Ding Dongs always look like hockey pucks. They’ve always been my favorite Hostess snack. When I was a kid in the 1970s they came individually wrapped in aluminum foil, a very distinctive memory unwrapping those.

My stepdad is half Native American and his mom (my grandma) is full Native from Montana. I slept with a dream catcher above my bed for years as a child. She loved making them and giving them as gifts. My daughters have one too. Bad dreams are a bad omen for certain tribes and they have made these leather and fabric and feather dream catchers for centuries. Treasure it. Hang it above your bed.

Not only are Little Debbies made here but also MOON PIES! Recky, put one in the microwave and when you see the marshmallow, in the center, puff up, take it out and eat it with a fork. It's like eating a soft s'more! I'm betting you'll love it!

The McKee Bakery, who produces Little Debbies, is here in the area where I live (in Tennessee). I grew up on these because you can go to discount stores, all over our area, and find them at great prices. They are definitely yummy!

Maybe we have to go to a larger city for filipino, pakistani, ethiopian foods, but for us it is not a question of "will we have" but rather, "when will we have"?

Slather honey buns with butter and warm them up a few seconds in the microwave. You will have a greater appreciation of them.

You must add sugar to kool-aid!

Put the honey bun in the microwave for a few seconds. So amazing. Even better put it in a pan with some butter and toast or grill on both sides.

You can use slap ya mama anytime you’d use salt and pepper. It’s a great all purpose seasoning to meats, vegetables, and soups or stews. I use that seasoning to make gumbo. One pound chicken thighs, one pound sausage(I use smoked pork and venison or andouille), three celery stalks, one yellow onion (about the size of a softball 🥎),one green bell pepper, one bunch green onion, half cup oil, one cup flour, about 8-10 cups water, a few bay leaves, 1/4 cup chicken bouillon powder, and about 1/4 cup of the slap ya mama seasoning, white rice. Start the water boiling in the biggest stock pot you have and add the chicken bouillon powder and chicken thighs. Heat the oil med low and brown the flour, stirring constantly, until it’s about the color of wet cocoa powder to make your roux. Dice vegetables and add the yellow onion and the white tips of green onion to the roux first and get them almost transparent then add the celery and bell pepper. Save the diced green part of green onions for last to add. Take roux mixture and add to your thighs and boiling water , add the seasoning, add bay leaves, and once you have it combined well turn down heat to medium. Give that about 5-10 minutes and maybe a stir halfway through and then add your sausage. Let that cook down stirring every 10 minutes maybe for 30 minutes. Skim off the fat that will accumulate on top (I get as much as I can out) and then add your diced green onion tops. Cook that about another 10 minutes and it’s done. Serve over white long grain rice. We usually have buttered French bread 🥖 with it.

bourbon has a flavor without the alcohol that is really good. With Vanilla its great.

Speaking of Billy the Kid, there’s an alternate theory that he survived the New Mexico shootout, and lived to be an old man in Hico, Texas, dying about 1950. That man was buried in the neighboring town of Hamilton, where the cemetery has a symbolic marker for him (it’s been lost which plot he was actually buried in). Hico has a Billy the Kid museum I’ve visited. That said, I’m pretty sure the theory is bunk and the old man in Hico was playing one last prank on everyone.

Peanut butter crunch is my favorite. I eat the outside first and then the center.

A receipe I like to use your Slap Your Mama in is Seafood Bisque. 1/2 stick of butter 1 cup chopped onion, bell pepper and garlic 1 pound small shrimp 1 can corn 1 can cream style corn 2 cans cream of potato soup 1 pint half and half 1 cup milk 1 or more teaspoons of Slap Your Mama Cajun seasoning Sauté onions, peppers and garlic in the butter Add shrimp and cook for a couple of minutes longer. Add spices then pour in other ingredients and bring to a boil. Turn heat down to low and simmer until you are ready to eat. Serve with garlic bread.

Trust in me....warm the honey buns up in the microwave for a few seconds...maybe 7 or 8 seconds is all. They taste amazing warmed up.

You can open the Slap Ya Mama by pressing the round part of a spoon on the white part of the lid.

Most of these snacks are put into kids lunch boxes. At least my lunchbox. Usually a sandwich and a snack. As you grow, these snacks are great with a cup of coffee.

Hershey ( I know alot of people don't like their chocolate) Well Hershey bought out Reeses n now Hershey has become the best chocolate business, I lived near Hershey from 50's- 70's n would visit the factory once a year. They gave a tour n at the end of tour they gave you 2 very large chocolate bars n big bag of kisses. Now I hear they only a tiny bag of kisses. Back then we didn't have Resses. I wonder if now they still give tours n give Resses to people. I may check it out
