if the game is similar to how it was in the original then there shouldn't be any reason starting from rebirth that you cant have a party consisting of barret and aerith anymore. Thats if things work the way they did in the original which theres a chance it might not.
I just cant get over how great this game is, everything is so beautiful. I wish my aunt who was like my 2nd mom and my older cousin were alive to see just this. They helped me to get into ff and ff7 was their favorite and they got me right into it as well.
To me this is the best Final Fantasy game created so far. The characters are expertly crafted, the combat is satisfying and snappy, the music is stunning and the cut scenes might as well be movies One of the few times I truly fell in love with characters
Funny, I thought the game was quite poor. It looked fantastic but the side missions were very boring as were some of the boss fights. I was disappointed with the game as a whole to be honest and it was nowhere near as good as the original.
"SOMETIMES, YOU JUST GOTTA ACCEPT THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE TO KILL THINGS TO SURVIVE!" "HERE! I'LL SHOW YOU!" *Fire in the hole* "THERE! IT'S DONE! IT'S OVER! AH SON OF A BI-!"
The banter during fights adds so much to the characters and interparty relationships. This fight takes place at the same point in the story with the same party members as the original, and they really took advantage of that as a way to show Barett and Aerith quickly getting to know and rely on each other through a life or death situation, since these two characters haven't really interacted at length up to this point.
I 100% agree, the banter between party members allow them to come off as so human and real, and show how they are willing to work together to defeat an enemy, it was great seeing Barrett and Aerith work together without Cloud and/or Tifa for once
The Airbuster is my favorite while the Hell House is my second. The Airbuster is my favorite because you can make it a difficult or insanely tough fight based on the components you want to sabotage and the Hell House is a close second because there’s so much cinematic drama behind it with the commentary from the arena MCs and it has so many stages to showcase how much more ferocious it is compared to its regular enemy counterpart in the original game.
I like the fact you can see at least Red's limit break, and he's actually very helpful to stagger arsenal in this fight (attack arsenal's canon with lightning when it's almost charged, arsenal will lightly stagger and red will attack it in order to fill the stagger bar)
If you guys haven’t noticed. The ghost figures are actually the ghosts of memories from the past in our real world forcing the characters of this game to adhere to the original storyline. The actions taken by the characters that go off script are the wishes of the Fans and original FF7 team. So for example, Wedge was SUPPOSE to die sooner but didn’t and helped out instead, which is why President Shinra wasn’t dead when they arrived. The smoke you saw coming out of his chest was the ghosts of the original game forcing Sephiroth to kill him. When Wedge tried to help again, the ghosts finally got to him and killed him like the original story intended. What this means is there might be an option for Aerith to live or for us to choose in future installments.
Considering that we destroyed the leaders of the whispers, and Sephiroth gained the powers of them like a parasite, I’m guessing that the story will be half-accurate to the original from now on
This fight was by far the hardest for me, took me at least an hour and almost 20 phoenix downs. admittedly it was 5am when I did it and I forgot I had auto cure on Tifa but still, idk how ppl found it fun or easy, trying to lock on to certain points was a nightmare. Also i'm probably wrong since I was tired but I don't even remember Red 13 being in this fight lmao
If you upgrade barret enough and give him the right weapons, he is a spam fest. Overcharge, focused shot and maximum fury. And the funny thing is, his ATB guage fills up so fast.
You were playing this wrong fyi. In the first phase you're supposed to blast its main cannon when it's charging, in which case Red will smack the bot and drop its defenses, allowing you to whale away at the barrier drones. And in the fourth phase you're NOT supposed to be blasting the bot when it's charging Cry Havoc the first time, you'll never beat it then.
