Aranea and episode Luna never got made so even the dlcs will remain unfinished. At launch you had to watch the kingslaive movie to know what happened in Insomnia and then the anime to know how the characters become friends. Then there's also a short novella or something, never bothered with it. The story of the main game remains a shitshow.
Yeah that's the problem the game has to tell you. You find out your dad was killed and your entire kingdom has fallen...from a newspaper the day after lol. That's horrible storytelling man, show don't tell. I don't think even the developers themselves would say that was good, the game is full of compromises. Some gameplay trailers showed your party fighting during the attack but I guess it had to be cut for budget reasons. Tragic.
@@MASJYT they literally have cut scenes from the kingsglaive movie in the game, you don't need to watch that movie to understand the story, Return of the Jedi doesn't show what look did after the Empire Strikes back to become a jedi but you understand he's more powerful lmao
The only 2 thing i don't like in 15 are spel/magic mechanics (I never use that throwing pokeball msgic) and 2nd they never really finished the entire map to explore. Would've been amazing to roam Altissia and Tenebri.
I havent played 16 yet but from what I see its basically just Devil May Cry, which isnt bad. Now 15 had way more effort put into it for sure. I played it for over 100h and only now I am finding out you could actually freeze the water, and it can even freeze your feet if you are standing on it! ALSO, something that wasnt shown in this video is that you can play as the other 3 characters as well, and believe it or not I had more fun playing as the other 3 than with Noctis himself. They have their own unique fighting styles and really made the battles more interesting for me.
I'm sorry but 15 is INSANELY better.. the ONLY thing I'd say is better in 16 is LITERALLY.. Ifrit... If they were fighting THAT Ifrit in the beginning of 15 is the ONLY way it could have been ANY better.. 16 good story but like someone else said in the comments 15 was simply so much more immersive and well thought out . I LOVED 16, the primary combat reminds of DMC for sure.. and it had a good story (reminiscent of a plethora of anime). Buuuuut 15 still has that handcrafted polish to it . Take 16s Eikon battles + noctis' summons, and have a baby with EVERYTHING else about 15...., and you have nothing short of a perfect ff game. Can I get a 16 Ifrit mod in 15?.. PLZ?!
I haven't played FFXVI yet and I got the feeling that it is more like FFX. FFXV is true open world, i really apreciate it. I think they should work with the original team, Hironobu Sakagushi, Nobuo Uematsu and Yoshitaka Amano.
Yes exactly. I bet you the same people will look at Final Fantasy 17 and say that that's not "a true final fantasy game". And then praise 16 more 15 was my first FF and I will always love it; but I have never seen this much praise for it until 16 came out
FFXV alot better than 16 n ive seen gameplay on it. IF XV didnt have the rest of its content deleted/removed. XV wouldve been one of the top best final fantasies
I really liked the the Luminous Engine. I recently played FFVII Remake for the first time, and as I was playing I would continually think of how it would have looked with the Luminous Engine instead of Unreal Engine 4
Good attention to detail to FF15's spells but you forget that Clive can use all elemental spells (plus Ruin) independent of Eikon sbilities up to the -ra level.
Final Fantasy 15 have timeless gameplay and feature I think, you'll never get bored to play this .. They have car modification, flyings car as an airship, cooking, camping, fishing, hunting, photography, party and Variated weaponry, big world map, sailing a boat/ship, riding chocobo, active and wait mode. And many more I think 😁 ff15 for the first time final fantasy gamer and final fantasy fans 😁👍
clear to say that the budget for 16 all went to the animations and visual resolution and use of the new engine and less on the actual game play, since your only party is Torgal and you literally have a skill you can equip to only press one button to attack. i still wish for episode Aranea and Lunafreya and how their gameplay mechanics would of work... if only...
EXACTLY the animations are the ONLY reason why this is a debate. Any one can see 16s take on Ifrit would pretty much carry ANY decent story . Imo aside the animation 15 is better in a million other ways
@@Chris-qj7mt 15 is a mess of a game. It has no structure. No appealing story. Shit characters. Shit development. One of the worst gameplay in the franchise. 16 is way more enjoyable, it's a cheap devil may cry and made to appeal to modern audiences but at least it's a actually fully developed game, not a overgrown proof of concept.
While ff15 is very detailed has many interesting interactions with the environment, but the difficulty is really easy while and the story was very rushed in my opinion.

