To be perfectly honest, I didn't see a resemblance with most of them. I think your point at the end was spot on; we're so used to seeing you in vintage fashion that when we see a portrait of a pretty lady from any time between the Edwardian period through the '40s, we might be reminded of you. Most of these, I don't think anyone would have made a connection if you typically wore 2020s clothes and a 2020s hairstyle. On the other hand, while it was a cute trick showing pictures that mostly don't look like you so we would think you're not an immortal being, you slipped up by showing a few that are obviously actually you. So, nice try.
If you search long enough, everyone has a doppelgänger in history, however I wasn't super impressed by those who were sent to you (apart the one from your thumbnail) None of the noses were "right" and even the face structure usually was quite different. Everyone was beautiful though ^^
It would definitely be harder for some ethnicities and such to find their doppelganger in art or pictures, but if you include unrecorded history I totally agree
@@mustbeavalidhandle Very true, I myself as a persian/Afghan, won't be able to find a dobbelgänger as easily as 1. The art was more abstract at times and 2. There is less recorded realistic art/photography in comparison to the Western ones :(
I don't fully agree, some people that have a very mixed ethnic background won't find people that look like them from the past because of segregation and other factors
-“Don’t tell me…we’re about to go off a HUUUGGEEEE waterfall”. -“Yep.” -“Sharp rocks at the bottom?” -“Most likely.” -“Bring it on.” -“BOOOOYAAAAHAAHAAAAA”
She’d probably eat obwarzanek or a bajgiel (bagel) both of which originated in Krakow (contrary to what New Yorkers may believe). Paczki are fairly modern (~400 years) compared to bajgle (~500 yrs) and obwarzanki (~800 yrs)
@@boskee You are both wrong and right at the same time :) Pączki in the form known today (made with yeast dough and sweet) are fairly modern, from around 17th c, as you said; but they actually were present in their precursory form already in medieval times; they were then made from bread dough and with bacon inside. I remember reading that they were invented in that form even earlier, by Romans, but this fact I don't know how accurate is.
@@m.falcon6412 As if she wouldn't *also* be hanging around court in the 17th c, both for the fashion and the sweets! (And the gossip, of course!) Everyone knows Meme Mom can time travel!
I vibe with 13-year-old Karolina's obsession with Emperor's New Groove, I used to be really into the computer game when I was like 9. Here is an idea: historically accurate Disney princesses part 2, in which you recreate Kuzco's lady outfit
Funny story: On the way to see the Emperor's New Groove when I was 18 there's this big hill we had to drive down and I yelled "Cara! Put your arms in the air!" to the friend we'd brought along ...then my whole family nearly brought down the theatre when that part came up in the movie. Still one of the most watched and most quoted movies in our house 20 years later! 🤗 Also people are mindblown when you tell them that movie's only an hour long. Somehow the plot is more developed than most movies today I guess... 🤣😂
This! But I think we could actually go deeper: She is a time traveller, and it used to be her in all those pictures. But she started receiving too much attention and people started finding her old pics/paintings and sending them to her. So, to fix this and avoid being caught, she had to travel back and ask for people who kinda looked like her to be there instead. Then she managed to change the future (our present) unbeknownst to us, linear time inhabitants who now never got to see the originals. And now she can safely make a video and laugh it off as if she didn't have to carefully weave the delicate threads of time, AGAIN.
@@SukiBells Isn't it more likely she simply asked the painters to 'embellish her features instead? Remember she did just do a video on how the noble class would make sure their personal portraits would always best reflect the beauty standards of the current era! It all makes sense, she was speaking from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE!
Not gonna lie, I was laughing up a storm when that Emperor's New Groove pic came up. Not just that you went with the comparison, but that you knew the movie and could at one-time quote it word for word, even if it was in Polish.
Karolina, you are absolutely one of the prettiest people I've ever seen. I'm not sure how you feel about your "long face," but I personally really like it and think it's quite pretty. Apparently, I have an affinity for "unconventional" facial features, because obviously we must all adore the conventional beauty standards the media throws at us. Regardless, that's all, have a lovely day!