*MEANWHILE IN AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE* Aerith: *heals the robot* Barret: “WHA!? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT SWEET FLOWER GIRL!?!?” Aerith: “It looked hurt.” Barret: *TRIGGERED* *NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!*
Great boss and great music to go with it. Another thing is that the second half of Chapter 17 has some of the most incredible visuals I've ever seen in a video game. The fact they got it to run on hardware from 2013 is an achievement and a half.
the first time i fought this boss it took ages cause i was a bit confused on how to weaken it. but on hard mode it was so much easier. doing big damage on the weak point was the way to go and you get to see Red do his move against the robots, it was so good. it turned out to be one of my favourite bosses
Crazy how an electric company winds up building these horrifically powerful robots. Makes you wonder...was Wutai and the surrounding monsters in the area THIS powerful to warrant their creation?
@@fernandozavaletabustos205 maybe in the remake, when shinra finished building midgar, they had to fight a weapon or two cause of all the mako they were pumping from the planet
@@willardkestila6465 Well in Before Crisis they had to fight Jade Weapon, but that was after building the reactors but shortly after the war with Wutai.
@@fernandozavaletabustos205 but Jade Weapon was going to destroy Zirconiad, but went to kill the Turks instead because Turks kill Zirconiad, and this took place after Zack died, but before FF7
I hated it because if you came into it with the wrong materia equipped you are stuffed & have to go back to before the Cloud fight with Rufus to alter your equipment. Truly awful game design.
@@anthonywhiteside6845 or you could just hold square during the cutscene. Besides, even if you die you're not sent all the way back to the rufus fight either way
@sc128 Yeah, but it probably wouldn't be a good idea to throw a whole new character at the player so late into the game. I mean you have so much time to familiarize yourself with the other, leveling their weapons and materia it doesn't really make sense to have to new character for such a relatively short amount of time. Or maybe I'm wrong and they''s pull and FFXV on us and update the game to have him playable after the second part of the remake comes out.
@@cameronstone4495 I guess we'll wait and see. Hopefully by the time FF7R comes out on the other platforms, it'll have been patched/updated so we can see Red play a larger role in these fights.
This was a really fun ass Boss Fight. Yet to be quite honest also the last 6 series of Boss Fights if I’m counting them correct was damn relentless. For this boss quickly killing the Bosses Drones and staying behind the pillars and rubble pile are all key and to reduce damage. Stay clear from being easily in the open where the boss can run rails over you and knocking you for huge damage. Stay clear of that blue static dome field that forms on ground below you and get the hell out as you see it forms. Stagger the boss when weak spot emerges or just focus take out one wheel at a time until it’s staggered and pelt the stagger damage spots. It’s one hell of a good fight. Keep your team alive all keys to success on boss.
I didn’t know how much of an evil bitch she really was until the Yuffie DLC came out a couple days ago. Seriously, she only cares about improving her mechs performance and considers the mass destruction and genocide of whole villages to be nothing but a field test to make better killing machines.
Honestly I though that boss was new in this game until I realized it was in the original. Really tells you how forgettable some of the bosses in the original (not all but some)
You can summon flowers protection shield , arcana ward and btc protection with aerith and using spells and manaward with barrett, easy method for beating this fight
0:34 you know with all the money that went into bulding this thing, the barriers it has for both magical and physical attack, the different weaponry it has from my homing shots to cannon shots, its ultimate attack, and different security measurements depending on how big the threat its facing is... you think it would be smart enough to aim a little down.
I'm actually surprised that the gun turret it has for a "head" is actually it's secondary gun. I think the original hundred gunner had the primary gun on the head, two auxiliary guns for arms, and then extra guns hidden in its chassis.
Wedge is hilarious in this. Oh no....a mystical wind, you can't stop me For Biggs and jessie and barret and Tifa. I'm sorry cloud. *window shatter* LOL WHAT.?! An ambiguous end for someone I dont feel anything for at all xD
Trevor Yong his lucky to have had the MP he had. on hard mode you cant use ethers or rest points to restore MP. only over time as you fight. I had Aerith on 10 MP and Barrett was only half full. but with Aerith being the main healer it was a lot of pressure.
