Final Fantasy VII (PS4) ALL Character Reactions To Aeris Death HD 720p 

During the battle that came before this, I got a flashback of when I first met her and dismissed her flowers, when we were running away from the Turks, when we tried to rescue Tifa by dressing up, and when she put herself in danger to protect Marlene. And she was always there, she's the main magic user, the main healer, everytime I swapped someone else to be the healer I go "this is Aerith's give it back to her later" Aerith will no longer talk, or laugh, cry.. get angry.. I'm equipping the shiva materia she always have on her at all times to Cloud, this way she can still fight alongside us

This is why I never understood why people pit Aerith and Tifa against each other. They were best friends, even more so in the remake, they would actually hate being compared to each other. They had each other’s back and genuinely had a sisterly love for each other.

Barret: Feels like crap, and probably feels like he let her down, by being unable to keep her safe, but he's still a bro and gives Cloud a comforting shoulder pat. Tifa: Feels like she lost another family member (Like an older sister). She cries and runs off after caressing Aerith one last time. Red XIII: Feels saddened and let's out a single mournful (howl? roar? IDK) in respect of her. Cait: Sith: Being a children's toy, he is supposed to try and entertain people and make them happy, but he can't due to the fact that any attempt would be terrible at this time. So he sulks after a failed attempt, probably feeling even more like crap. (Reeve also probably feels like crap too.) Cid: Feels bad for her, and solemnly looks up, probably saddened that someone as kind and brave as her would be killed just like that. Yuffie: She honors her comrade like a Wutaian would, but as she is still a kid, she can't handle the sadness and breaks down in Cloud's arms, who briefly comforts her. She then runs off, still feeling sad, but not in shambles. Vincent: As usual he shows no emotion, but he probably added this failure to protect Aerith to his list of sins that he believes he has committed and feels he needs to redeem himself for that as well.

You guys forget that that "dancing" animation is Cait Sith trying to read her fortune, trying to check if there's a way to save her, but when nothing comes out, he leaves, embarrassed of himself

Vincent's emotionless reaction says alot there. To me It's like he processing what just happened.. Though he doesn't care and just staring. Deep inside he harbors a great saddness for failing to save a life which will stick with him for life

Yuffie's animation for me was more realistic, she's still only a kid who im sure hasn't seen a lot of death. And having witness the only character in the team she respected says alot, which is why in Advent Children while one person wears one ribbon to show love for Aeris, Yuffie wore 3

Aerith dies and Cait Sith immediately starts hitting the griddy

i love how caith sith cannot understand so it just tries to cheer Cloud up... only to realize its futile, feels bad about it... and leaves

I think Yuffie's and Tifa's are the most saddening

When I first played ff7, I’d been well aware of Aerith’s fate; the game was over two decades old by then and had no secrets that I couldn’t look up at the swipe of my phone. It did nothing to dull the sheer sting of the ice I felt pierce my chest when I saw Sephiroth take her life before my eyes. In fact, the forewarning only made me dread the moment more. It’s a testament to the quality of a game when you care about its characters not as assets, but as people. It’s why I felt I truly lost a friend when Aerith was murdered. It’s why my mission to stop sephirotth went from being my duty as the player to being a personal quest to avenge a fallen friend. I respect sephiroth as being a wonderful villain, but as a person, his heartless murder of Aerith awakened a deep, unnatural hatred in me. I never finished the original game, but perhaps some day I will, if only to see that aerith’s killer be put down.

Man in my mind i think the most sad is by yuffie, after giving her goodbay she sees the face what cloud had in the moment and cant stop no crying seeing his reaction looking to aerith corpse (Both trying not to cry)

You know, the lack of dialogue makes this scene that much stronger. I bet in the remake it will be over 2 hours of cinematic flashbacks. Sometimes less is more

Recently felt the desire to play this… and got to this scene. I had taken Vincent and tifa in the moment because they were up in my rotation, but it felt right also. Everyone’s reactions are amazing, but tifa and Vincent strike me as the perfect setting. Tifa, a girl who lost her dad, was living a lie about cloud, and grew to really love Aerith as a sister and friend… she’s strong, she’s badass, she does her best to be strong and almost never cries… until now. She takes a chance to say her goodbyes, even if it hurts… but it’s too much. Aerith was a light in their life, and even the strongest people couldn’t control it… she lost a friend, her best friend. Vincent, especially with knowledge of the compilation and his whole story… makes tragic sense and feels like what cloud needed most… Ex-Turk. Had the love of his wife taken, his life taken, his humanity taken all by one man… and he blamed himself, and believed his punishment would come… he doesn’t emote, but in this moment, his actions are enough. He knows the severity, he acknowledged Aerith… but seeing tifa and everyone (I feel if it wasn’t for limitation everyone would be present) react… he remains stoic, and gives cloud a knowing look. ‘It’s hard… but you still have a chance’ Vincent has moments he shows he cares about the others, even if he’s cold and emotionless. He outright shows concern for cloud and tifa during disc 2, his dialogue is friendly to Cid and others… Vincent doesn’t emote… but as the compilation continues, it shows he was just as hit as the others, he cared about Aerith… but he remained strong for cloud… a young man, who lost his childhood, his life… could be a clone… he remained strong for cloud, because cloud needed to know it’s okay to mourn… even if Vincent doesn’t. Vincent knows the horrors of being an experiment. Replaying this game on a whim was the best choice I ever made… it’s all just my guesses and thoughts on things, but that’s how I felt about this… Vincent and tifa show the two important aspects of grief, and sadness… it’s okay to mourn, and it’s okay to break once in a while (tifa), but remember that someone understands and will be there, and push forward with you through and through (Vincent) This scene made my resolve and hatred for Sephiroth and hojo that much greater… and square did amazing portraying this feeling in such a way This entire cast is beautiful, amazing… and will forever feel empty without our light, the flower girl of midgar… we miss you Aerith