You have such a timeless beauty, and it is so wonderful that everyone thinks of you when they see other beautiful women with a timeless look. You are amazing and I love watching your awesome videos!
pov: karolina *is* acctually immortal, and she is on most of these paintings, but she always told the painter to change her hair color or facial features, so people wont suspect her..
ngl I was kinda hoping that one of the pictures would actually end up being Karolina but like, taken from a distance discreetly with a phone so Karolina looks at it like "wait. that's me. That the grocery store I go to. Please stop stalking me"
NOT KUZKO IN A DRESS I CAN'T BREATH 💀 💀 💀 also the banana sticker & dog in a bonnet lmaooo you should totally drink a vial of extract of llama & do a Kuzko cosplay, it's just so you. Also I think we can safely assume all your fans are face-blind & it's only a matter of time before they're sending you pics of swans, zebras & Rorschach inkblots asking "DiS yOu??" 😂
So the fact that you love “The Emperor’s New Groove” makes me adore you even more. 💗😆 That’s one of my favorite animated movies!! Never fails to make me feel happy when I watch it. I love all the characters, but Yzma & Kronk are iconic! 💜
I love how positive Karolina is about all the people in the pictures, you get the feeling that she’s always got something kind to say. I love this video ☺️
I agree with many of your "I don't see its" with a lot of the paintings but some of these are really uncanny!! I guess you're someone who looks like people? I feel like I look like literally no-one lol.
I have heard, most of my life, that I remind people of their cousin, neighbor, etc., etc.....?! Some day I wish to meet these women & decide for myself !
I’m just commenting to say my mother completely nailed your hairstyle. I showed her the video cause she’s a huge Halloween fan and asked her is she thought you and the Halloween actress were similar and she said “A little bit, but this woman’s hairstyle is much more like someone from the 1940s.” so yeah lol. Also apparently my grandmother wore the exact same shade of lipstick as you according to my mom 😂 Great video as always!
As someone with a long inverted triangle face , I would love a video / collage / mashup or whatever with a bunch of historical models or paintings with ✨long face ✨aesthetics. Especially since I don’t feel there is much representation for us out there.
@@krabby-patty you see that little icon next to this persons name? That means they basically are like a paying membership to this channel and can access videos earlier if the uploader decides,it’s kinda like patreon but built into RU-vid.
I've found my Doppelganger once in a very old painting (from the 1700s, I guess) and the most disturbing thing is that her name was even pretty similar to mine.
Some of the pictures look just like Karolina's sister, whose name escapes me at the moment. They should do these doppelgangers together. Like find doppelgangers of each other and see who clocked the other better. Hahaha, the parents could judge as the Gods of their existence, having sent them their noses and necks.
9:03 .. YESS! I’m exactly the same way but with How The Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carey. I watched that movie countless times that any word spoken that was in the movie immediately reminds me of scenes and I can’t help but start reenacting the whole movie.. it’s a problem.
I feel sorry for any of my doppelgängers. That would be rough 💀 When it comes to dubs, I noticed that people either love the version in their language or they hate it and want to kill it with fire. I wonder why that is?
At least in my case, the movies I saw in my chilhood and were dubbed, I re-watched them now that I speak english as an adult and the dubs are just better. Except for Home Alone (1 & 2), the animated or even live action movies have more emotion in dubs. That is, movies from the early 2000's and earlier, because that's when I think voice actors were actually trained and not some celebrity. Also, nostalgia. But I think it is the quality too, because I never liked Home Alone's spanish dub, which is ironic considering there's a scene in both movies adressing this lol.
@@user-is7xs1mr9y interesting. I suppose people can probably relate to their native language more. I can handle anime dubs but nothing live action. Squid Game for example. Gotta watch it in Korean 🤌
"Cheese me no likey" is commonly used by me and my sister to refer to or reply to a lot of statements or situations. The restaurant scene in Emperor's New Groove is comedic gold.
I am new to your channel, but I absolutely love your message about beauty throughout time and history. I also want you to know, you have gorgeous features! You have intelligent eyes and a smile that can melt any cold heart. Please...no need to be so humble. You are so worthy of a painted portrait that is simply you! ❤️
I’m glad someone else identifies other faces as “historical” or as “working in other time periods”! I feel like I would look better in the late 1800s or 1910s rather than in the 21st century!