Maybe because of this: Due to additionals, he remake's long enough to only take place in Midgar and Midgar was closer to end after Red's meeting. Also, Red might run too fast to be kept up by two-legged ones.
Guest character only. He'll be playable from Part 2 onwards tho. It's sad but I understand. No point adding a new playable character for the last 2 hours of a game.
@@valkyrion_ex1173 I disagree, theres several fights where he is clearly following AI controls that could easily have been player controlled, M.O.T.H unit etc hes just doing his own thing - would be much better to have full control given that he is a full time member from this point
@@Deathgaze2008 Eh, AI control doesn't necessarily mean fully functional. Look at certain game mods, like Kingdom Hearts 2, where the mods allow players to play as AI controlled allies but they barely have a fully functional moveset. It's likely they just didn't bother fleshing him out fully and left his moveset as an afterthought due to being so late in the game.
@@marcogarcia7944 They were awesome and so were the battles in general but when you're someone whose more interested in the story there are definitely too many.
I’ve always wondered how the hell shinra got the arsenal into the elevator I mean the only way to enter the elevator is through human sized doors so how did they get this big a$$ thing in there
There are other boss battles on a par with this one. Specifically Airbuster and Jenova Dreamweaver, because of their awesome soundtracks! The most challenging (especially on hard mode - at least for me) is the Ghoul in the Train Graveyard.
I hated this fight simply because I had the wrong materia equipped & there was no way of altering it unless you went back to before the Cloud v Rufus fight. Dreadful game design there I think. This boss took me an absolute age to beat & became boring.
When the cutscene is playing before the fight, in the left corner it will say square menus. press square during the cutscene and the menu will pop up before the fight
@@finalfantasymoogle3880 OMG thank you! I am going to have to play the first fight again but it wasn't that hard when you got the hang of it and now I don't have to sacrifice any of clouds abilities!
hahayourfunny94 no problem! It took me forever to finish this fight. Make sure you have multiple magic elements selected because it changes its weakness / resistance frequently !
i read salturation fire as salutation fire i was like well it sure fits who doesnt wanna get greeted by that kinda sad its no longer an elevator fight tho
Even as I am watching this I don't understand how he is hitting the "weak spot" in the second phase. You can't lock onto the weak spot, therefore one cannot hit it. Do you have to use lightning on it, because at NO point did it say you have to use lightning. Very disappointed in this game.
Bob Hammock I too am having issues and will try again tomorrow. The only boss that’s giving me trouble because I couldn’t find it’s weak spot and did like no damage for 30 minutes.
@@JohnSmith-fe3di I finally beat him, you have to use lightning on the canon when it's charge. and then you have to hit the body with lightning after. Not that they tell you that at all.
I had no problem targeting the weak spot. It only appears when it’s charging up the shot so. I didn’t realize that a game was bad unless they told you exactly how to beat every boss.
First at the beginning you have the option to change your materials / equipment. Secondly Aerith isn't that bad, you probably just don't know how to use Arcane Ward and Lustrous Shield.
And for a huge city Midgard was kinda small in the original Only few places to visit and not counting the upper plate Never get to visit the upper plate until the Remake
sooo now aerith is launching fairies with her battlestaff and the elevetor bossfightis not an elevator bossfight anymore ? :( and red is not a character anymore ?
@Charlie Reeder oh yeah that's true, oh well, i guess they'll want you to enjoy him like customize him and shit once he officially joins your party and not be disappointed that you're stuck with what you're given with him lol
I don't like how the game won't allow you to set the Materia for these two before this fight like for every other boss in the game as far as I can tell. This boss is basically broken if you have shit materia still set from another battle because you didn't assign it at the right time.
Didn't you see the beginning of this video? The person playing was able to access the menu before the fight. When I played I was able to access the menu as well to switch materia from Cloud to Barret before the fight started.
