Being a gearhead myself, this video tickled my fancy big time. Thanks Stan for putting this together! I hope they will be bringing these to GIE. Lots of good stuff!
Awesome seeing the YT community representing at this event. Toro gets some great free publicity/marketing. The MyRide looks like the best new offering by far!
My ride isn't new. Saw an exmark with it at my local dealer in 2015. I'm sure they have improved on it but it's been available on certain toro and exmark mowers for years.
I just watched Spencer‘s lawn care video and boy was his video much different than yours you just totally feel free with putting the equipment through the ringer right away love it brother keep up the good work
Great video Stan! Love when you go to events. You should try a Rode wireless mic clipped to your shirt next time, that way we can hear everyone better. Cheers!
Really entertaining to see you breaking the ice early in the morning at the beginning of the event and everyone’s reactions. No experience with toro but cool to see the new ideas, especially that mulch force mower
Red warning tags are great reminders. Worked at a BMW race shop owner would always stick on wheels to remind to properly torque lugs once the car was back on the ground.
If that’s the most comfortable mower you’ve ever been on you should try a Ferris, I’m confident nothing compares. Especially to our bumpy A** Scags. Although those cut great.
In all fairness-I have never tried a ferris. But that my ride seat compares to any air ride seat I have been on. Maybe better becuase your whole body is stabilized together. Like being on some weird ride.
Looks like a great showing! Thanks for sharing this behind-the-scenes look. We’re really sorry that we missed the event. We’ve been really impressed with the Toro equipment on our channel. -Chad #purplecollarlife
Looks like a great time! Hopefully I get invited next year. Looking forward to growing more so that I can take part! Awesome equipment, Im considering a Multi Force soon...
Considered The Industry Leader absolutely. I've never seen a market like this and given what Tesla and now Rivian have done to Detroit it really pays to always be producing free cash to stuff in the Bank or wherever even as this is going from great to "only going to get better" as Kubota and John Deere aim for Top Tier as well. Might need to build a storage tank for diesel on site as there is so much of it now and of high quality with far, far, far more on the way. That would be imports of *ALREADY* refined fuel product and not oil which the USA now exports and is a major exporter of.
Awesome video but I think those engineers and designers aren't being 100% honest when they say they have no idea what the product will cost. With every product I've designed or helped design, the engineering work has always included ensuring manufacturing costs are less than a spec'd cost. The manufacturing department is usually involved with providing more accurate costs as the design matures but the engineers, especially the more senior ones, stay involved with the costing. The costing and lowering the cost is usually a pretty big part of the work. Things like using fewer bolts (perhaps 3 larger ones instead of 10 smaller ones), larger radiuses on CNC'd parts (so larger, faster cutters can be used), switching to rivets or VHB film adhesives (instead of sheet metal screws), etc. are always considered and negotiated with manufacturing. We may not know exactly what a product will sell for but we know what they cost to manufacture and have a pretty good idea what the product will sell for.
I spent 18 hrs on the kubota this weekend. My back is destroyed but I had a lot of fun making a trail nice and muddy. I like mud. That massive mower looks cool and that grandstand with snowblower. I wonder if you could get and mower deck and snow plow for it?
Irritrol is a Irrigation manufacturer. Their 3/4” and 1” inline sprinkler valves are designed poorly. But they do make ok timers/controllers. Rainbird has the best quality irrigation valves and products. At least here in the southwest
Is there something that will allow you do use the dump bucket as a grass collector? So you can use it collect without having to worry about towing anything, then just dump the clippings out the front.
I kind of had to chuckle when you were wrapping the tree with the battery powered stand on. The engineer said something about going to another screen and lowering the ground speed so it works better. My first thought was, nobody is going to do that 😂. Great video though!
actually I do. I find myself lowering the speed on my other battery powered mower when I know I need control. Once you get used to it -it comes in handy.
This video is awesome!!! Not only did you make a great video Stan but the equipment was awesome and you was there with one of my other favorite lawn Care influencers which was Spencer Lawn Care.
I remember way back when Toro bought Lawnboy . Now look at them ! When I was wrenching The only thing I worked on really was the gearboxes of the front wheel self propelled walk behinds but they have come along way since then !
Just got an quote to add the snow blower to my multiforce. I already have the low flow for the plow which was about 1200. To add the high flow and the snow blower is most another 7500
Was wondering if you were still in contact with Toro. Do you still have some Toro mowers? I remember you slagging off Toro and the turfmaster a few years ago. Cool video.
That front dump bucket would make a nice attachment for a dingo due to its width and availability to add to the height of the dump. Other companies are already making this attachment.
