All, i mean ALL the good metal is in Europe now. Only one good band in north america anymore and that's in Vancouver. The corporate record labels killed metal here!
72 seasons is 18 years. The song is about the first 18 years of life and how opinions, whether good or bad, mold a person and their thought process. That’s what I got from it
There's lots of bands out there that are the same age, or close, as these guys and making even heavier, more aggressive music still eg. Exodus, Kreator, Sodom, Destruction, Obituary, Overkill, and they're not touring lifestyle is harder than Metallica's. I would give Metallica credit though for the length of their sets. I have no doubt it's harder as you get older, you just have to be smarter about how you tour.
@@Gregbaltzer I like many of those bands but how many are still playing with basically the same lineup(other than bass) for 40 years? Metallica has much wider range of fans so because they have so many different sounding albums it’s much harder for them to please everyone.
@@paulquarty2456 Obituary has been Donald, John, and Trevor since their inception. There are very few bands in existence that have maintained a stable line up regardless of what genre of music it is. Rush, and ZZ Top being one of the few exceptions.
@@Gregbaltzer Some of those bands don’t have Metallica longevity and stardom. Metallica is made and can make whatever music they want. Music is made based on the vibe you in not just to please the fans. Metallica listens to different kinds of music and are influenced as well. Even they said they can’t make the same music they use to. I’m glad they change it up, shows growth and depth.
@@PiazzaGurl How can you say they don't have Metallica's longevity when they've been around just as long as Metallica pretty much? And I'm sure lots of people will still enjoy their albums once they're gone. Maybe they don't have the stardom, but who gives a shit about stardom? I don't like to a band because of their star power. I listen to a band because I like their music, even if I'm one of 5 people who like them. Honestly though, St. Anger was made to try to fit into the times and it failed epically. But my point isn't about the music they make it's about how they're not special for playing the music they do at their age because there's tons of bands who have been around just as long who are playing even harder music, and making better albums.
@@eward5572 I know they did fade to black I'm not sure if they did ride the lightning I know they've done a lot of songs off of that album though just go look through their video list
@@eward5572while they’re at it, the whole album is crazy, might aswell listen to the whole album, Creeping Death is one of my favourites from the album, but I mean the whole album is as I said crazy, not even 1 bad song on the album
As soon as the song started playing, my cat looked at my computer. Then jumped up on my desk watching and listening. Even he is getting down to it. Has me busting up laughing. LOL Great song Love you guys. You always have the best reactions. May I request Tim McGraw - Don't Take The Girl (Official Music Video)? I'm glad I subscribed so long ago. Always looking forward to your next.
You all capture the wonder, majesty and energy of true Metallica fans. Your reactions are always honest and entertaining. Keep up the good work fellas.
No politics isn't even true. Everything is political. You can make an anti-war song not political. Their song "Cyanide" is obviously political. Anything meaningful is going to push away people just as it will attract them. Everything is political, politics encompass everything.
Hey Brock! It was so wild meeting you at The Texas Relays! Along with Track and Field, Heavy Metal is one of my passions. It's a blast watching you guys expand and teach others how to do so themselves.
This has GOT to be one of the best reactions channel ever. I been a Metallica fan since 11 yo and i can tell your reactions are real and passionate. Love how you dig into the songs and the stories behind them. Keep it up guys!
There will never be a Metallica like the old Metallica but their new music is still awesome. I’ve been a fan since 1985 and they will always be my favorite band. I don’t know how they do it but they still killing it all these years later. I can’t wait for April 14th for the whole album drop!!
I can’t wait till November 3-5th I’m seeing them on their 72 seasons tour! Both nights.. Mammoth WVH, Pantera, Ice Nine Kills, 5 Finger Death Punch and METALLICA (30 songs: 15 each night) 🤘🤘🤘
gotta say the youtube comments are way nicer than the instagram comments, its nice to see that people still acknowledge that theyre still human, rather than elitist just trashing on them cause they arent as good as when cliff was still with us and their new music is just as good as their old music (in my opinion), old metallica is fuckin awesome but their newest stuff is amazing too xD !!
I sat here w/ gentleman & heard that song, saw that song, for the 1st time. The intro was out of control. I loved it. Super big fan…saw them back on their Reload tour
I’ve been a big Metallica fan for like 20 years, I love them, even named 37 songs off the top of my head when asked to name 3. So this isn’t hate or being a hater But this song was mid Lux Aeterna still the best new song
Most people reacting to the new music are upset of the sound and changes but yet, new Gen is appreciating it. So Metallica is doing something right. If you a fan, then that’s it’s you follow no matter what. Love that y’all are digging Metallica. I’ve always loved them and mainly music people didn’t like because the songs when you listen closely, they actually vibe and the lyrics hit.
I love watching you guys react to stuff i grew up on man. This makes my heart happy. Keep expanding music! If guys are digging Metallica, and want some different, deeper stuff, try Bleeding Me, Spit Out the Bone, Unnamed Feeling.
