A fryer chicken is younger and more tender, a roaster is an older bird that needs to cook slower to become tender.

What an astounding haul of delicious dumpster delicacies! Frugal daddy you are a star,an amazing forager and gatherer. Frugal mum you and Prince Wally did a wonderful presentation! I love all that chicken, I would make soup,then can or freeze it. The red meat is fine, red meat reacts to the plastic wrap so it can discolour but it's still yummy . As I understand it, fryers are young chickens, older hens are for roasting.

Growing up we knew them as stewing hens, yes, due to the toughness/age. Makes ya think about how fast roasting chickens get to market.

It’s the lights in the stores that cause the meat to discolor like that If you turn it over it will be pink! My br I SC a meat cutter and so was my grandpa !

Those wire hangers looked sturdier than ones I usually see that are coated. I like the trellis material. Hopefully it does cut back on the weeding.

Fryer chicken is young usually less than a year old. Roasting Chicken is usually older don't lay eggs much anymore and most time they are hens .

Did you know you can peel a mushroom just like you you peel an onion skin. They look beautiful when you do this. Top layer comes off very easy with a paring knife.

Those two pieces of lattice retail for around $60.00 a piece up here . I have some of those on my front fence . They sit atop a horizontal fence . They’re great . Better than the wood lattice , you don’t need to paint them , and they don’t rot . Love it when you go to Big Lots . You get really good stuff ! Missed your dumpster diving adventures .