I am kinda sketch about those battery power snow equipment because you lose so much battery running it in the cold and they really don't last long at all and(in my experience with lithium batteries) they tend to wear out faster than batteries run in warmer tempuratures ie lose capacity
@@Dirtmonkey yeah but I wonder just how many years it will last going through temperature cycles like that and I wonder if there would be any run time benefits by somehow running heat from the motor and maybe a small heat source but I am no scientist so I can't tell ya haha
@@Dirtmonkey yeah but it will be interesting in a couple of years and a lot of companies are making new battery technologies which is actually pretty interesting so it will be neat to see how technology develops especially in the next 10 years
Great video. That’s cool stuff. Is the batwing ztr considered part of the golf division? Hopefully with toro dollars Ventrac will get a half size bigger chassis and fit a good sized diesel.
We Had a Green Work Demo this Summer with there Electric mower. How was the low speed control. I Found they could have used some Sensored Motors (Better Low Speed Control) for the Forward Back was Hard to Drive Around Flowerbeds. Could also have been Non-Linear Controls. Another Great Video Stanley.
Where have you been all my live. I love your channel. Just discovered you on Josh’s channel. That. Video was so much fan to watch. I’ll be binge watching your videos this weekend.
I still have the good old wheel horse riding mower with the 42" deck I mowe with, and I love it I have a 3 yr old Ford tractor with a bigger ass deck but if I'm mowing my house instead of the shop I pull the old wheelhorse out and I have an original snow plow and a snow blower and some other attachments for it and they are all like new I have kept them in perfect condition through the years. Every winter I take the deck off and take all the covers and stuff off and clean it and wax it all down
I think the Multiforce was neat as all get out. Plus I have never seen a battery powered stand on. Ive never seen that before but maybe its not that cool to you. It is to me.
@@Dirtmonkey it's kind of like when they went to all the electronic crap on an automobile. People use to be able to diagnose and fix their own vehicles. Now you've just about have to have a degree in computer science to fix your ride. I view a battery operated lawn mower the same way but in not as good of a light.
I love all the battery equipment! Hopefully you can do a couple videos on those at GIE! (mean green, green works, etc.) Also, was that a three wheeled mower I saw in the background at one point?!? Great video!!!
@@Dirtmonkey Yes, please. Your presentation is more of a big kid in a candy store, makes it MUCH MUCH more engaging and you gloss over the marketing BS. It's why I watch - ZM from Canada
Great video!! The I beam design has been on bad boy for couple years now. The tires as well came from bad boy. The oly difference is bad boy calls their tires turf reapers. Great informational video as always. Love how u are always hard on things.
@@Dirtmonkey yes sir. I have 2 and have nothing but good to say about them. From the quality of cut to service. I am hard on them. Put my rebel thru more than I should have. But I also put carlisle 101 tires on it and Wut a world of difference. I also turned the treads back wards and wow at the grip. Just have to be careful on turns. But I mow rough steep back country yards and grip is essential.
Are they marketing the battery push mowers toward the guys holding on to the old 2-stroke lawn boys? Or are super off kilter lawns just not as popular?
a trencher digs a pretty skinny trench. I use a min excavator with a small bucket but that lets me get the drainage aggregate in the trench how I like it.
@@Dirtmonkey I got a project that has bad water retaining areas and they want me to install 2 layer retaining walls they are already having issues with water filling flower pot holes that are 1.5 feet down and we would need something small enough because there is only 3 feet area to work along the current fince
As the soil moves below from the high water table any subject matter will along with it. meaning that the soil movement will be relfected in the retaining wall no matter what the height.
I was with you until the snow blowers Stan. But seeing we don't have standing snow at my Elevation in Australia I fast forwarded a bit. But not enough to notice the Mower deck still is able to be kept on. That's got to be a industry game changer. P.s. what's your thoughts on the big battery mowers, fad or a stayer. Aussie Jeff
Stayer- battery power won't go away. Its the new wave in technology and these guys are the early adoptors. This will put them ahead in the battery game as far as market perception as that industry grows. Meaning they are early to the game which gives them an overall advantage in a game that is a marathon not a sprint. Make sense?
That’s cool vid I bought my second toro last year when the shortage was here in sc I got the last a master they had for a few months but I got the toro engine 24.5 hp with a 52 inch cut z master 2000 and it’s been the best mower I’ve ever owned oh yes it’s got the 8 inch spindles apparently the 4000 and 3000 has 9 inch spindles I also cut a lot of rough places so that mower been put to the test it dose great
The way they test their equipment is next level! It is the most incredible testing facility I have ever been in. To bad I can't show you guys. It would blow your mind.
@@Dirtmonkey that’s awesome! Some people complain about them being too expensive. If they could just see how the equipment is made and improved over the years, they would appreciate the price more. Without toro a lot of other brands wouldn’t exist!
I have that 4000 HDX it's a bad machine but my hustler I still like as much or more. Those tires are good on flat dry surfaces but they suck on damp grass or hills.
@@Dirtmonkey Now I can tell you the front edge of that deck will not budge I was running about 10 mph and hit a steel 5"water pipe with valve inside it and it stopped me and almost threw me off the mower. Barely chipped the paint.
I feel sorry for any lawn care companies that will will be forced to use battery powered mowers. No way they will carry the load of a 12 to 16 hour day of hard core mowing!!
