I cry every single time I watch the intro and the music swells as the logo hits with that powerful musical cue. That and the simple final fantasy theme in the start up menu. Nostalgia is a powerful thing and man they nailed it with this game. They could not have done any better and I love the ending too changing everything about what “remake” means. It’s just painful to wait for the next part now.
People saying Midgar looked too nice are totally off the mark here. We're looking at the city on the plate, that !@#$ 'pizza above the slums. This is supposed to be the "nice" part of Midgar, where all the rich people live. And it *still* doesn't look all that nice.
When I saw Aerith again, it really felt like I met a dead old friend come back to life. God damn it squarenix really knows how to pull your heartstrings
My emotions are not ready for this game!!! The full orchestra music, the atmosphere of midgar, and just the character models details. So much love in this game!! I'm gonna cry like a baby playing this game!!
"Midgar looks "too nice"." Here's the thing: Midgar has two levels: the upper level that sits on a huge platform, and the "slums", below said platform. The upper levels are the "nice" part of Midgar, where the upper class lives. The slums (where 90% of the game during the Midgar arc happens) are the "shitty part" that we're used to.
I was in such a bad environment when the original game released in 1997, I was 13 at that time (yes I'm old) It feels like everytime I hear the intro play, I'm reminded of how horrible my life was at a very young age, and I can't help myself balling my eyes out whenever the intro comes around. On the other hand, I'm glad to be reminded that my life is better now, so it's more like a tears of joy thing, and also a reminder to never give up

This game has been out for a few months now and I still get misty eyed when I see the intro. It’s us fans who have seen old then new and who can appreciate all the new things they have and how they have kept all the old or paid homage to the old! Totally get where you are coming from!!
Your reaction to this is how a lot of us are when we first saw this clip. Man, the attention to details is ridiculous and mesmerizing. You can't help but notice all the fine work that the developers have and than we see our beloved characters in full flesh here! After how many decades, its like we're playing this game again for the first time. Lets get it folks! The soundtrack is what blew my mind - its so nostalgic yet it feels fresh and new all over just by your reaction to it. Nobuo Uematsu at his best here. I wanna see your gameplay on this game.
if the upper plate of Midgar looks too nice, A: that's because you haven't seen where the rot and refuse are. B: that says more about you and where you live than it does about the game
When the game intro started.... you see Aerith.... the screen pans out to Midgar and then the base hits you and the meteor shows up and the title "Final Fantasy VII Remake" comes up. I legit cried. I was transported back to my childhood. Hell, i was never a "reall" FF7 fan to begin with, but damn, this hit me hard. I played FF7 but i wasn't old enough to really understand the story, i was much more of a FF8 fan, since when i got the time to play that i was mature enough to slightly understand that story more. So FF8 is the one that is "my" FF game. But damn, FF VII Remake still hit hard as hell.
Never played the original FF7 but I’m still SUPER excited for this game! It‘s so amazing that they manage to get you more excited after every new thing they show! I‘m still not sure if I have to play the original one to enjoy this to the fullest, but I don’t have any time to play games besides WoW right now 😭 So I’m just going to wait for FF7 in the FFP, even if you are playing the original after the remake 😉
I finish the game and game of the year contender for me so far, but I cant be the only one that got chills and emotional the moment the camera pans out from Aerith and the music starts getting louder while showing the title right?
Well the opening part of Midgar is "nice" because it's the upper plate. You can actually see the slums inbetween plates if you look closely while they pan out of Midgar. LIke WTH the detail. :D
Do you not have VODs of your playthrough? There's only 4 short videos in the FF7R playlist. I've just been scrolling through reaction videos looking for someone new to watch who cares about this game as much as I do (to cry at the intro, at least!) but where's the content, man! Don't leave me hanging :)
Hey! So I actually haven't gotten around to it yet but I will be planning a FULL edited 100% playthrough! Platinum trophy and all that because I love love love this game!
Although FF7 isn’t exactly one of my favorites, between this and all the trailers that have been shown so far I am getting SO freakin’ excited to play this remake.
@Aaron9 You need to calm down sir. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. FF7 is easily my favorite, but you don't see me crying about his preference. That's the beauty of Final Fantasy, there's one for everybody.
@Aaron9 Wow dude :D you should really take a chill pill. FF7 is also my favorite game, but saying that it's UNANIMOUSLY the greatest game of all time for everybody and those who disagree have shit taste is just stupid lol. And FF9 was an amazing game too
The black bird of begin, is Jenova , welcome for the anecdote ;) That's why you can listen to the music that represents Sephirot while Jénova flies through Midgar to meet Cloud and Barret in the reactor of the first Boss, where Cloud can see a black feather fall from the sky.
Jenovah is kinda already IN Midgar at this time and I don't think any of her cells have manifested as a bird? I think it was just to show the landscape surrounding the city and how Midgar has drained the planet of its life(stream)
@@MissildineOnline If you look in the gameplay against the first Boss, you will see Cloud watch a black feather fall from the sky. In addition Jenova, manifests with a body that is not yours throughout the game, manifests with the body of Sephirot, to manipulate Cloud, because Sephirot is DEAD throughout the game, so YES, Jenova can manifest itself in the form want, including the form of Sephirot.
@@MissildineOnline Ey dude, I found the official information of the story, and I can say that the bird is "Sephiroth" using Jénova's body. He was not dead, he was frozen in the Northern cave, and in 5 years he managed to manipulate Jenova's body to move around the world. I hope you like this information ;)
I was wondering how they would pronounce "????", but now I know it's "merc" ;) Hopefully, bywatching as many reactions as I can, I'll get it out of my system and I won't start tearing up at the sustained violin note and those first three bell-like notes 2:09 as the camera comes down to Aeris/th. No luck so far, but I'm hoping I'll be OK for when I play FF7R for real.
@@MissildineOnline well, yes, LOL ^^ of course xD www yes, they showing the barren land, dried flowers, and dirty locations, and Mako Reactor of midgar as well to let players know the effect from the Shinra Inc that keep sucking the lifestream for years, But, more than that, the hill it self is the important starting point of Cloud's journey before his identity and memory got mixed up. And the hill is also place where Zack Fair died after giving the Buster Sword to Cloud before he died. 非常に重要な場所。☺️それが私が言いたいことですよ。
@@Ferdy_Yuugitsune1040 Agreed (which btw Crises Core needs to make an appearance as a remaster soon - so good) BUT I don't really feel like that's what they were showing in this scene :/ the hill could be ANY hill - in fact, the one they showed is too far away from Midgar to actually be that hill. According to the scene in Crises and OG FF7
@@MissildineOnline The hill intentionally put there. is to rebuild the feeling for who know it. Anyway, if you see it again, you can see if the surrounding plate of midgar all covered with fog, and only the SHINRA top part tower building that visible. In tehe remake, Midgar size also expanded become more huge and wider than the original. 😌😎 Crisis Core's midgar and the hill location were still based to the original FFVII. Is it really a "Cinematic" i mean...at the end when Cloud jumps down...the camera literally swings around behind him and you're in the game...no cut...no load...just go

It is the trick is to pay attention to the steam once the steam from the train covers the screen it switches to in game before that it was pre rendered