“Is there a special meaning to the title?” you ask. James explains it best: “72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is reenactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry.”
the guys in metallica are on fire with this fast, heavy metal clean vocals and as really good strong lyricist playing is tight but they know what they want everything to sound like and that awesome
Y'all a trip! 😁 Always get a kick from your reactions, but this was one of my favorites. 😅 Metallica my favorite band of ALL TIME. This video is AWESOME, and the song is KILLER!!! 💪🤘👏🔥 Can't wait to hear the rest of the album, and look forward to seeing y'all reactions! 👍
Metallica has always killed. I think the problem is with albums like load, reload and St Anger they aren't as liked because they didn't have the metal feeling they were known for, the awesome thing about Metallica is every album is a stand alone and isn't intended to sound similar to the last. There are riffs I hear on this album that remind me of death magnetic, kill em all, hardwired to self-destruct but with a new age tune. It's absolutely incredible how the guys always have something new with a little taste from the past. I love Metallica so much.
Metallica fan since the very first album, and of course I'm going to be opinioated...so far, this is a damn cool song, still dig "Lux" better but this is 2nd best...so far...the new album drop will be epic
Eva Cassidy, time after time. It’s a cover but one of the best performances and owns the shhh out of it!!! Once in a generation talent, she was amazing!
72 seasons- the first 18 years of one’s life is 72 seasons. The title track to the new album for which the concept is how the first 18 years of your life form you.
man you guys tripping me out with the reactions. I'm 50 years old and for me this is 83-88 Metallica in this song. I can hear about 6 bits of songs from there first 4 albums in this one song . Cliff Burton would be proud. Hell even Dave. Kirk solo has a little Mustaine sound in it from back then
I didn’t love the song the first time I heard it. This is maybe my third or fourth listen and it gets better each time. The new album will probably grow on me.
Great video guys. This was a banger and best one yet on the new album. I love watching you guys. Y'all are very smart and opinionated but y'all make me laugh my ass off. Thank you guys. And always looking forward to the next one. Thanks
To see them go so hard at about 60 yrs old inspires me. I've been rocking them since the start and I'm 51. I love to watch your reviews!!!! You should check out notorious big with korn,"wake up" killer song.
Let's hear some Rick Derringer, One Eyed Jack, Sittin' By The Pool, Drivin' Sideways, I Didn't Ask To Be Born. These are funky rocky groovy awesome little numbers!
Hi guys, I’m new to your channel and have been checking out some of your past content. You guys have awesome taste, I know every word to almost every song you’ve listened to, especially Nirvana, Metallica, Black Sabbath, LINKIN Park and Three Days Grace. Some songs I recommend are Hey Man Nice Shot by Filter, Mr Brightside by the Killers, Dani California by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Paranoid and Iron Man by Black Sabbath, Feel Invincible by Skillet, Smoke on the water by Deep Purple, Rooster by Alice In Chains and Lithium by Nirvana. Keep up the awesome job, you guys are great!!
80's and early 90's metallica is still the best music from them, but this album slaps. The fact these guys are 60+ and still able to make good music is so impressive. it seems like music changes with the times every 5-10 years and these guys have been able to navigate through all the mainstream changes over the last 40 YEARS and still make their own original "outside" music that people enjoy. These guys are rock/metal gods. I just wish I was alive in the 80-90's to see these guys live at their peak.
I love watching one of my favorites through new, young eyes. You approach all music with open minds and don't have negative things to say. This old white woman is a huge fan of your channel.
Y'all should check out Cliff Burton's bass solo. He was a madman on that thing and it will blow your minds. He was the original bassist for Metallica before he was tragically killed in a tour bus accident.
Do you take song requests? Specially if you want to see Saruman singing. If you do take requests check out rhapsody of fire wizards dream. Wonderful piece with Christopher Lee singing.
No filler all killers. I love this whole album front to back. Every song kicks ass. Better than last 2 discs which are really good too. And I’m tired of “fans” saying this is not as good as their old stuff. Ok. That was 30+ years ago! They are in their 60s playing and creating new thrash. Y’all need to listen to Hit The Lights again. “We’ll never stop, We’ll never quit cause’ we’re METALLICA!!!”
Check out the hyphy movement. Listen to E-40, Too Short, Mac Dre, B-Legit you can even go back as far as RBLPosse. One of the first rap songs is Too Short Freaky Tales. Had a cassette tape in San Jose back in the early eighties when too short with selling them out of the back of his trunk
You don't call into light! James Hatfield, lead singer is over 60 years old and sounds like he's still in his 20's! Love how they can keep it clean and new! Love you guys anyway for some reason! Lol
@@ShifuCareaga If you mean "Load", then no. I think since the tragedy of Cliff, Metallica lost an edge to it's soul that hasn't been regained, although this is still far better than their stuff from previous decades.
