Apparently you think Sophie and Gabbys saddles will fit every horse they ever had. Not possible Laura, that saddle fits whatever horse it was made for, definitely won't fit every new horse you get. Ask a saddle fitter, it's a very skilled job to fit a saddle, even very experienced equestrians don't fit their own saddles.

Putting the saddle to far forward will cause irreversible damage to the scapula

You shouldn't be going through poultice that fast - you really only need to use it after a day of intense work, like a show where they've done multiple classes.

This is the problem... French saddle companies lead you to believe that one saddle fits all. They don't. They're awful for backs.

If you stop buying unnecessary expensive stuff like the clay and saddlepads. You'll have more then enough to pay for the things that actually matter to your horses, like a proper saddlefitter! One thats not associated with a brand/company. You are not knowledgeable enough to do that yourself! I own horses for more then 20 years. I cant remember the last time I bought a saddlepad but my horse her saddle gets checked by a professional every year, because her well being is what counts the most!

If this saddle was custom made for Sophie 4 years ago, how can it possibly fit her "better than ever " currently?? Kids grow a lot in 4 years! I'm sorry that saddle is way too small for her, it's not how she is sitting or the balance of the saddle, it's just too small for her. Get a saddle that fits Sophie and her new horse. You don't need a new custom saddle either, no one needs a 7k CWD/Antares/Butet to trot over poles.

She is running through that poultice! I’m a barrel racer and only use it on my horse after runs (which is close to every weekend). That same size tub lasts me MONTHS and i do full legs and back. You don’t need a giant gross thick layer. Also, it really isn’t doing much as soon as it drys, which is pretty quick if you aren’t keeping it wrapped overnight. Not much point at all in poulticing her after a very small w/t hack

When you say “Sophie’s saddle” - what do you mean - is it the saddle that Sophie likes to use? Which horse was it for??? Lady is a completely different shape to any horse you’ve ever had. And from what I can see briefly- I’m not entirely convinced it is a good fit. It’s got to fit in all the right places, allowing the horse to move its body freely. It’s also got to fit just aswell when Sophie is onboard. When you get a new horse, if it’s possible I always used to buy the tack that the horse had, or get a saddler booked for a visit asap.

Yes exactly. The saddle was made for Finn years ago. Finn was a pony. Lady is a large horse. There’s no way that saddle fits Lady. And it no longer fits Sophie. But good luck telling them that.

Also, the half pad she rode with (which appears to be an Ogilvy, or the shedrow knock off) is making the saddle fit horribly. You can see when Sophie is walking her around the arena that the back of the saddle is lifted off Lady’s back. And at the end of the video when she shows the saddle close up with the pad, the seat is not level. It’s too bulky of a pad. Less is more in a lot of cases. Putting too much “bling and matchy matchy” to be trendy is going to hurt the horse.

Every horse needs a personal saddle fit, your new horse is a completly different shape than your other's.

Please invest in an independent saddle fitter (not linked to a brand). We suspected an old dressage saddle would fit our current horse. Got fitter to check our suspicions and we were right BUT the interchangeable gullet had to be changed and the padding to make it perfect which we couldn’t have done ourselves and would not have been fixed by a saddle pad or riser/half pad!! You should be getting all your horses saddle fits checked at least annually if not more by a saddle fitter in person!!!

I would still get a saddle fitter into look at the saddle fit. You shouldn't need that much padding under a saddle to make it fit. I assume it's an easy adjust saddle the saddle fitter can just pop more padding in where Lady needs. For example, my saddle is an easy adjust and although my horse Is a standard gullet he needed extra in the back so it'd lay flat on his back. His a friesan x Clydesdale.

Horses are much more beautiful if they keep the feathers they are born with.

Laura, your glasses, go to a glasses repair shop. They look uneven and that can effect your vision a bit. Simple fix, they might even do it for free. Or you can study them to figure out what is causing that and carefully try to fix it yourself. I took a nose dive a few days ago and my glasses ear piece hinge bent a bit so the upper rim blocked high peripheral vision on one side. I felt better after getting them adjusted.

After watching the last video of Sophie riding, I don't think the problem is the saddle or her seat - it's her leg position. She needs to drop her thigh so it's underneath her body. Work without stirrups would help, so she can get used to having her leg under her. From memory (correct me if I'm wrong), Sophie isn't a fan of no stirrups but it's likely that her current leg position makes it harder than it should be.

Catching chickens is not easy. We always waited till they went to bed. Easy pleasey. Also we used Drykill on ours. It is a dust. We dusted them at night before we cleaned the coop. After cleaning the coop we dusted the walls crackes cages and wire before putting clean bedding. Washed all feed and water containers . Everything that the chickens came in contacted with. Even their favorite outside hangout places. Sometimes they can be molting or like you said roosters. Laura I'm with you on the feathers on horses. My are so beneficial to the horse. I feel that it just laziness when people like to cut them off. Plus Sophia learn how to trim the feathers properly. It takes skill to not having the hair look like a hack job. You want it look smooth and flowing. Love seeing you happy and the spark back in your eyes. Leg position is the key to hold proper position in the saddle. Laura do you not have a hoe. You can break the ground easily and then rake up the weeds. Or leave them to dry and break down to replenish soil. Place is looking good. Good Bless

My boyfriend thinks I have too many litter boxes for only having three cats. Maui and Vinny have one plus one extra for when I change out the litter at home and wash them out. I bought willliam one before I got him. I bought him another one today so he has an extra one for when I change out the litter at home and wash his original one out. I can't throw Eugene's boxes or bed away. 6 23 24 will be a yr he's been gone. I don't wanna be washing litter boxes all the time. I do it once a month at the end of every month.

Not sure how you can tell that the saddle fits from a video. But if you can, wow you should be a saddler fitter because that’s impressive!🤔 (extremely sarcastic)
