Wouldn't it be a lot easier if you didn't have to control the face at all? Do people really think that after ~1000 years of R&D that we still need to manually control the clubface? Do you think pros are doing this when they're swinging at 100+ mph and they do it perfectly almost every time? The idea of that is simply ridiculous. The golf club is not a mindless stick with a lump of metal on the end. It's actually an incredible tool and marvel of engineering that can propel the golf ball farther and straighter than any other human powered device. And it's fun too! Well, if you're using it properly it is, if you're not, it's incredibly frustrating.
How do you define "using it properly"? Is controlling the swing path and face part of that? The pros spend thousands of hours practicing so they do that without having to think about it. I'm also not sure what you mean by the golf club is not some mindless stick with a lump of metal on the end...that's exactly what it is. Just because some clever engineering went into designing and building the club doesn't change that fact.
@@jgallone Well, there's is definitely a way to use it that makes it work and the way most everyone uses it that makes it very difficult. If you use it properly the golf club itself will do 90% of the work for you. All you have to do is give it some power and hang on. The engineering in a golf club is invisible to average user and most only discover it on accident when they hit that one shot when they're not thinking and everything goes right and the ball screams off the face straight and far. Once you understand how and why a golf club is designed the way it is and how to use it properly it's totally amazing and you'll have a great appreciation for the genius of it's design.
@@all-four-inches Of course you CAN but then you're putting a variable into the equation that doesn't need to be there. Just imagine how cool it would be if you could just depend on the face to do what it's supposed to without you actively controlling it ... That would leave you the ability to just swing it as fast as you can.
