I was literally just telling my 13yo daughter that your personality is so very different than other people who do videos of this nature, well, ones that I’ve watched anyway. I watched one in which the instructor had an incredible voice but she spoke sort of sarcastically about common pitfalls when you’re singing-it was somewhat discouraging. I just started playing ukulele and I’d love to put the vocals with it. You have just truly inspired me to feel comfortable doing it. You’re right about being afraid to free the voice as a beginner-yes. Thank you for your humble and calm demeanor. You may not know how much it’s appreciated. I’m going to see what you offer in the way of paid-for things because I’d love your instruction while at the same supporting such a wonderful human. Sincerest thanks from a very, very beginner. ❤️✨🙂

I took singing lessons at 16. After one lesson, the teacher told me to forget it. I know I don’t have a special voice, but wanted to do the best with what I had. I had been excepted in choir in Highschool so I could sing. I figure if Willie Nelson can do it so can I. Just want to be confident. Trying again, at 65. Thanks for your video.

Fresh, yet old school...appealing to every demographic...your tutorials and engaging, b.s.-free coaching style clearly separate wannabes from the real deal...as I view each video,I can't help getting a vibe of being one among chosen students, who've secured a coveted seat to learn at our muses' feet. Unlike the majority of the other people here, I am genuinely a horrible singer. When I try to sing/hum I literally can’t get the air out, and if I do, I sound like a dying donkey. This isn’t to vent or anything like that, just to say that I started at a horrible singing quality. I’m still not good, far from decent, really, but your videos have helped so much. I can actually get the air out now. It’s almost as easy as talking. I am very motivated and will come back every day until I have my dream voice! Thank you so much

Breathing in into the the diaphragm and working on that part of the body supports singing. Deeply breathing in, like those doodle sack instruments the amount of controlled air makes the tone and the pressure on the air in the instrument. The voice opens in it's different ranges, that is at least what I had learned. Breathing is essential. A Voice should never be pressured in any way, it hurts her.

Wow. My story is exactly the same. I love singing, but never felt confident enough to believe that I could do it. About 4 months ago, I also joined my worship team at church. Like you, I also want to also develop my voice, build up my confidence and just focus on singing to God. When I visualize singing to God, I no longer feel scared, I just want Him to be pleased. But I still need work on believing in myself. I feel like it's a talent he wants me to grow and perfect. So we're on our way. Just remember who you're singing for and He will give you what you need or direct you to where you need to be. You got this!

To find your natural singing voice, you need to sing songs in the exact some voice you speak with, which doesn't mean it should sound the same... But what many a singer who starts out misunderstands is you need to sing with the same relaxation as if you were speaking, you don't have to strain yourself to speak normally do you, so starting by speaking the words to a song first (in tune and on key obviously) will help you reach your natural singing voice in a relaxed way, without damaging your voice from the outset by trying different tembres or techniques you don't know how to do properly.
@nubiasista9709
@nubiasista9709 2 года назад
Makes a lot of sense. When I’m relaxed and absent mindedly singing a tune I heard, it sounds so much better than when I’m in the mindset of actually trying to sing cause then I can feel the strain. The problem is I don’t know how to train my body to not those muscles and I guess that is what vocal training is all about.lol

I was born with a naturally low voice. My mother was concerned and brought me to the pediatrician to check my vocal chords and he calmly said, “That’s Aimee’s natural voice”. As a child it was funny in the beginning of a school year the new teacher didn’t know my voice, when she or he called my name, “Here” always raised to home room teacher’s head to make sure I wasn’t playing around. 😂 I’ve fully enjoyed having a low, husky voice. Some think it’s sexy however it’s hard to know what is my true alto. I would love to sing better for my own enjoyment, so here I am. Thank you for your guidance. (I grew up in the NYC area but have lost a regional accent from moving a bit) Ok, time to listen and learn. 😁

That helps so much. I was always afraid to hit certain notes thinking that I couldn't but it was because my throat was so tight and constricted blocking the sound. I have extreme power even in high notes in chest voice when I just open my throat. It's amazing. Thank you

I am a new sub, after watching a prior video I am hooked. Years ago I had to quit choir singing because I was getting sore throat all the time even though we did warm ups. I am hoping to ease back into it and I like how you are breaking it down in small steps. Can't wait to see what the next steps will be. You are a wonderful teacher. 💗

I have been practicing to your lessons but three days, and have learned a lot. To the point where I am sometimes able to feel the buzz, open my throat, project my voice to the front and back all at once - and importantly, sing in a much more relaxed manner throughout the entire range of one of my own songs in a way that was not possible before. I plan to keep after your valuable lessons. I really appreciate the tab at the top left of the screen with the list of the vocal exercises. This makes it easy for me to follow your suggested order of instruction as well as to find videos focussed on specialized areas of instruction. You really know how to effectively convey your extensive and deep knowledge such that a person can learn quickly. Thank you very much.

This is my first time "here" - I have never taken any voice lessons though I come from a very musical family ~ I am just gobsmacked I'd never learned any of these things about voice training & pretty much gave up singing when my mother told me I was "tone deaf" - funny though, I can spot talent with my eyes tied behind my back! LOL Excellent intro - thank you!

Hi Victoria, I never usually comment on videos, but I had to for this one. Your video helped me get over a huge barrier that was keeping me stuck for the longest time. I've always been able to support the voice, but I knew nothing about opening the throat. This really helped me to do that and now I can reach notes that I've never been able to before. Thank you so much for this video. Keep up the amazing work :)

It is interesting I always come across the perfect video of yours with the exact message and training tools I need. When I watched this video, I realized I was parroting other people's voices. I look forward to practicing these tips and finding my voice instead of doing voice mimicry. I have to say your tips are so excellent because I get something out of them and can feel and hear the change immediately. Many thanks! I love the passion you bring to all of your videos.

I love you so much already. I’m a long time choir singing , first time solo singer and I’m stepping out as a Mezzo Soprano when I’ve always hidden down with the 2nd altos and tenors 😂. The thing about the him mixed with open throat is amazing!!’ I feel like I’ve jumped up five levels

Victoria is a true professionals professional, in every sense of the word, from any I have seen on video, her explanatory formula is unique & effortless. Plus she is a sweet Lady, whom I would love (as a singer) to have her as my tutor, I could imagine Victoria would make a crow sing.
