Hey there! Been watching your channel for a while now, always enjoy your mixes a whole lot. ❤ ones like this always make me wish for an alternate past where we got to see FF7 on SNES :P Something that always strikes me though is the sprite art! Do you do it all yourself? I’ve very recently started translating my friends and I’s FFXIV characters into sprite forms and it’s been a lot of fun.. tons of fulfillment from wanting to do sprite art when I was a little guy. Got any tips on how to improve other than practice practice practice? One that sticks out to me is detail of your Cecil sprite in the Within the Giant video (and the picture in general is amazing), it’s so cool looking with the extra detail! Also are there any kinda sprite editors I should try out? I’ve just been using Paint but was hoping there’d be something out there that has graph overlays/a deeper zoom than Paint provides Regardless of if you can help our not, thank you so much for your content! Always appreciated ❤
Thanks! It depends on the video - some sprites are made from scratch, some are edits or taken directly from games like FFRK. I just use Photoshop - a Wacom tablet helps a lot too. Tip: start by trying to modify/edit existing works rather than 'starting from zero'. Using many references, copy/paste things to create a new one. From there, challenge yourself making further adjustments, then creating new details and so on.
@@Nugem Thank you for the tips! Made some River City Ransom edits and am pretty happy with how they look, I'll go from there! The FF6 tier of sprite art is probably my fav just because the combination of detail/expressiveness they hit on so wanna work up to that Thanks again! Keep up the great work!!
Been meaning to ask, Nugem, what part of these vids is technically you’re doing? Is the visuals of them? I know the music is credited to Matthew Valente.
It depends on the video - this is an EX so I didn't made the remix, but I made the animation using edited FFRK graphics. There's more details in my community posts.
