The bikes looking good but I also think the front mudguard doesn't work, great work ,lots of challenges and you've sorted them all , you should be very happy with it , really looking forward to seeing the finished bike , keep the vids coming , most enjoyable watching

Thanks David, I hearing you all on the mudguard. I don't disagree as it is a very modern shape, so will be considering other options.

Looking good! You can get plastic bead protectors for fitting tyres, also white dot on the tyre is the lightest point and should go near the valve although probably won't make much difference for the intended use of your bike, don't expect you will be doing motorway speeds! Rims locks are a good idea if your going off road, stops the tyre slipping on the rim at low pressures, I have them on my BSA but they make fitting a tyre even more of a challenge!

Very nice tire change trick there 😂 Next is to figure out the rear part of the frame? Perhaps the front fender is a bit big as well? It could just be my taste, but I think it's a bit unbalanced as it looks now. Very tall and dominant front compared to the rear 🤔

All good points. The front fender is likely to be changed, it was just what i had on the shelf. It is the back end I'm most unsure about, but have a few possible ideas.

Got to be happy with that mate. The only problem i have is that, when you clicked your fingers, my grinder cutting disk changed to a flap disk.
@RyansGarageUK
@RyansGarageUK 11 месяцев назад
There is a lot of good tasks completed with a flap disk. 😄👍

Ryan, there is a white dot on the tire. This must be placed near the valve. Use first talcum powder on the inner tube. So that you can easily twist the tire. Good luck.

Hi, I didn't know that. It should be fairly simple to push the tyre off the bead and rotate it. Thanks.

@@RyansGarageUK have a look at car tyres Ryan, there's a red dot & a yellow circle. Easier to google than type it all out here

There you go, last week I said the tank looked a bit big. Well, with the rear tyre on it looks great ! Yes the tank looks great because of the rear tyre! Just shows, don't make any big decisions without a full mock up. That's me reminding me not you. Lovely job Ryan, I'm so jealous even though I own a perfectly great enduro bike I still crave the old xl . Which is pretty much what you're assimilating. Bloody love it! Peace and love brother as always ✌️ ❤️

Thank you for your highly encouraging comments. Truly appreciate them. I also own a CRF450x and it is wonderful. But this will be totally different. Keep smiling. 👍

I think the tank still looks a bit bulky, maybe knock some indents into it for your knees like a Brit bike? CB500t tanks from the 70's can be made to fit dream frames and look quite stylish as well.

Yeah Ryan, definately better with the fatter tyre. Fitting the tyre went well. I'm not game to film my tyre changes as it usually guarantees it will turn into a disaster.

Thanks, it is one job that I have done many times on the trails, when I used to ride off road often.

Great work Ryan, I 've never tried to change a tyre but you make it look easy, if you dont mind me asking what size is the rear tyre ?
@RyansGarageUK
@RyansGarageUK 11 месяцев назад
Hi Pete, Thanks. The tyre that it now has is 18-4.00 and I think it's right now, but the swinging arm looks like to might just accept 18-4.50 at a push.

Do you think a revvy twin will be any good off road??
@RyansGarageUK
@RyansGarageUK 11 месяцев назад
I'm just expecting a nice relaxing not to heavy unique bike that will take tracks and trails. It wont win any off road competitions.

Tyre width is related to what rim you have fitted. It looks like you have a WM3 (2.15in) rim, which is going to need a 4.00-4.50 tyre. Avoid the really cheap Chinese trials tyres, as they are very poor in the wet.
@RyansGarageUK
@RyansGarageUK 11 месяцев назад
Thank you. I did figure that out, but later than I should of. 😄

@@RyansGarageUK Tyre sizing is not straightforward. When you are fitting a tyre, always have the valve stem nut, pretty much at the very end of the thread, so you can push the stem into the wheel, so the tyre bead will go into the well of the rim fully. No real need for tyre levers, when fitting trials tyres, as they are very soft. A large rubber mallet and some heavy duty work boots is all you need.