Strangely, Vincent's reaction was the most powerful. He's been in Cloud's position before, so he simply looks at him in a "Well, what will you do?" kind of way, almost like he worries that Cloud will step down a dark path due to losing someone he loves.

This scene in the remake may be too much to handle lol.

Yuffie not being able to hold her tears as Cloud tries to comfort her was heartbreaking

If they go through with it again in rebirth Yuffie is going to melt people's hearts in this scene. Aerith is the one character in the party who I think will try to welcome Yuffie and act like a big sister to her. Barret said in intermission he doesn't want to work with anyone from Wutai and the more reserved party members might find Yuffie a bit much and not connect with her the same way.

One thing I love about Vincent is hes witnessed so much death that even though it still matters to him and he gives Cloud a look, probably of sympathy, his emotions are just fried from all of the trauma.

Yuffie hugging Cloud just broke my heart. Rebirth is gonna kill us.

Sometimes I think people forget that Yuffie uses her immaturity to hide her true emotions. Her mask slips from time to time if you pay attention to her dialogue or movements. Aerith, Sonon, the fall of the plate even smacking Shelke in DoC. Sometimes her true self leaks out. I mean yeah she actually is silly, loud and childish. And she does act like she could careless but she does that as a means to protect herself. Girl has been through literal war. She probably has used her immaturity as a shield since she was a young child.

If Aerith is going to die in Rebirth, I'm hoping there would be resolutions for each character following her death, kinda like what we experienced in Remake following the destruction of Midgar Sector 7.

It's gonna be even harder to watch in the remake probably.

I've accepted the way they chose to handle things in Rebirth but man, I can only imagine how crushing it would've been to see some of these reactions rendered in that game's engine. Just watching Tifa and Yuffie's low-poly models here fills me with emotion.

One of the most emblematic scenes in video game history, period.

I always figured that Vincent was expressing sadness about it but he's not animated. Cid I thought was just standing there thinking it's a damn shame. I don't remember if it was the same backstory in the og but if it was, he was broken up because he knew Aeriths mother. Red howling out of respect, Tifa just losing and running off screen..makes sense since them 2 were the closest of everyone and loved each other..Barret trying to comfort Cloud for a few seconds. Cait Sith confused me but both theories I read in these comments make sense. Yuffie is my favorite reaction cause you see her trying to do things in the traditional Wutai way but being a kid she couldn't stopn herself from breaking down. Jumping into Clouds arms.... they had to comfort each other

... I just had a thought... Seeing Cloud comfort Yuffie reminded me a bit of Tifa's resolution scene in FF7 remake. In both cases Cloud comforts someone, only it seems he knows what to do with Yuffie (and not hurt her).

I remember playing this for the very time as a kid and teared up. Now…. Now for the remake…. Im ready to be hurt again

1:36 THAT one is the MOST TOUCHING with BOTH Red XIII AND Yuffie TOGETHER. Basically because you HAVE them BOTH in your TEAM.

In rebirth they kinda let it pass so fast, in the original they have a moment to react and mourn

Spoilers for INTERmission Yuffie has gone through the death of someone close in the new continuity. And given that Aerith is going out of her way to be friendly to everyone, I feel like the two will befriend each other. If they do go thrpugh with her death, Yuffie is going to be devastated.

Saddest reactions for me: Tifa> Barrett> Cid> Red XIII. Vincent's reaction was way subtle, Yuffie just made me anxious about materia and Cait Sith.. made me laugh at the worst timing.

Tifa didn't even turn to look at Cloud. I gotta say the best one's are Yuffie and RedXIII. Vincent was probably the worst one.

Tifa and Barret should be cannon on this scene on Rebirth, They were there with cloud since very beginning, especially their reaction, including Barret use to be mean to Cloud and turn out to be good friend afterward, Yuffie, She still a kid, I personally don't think she deserve to witness this, Not after Yuffie been through with Shannon Red is a animals, can't say I blame him, Nothing he can do but howling, Obviously not good as Barret and Tifa reaction Vincent and rest of the party feel unnecessary soooo yeah

At least in the remastered version she survives