@@hischransen8069 This is a stupid statement because plenty of these supposed "FF veteran" also like 16 more then 15, or hate both equally. You seem to forget 15 is universally hated on by a lot of the community, ESPECIALLY older ff fans, who just hate every new ff game after like 10 solely because its not turn based. It has nothing to do with whether or not your 'casual', that doesnt mean anything. You like to throw a round a lot of meaningless buzzwords without providing any actual reasons for why one is better then the other. Like actually make some reasons I want to hear why you dislike 16 so much.
16 is not a Final Fantasy game. Its an action RPG with the name. It heavily takes inspiration from DMC with just names from FF series. It was very disappointing. The story actually being decent. The gameplay just felt repetitive and didn't need much thought into doing anything. 15 is still the game I recommend for new FF players to start with.
@@whenyounutinhermouthandshe X is an easy mode game. You have complete control of how battles play out if you know what you are doing. FF7 Remake is a game for original player of the 7 series. New players to final fantasy wont have any idea of what's been changed or even what's going on in 7.
@@Leon_ZX you definitely do not need to watch the movie or anime to understand what is going on. You can simply play the game and watch the cutscenes and understand the war. If you want to get deeper, sure watch both and even read the book. 7 however, has all the games and AC being brought into the game without explanation.
FFXV is so much better on PC, punishing even the RTX cards today. Highest lighting, shadow, NVIDIA shadow library, turf effects etc makes it even better. Also i feels FFXV battle mechanics were better. Rather than smashing button, it's possible to execute complex maneuvers and unlock hidden combos with certain bosses. My favorite is the Red Giant maneuver where you block at the right time and jump on the sword.

Not really at all 16 is amazing and pushes the series in a new direction rather than doing the same thing over and over. For me 16 is my top favourite FF next to 7, 15 is #3 on my list
People who hate FF16, might sucks at the battle mechanics or playing it at easy. Turn up the difficulty and we have sekeiro combat😅. FF15 combat mechanics are not so deep and really is pushing buttons and parrying. Story wise, ff16 is more traditional but have to wait tor the last dlc to judge. Ff15 try to be like kingdom hearts with numerous back stories but failed to tell a straight forward story. Lunafreya is like a decoration vase with nothing added to the narrative. Each have its good and bad points. Everyone have their favourites so stop comparing. Peace.
funny how 15 with its disaster development, is somehow more fun of a game which resonates more emotionally. should’ve gotten 16 physically so i could trade that piece of shit in
@@Coldsilfur4what's funny is that 16 is a much easier game than 15... And excluding a party system (which 16 don't have), but noctis has way more mechanics than Clive. And with royal edition it's no contest that XV combat is way better than 16.
Havent played 16 yet but after replaying 15, the DLCs and diving into parts of the lore the game failed to convey properly, I dont see 16 being better. 15 has grown so much on me it has become my favourite FF game of all time (prior it was 7). The music, the God Epos having Aeons being Gods, their story, ardyns story, the OST (the best of all time), the tragic end. This game is a Masterpiece, one of those things you only start to appreciate much later.
Everyone agrees that FFXVI simply has the best Eikons scenes in the entire franchise, right? story, eikon battle and soundtrack are AAA level. Top notch. But other than that the entire game is very low budget and disposable.
Yep, they didn't bother to invest much on the overall gameplay part so just tried to copy dmc5 and witcher 3 but they kinda failed. The cutscenes and cinematics are epic tho

Its saddening that they scrapped all that work. This is what horrible deadlines, overplanning amd too many direction changes does to a product. FF15 shouldve lead Final fantasy into new hights and i believe it would have if it actually had better development

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forgive them for quitting on FXV like they did. Not only did they release it, LEGITIMATELY like 30% done for the story itself, they straight up quit on the last 30% after the other 40 was released as DLC.
Lighting of course will be better in 16 being in new gen, but honestly the whole world of 15 is captivating to me. The characters also have more personality to me and depth than 16
