The EZ-Lift stand from EVT is widely considered THE work stand of choice (or of dreams) for tons of bicycle mechanics - but is it worth the hype????
In this video, Danielle walks you through the stand's ups and downs (heh) and gives the internet a clear picture of how it works, how much it lifts, and what to expect.
If you want to buy one, you can find that info here:

Make more videos!!! We had a pair of EVT in the shop. You need to lube the pole regularly for it to move easily. It slides A LOT better and lifts heaver bikes much more easily. I always left it up (overhead) when not in use, so it didn't come up and whack you, or stick you in the eye. I love the stand. You can lift a lot easier, and you can put the bike any way you want it, high or low. You can flip it upside down and dip the shifters in solvent, without even taking off the bar tape (or making a mess). The only thing I had problems with was the clamp arm rotation locking mechanism. It was always kind of in an awkward place that puts a lot of pressure on your shoulder if you aren't careful (elbow up over the bike). I switched it to the left side. If you have a bad back it's a lifesaver. Highly recommended.

Good tips! Yeah, the bottle of T9 they send with it is definitely just a sampling 😁 mine got better with time, lubrication, and use out of the box. I might have to give left hand a shot though...

Thanks for this. I've been trying to convince my boss to go with this model, but with no real reviews prior to this, he was not interested. Your video will definitely help!!

I'm lucky, the company I retired from 3 years ago bought me a Park PRS-33.2 electric lift stand as a retirement gift. They even cut the mast off at 80" to fit in my basement. Comes in so handy putting the bike exactly where you want it. I help out at a local Trek shop in the summer and we have 4 of these we use constantly. It's a good day to fix a bike!

e-bike lift 32.2 lbs. “on your own”: I have been lifting my 55 pound e-bike onto my stationary bike for months and hate it - borderline discouraging. You sold me when I noticed the lifting of the e-bike at 32.2 lbs with the bike already attached at the ground makes all the difference. On a stationary stand it is difficult to lift to shoulder height with two hands only to let go of one in order to clamp hoping you won’t faint. The only reward is when it’s clamped a thrill is sent through the body. I will take a 32.2 lbs lift without ever letting a hand go any day - thanks for a wonderful in depth view

I love my EVT stand for sure - and in your case it's the perfect solution. I'll also be receiving a test unit for the REMCO electric stand soon 🤘 I'm very interested to see how it stacks up!

I really appreciate the in depth and fun review. The simple elegance of this is more appealing than the motorized alternatives. But a little hard to justify when it's actually more expensive. You explained the lever arm issue really well. Makes me wonder if it would work better with the cable attached halfway out on the arm so it would counter the leverage as well as the weight. I think that in an industrial context, something like this would need a safety interlock to make sure you locked the height before releasing the bike. If I used it 10 times a day, I am sure I'd eventually screw up and get punched in the face.

I first encountered the flinging up if you forget to lock it down accidentally so I fully agree! I've debated the merits of a bike staying up where you stop vs being able to move it down (in conjunction with moving the cable out and drilling the drain hole larger). Walking around it to lower it is probably my least favorite part.

Why did it take so long to upload a new video??? There is a, maybe very exclusive, but very avid audience out here longing for high quality deep technical content. Even though we don't own or work in a shop. There are some fanatics out here looking for meaninful refreshing content. Thank you.

Awesome review - of what appears to be an awesome product. Thank you. :) Pricing may be fine for full-time shops - I suppose it's well worth it in the long run. And it's cool to see they can cut it to size right from the factory upon request (based on the website info) - my workshop floor is a just over 2 metres - probably not as high as 2.25 which is the total "default" height.

Would be interested in a bike check of the shan no5, thoughts, and why? I mean I dig it, steel full sus ftw. Or just a quick response if it's not channel content worthy

That frame rips! That was the first one, I know they have a few iterations now. They really hit the geometry, it's not noodly like you might expect from steel but it hugs corners and really accelerates on exit. Not a bad climber, but 140, slack headtube so not an XC bike. I have really enjoyed it. Being so ahead of its time, it's like it hasn't aged. Super competent. I can't pick out a single other frame I'd replace it with honestly.