I’m too lazy to look it up but there was a movie in which Monica Potter painter Freddie Prinz Jr. into the corner of a renaissance painting. And his face looked so out of place. There are costubers that look like the era they’re wearing and others who look like a modern person wearing a vintage outfit. Karolina really does look like she would fit comfortably into any photo from the thirties or forties.
@@davidblum7125 Seriously! I wish casting directors paid attention to that sort of detail. There's nothing wrong with her, for she's gorgeous and acts well, but Jenna Coleman of Netflix's "Victoria" feels very out of place. Her face is very modern and it sticks out heavily!
@@beatrice0610 you had to pick Jenna Coleman. She’s my celebrity crush. But your right. She could pull off the sixties and seventies easily, but she doesn’t look Victorian.
Hahahahah I love how your beauty has been captured sooo many times throughout the ages! I especially love knowing that your fashion choices have never changed in at least 300 years hihihi (we know you’re immortal!)
You are gorgeous! I love that you can laugh at this stuff. Your "beauty standards are crap" videos are uplifting and encourage me to remember to not to be so harsh on what I see as imperfections. I hope it helps everyone feeling the same pressures. So thank you and you make me laugh out loud all the time.
My 5 year old daughter heard you talking about you having a long face, so she came over to look. (It happened to be at a moment that you weren’t showing a “doppelgänger” image) her reaction to you was, “Wow! She’s so fancy!” ❤️
would be keen to see a video on 'older style faces' and 'modern faces'! I imagine it's what aligns with the beauty standards of each time... eg thin vs full lips
i think many of these are based on your wonderfully dark eyes and coloring generally. Even if the shape of the face is off, it is your coloring that stands out to me. ❤️
I really like your channel, as a Polish myself it's amazing that someone from our country can still make a witty and informative content. Yesterday I was watching the 50. Sisi movies(which were really popular in pl when I was a child), and I started wondering about the historical accuracy of the costumes, which were done a long time ago versus the costumes which were done in modern historical tv series (the Sisi of 2009, or Victoria as it is similiar period). I was wondering if in the 50. They were more or even less acurate? Just an idea if you ever want to judge costumes again 😀 All the best!
I feel like there's a spark in the eyes of all the women who look at the spectator and she qualified as "absolutely not" that is very similar to her gaze, somewhere between joyful and defiant
When I first moved to England, I would see tons of people who looked really similar to people I knew back in America. I think what we’re all seeing is some kind of ethnic similarity most of the time. Like one of my classmates looked scarily like my brother-in-law, like they had the exact same face, but my brother in law has English and Scottish ancestry, which makes me think maybe they shared an ancestor several hundred years ago.
@@SannaJankarin sometimes it is. There's a great documentary about doppelganger where they tried to find the most similar ones who weren't literal twins. When they genetic tested some where actually related far back.
Growing up, I wondered if I went to Europe which nationality or ethnic group I would look most like since as most Americans, I'm quite mixed. I looked up photos of Finnish people one day and that's when I knew, I found my cousins. For Finland specifically it's a joke that everyone's a cousin or that the same man impregnanted all the women because everyone looks so similar.
@@justynafigas-skrzypulec3349 I thought (s)he was referring to the ancestry as a ethnic group. Which I don't really know if it counts that much. I mean, yes there are some similarities, but they are not the most important ones.
6:45 is the only one I find plausible. You could easily recreate that. :) I think too many people are struck by a hairstyle and superficial features/accessories, and not really looking at the face except for dark eyes and lipstick. But maybe it takes a more critical artistic eye to make the comparisons between facial structures. And yes, long faces are somewhat unusual. I've only had two friends in my whole life with long faces and you remind me of them...just for that reason!
My sis and me were the same with Finding Nemo. On long car trips we would literally quote the whole movie from the beginning to the end to each other, and it felt like we were watching it.
Ohmygod you talking about emperor's new groove is literally me and my cousin with shrek 2. Sometimes random words would trigger our memory and from there on, there is no stopping us. (Also our native version is superior to the original.)
i feel like a few of those were less about the actual physical looks being spot on and more about the energy being similar lol like a few of those derpy ones deffoooo shared vibes with you. (n the banana one...........that was just gold)
I stumbled across your page and now I'm obsessed! I live in New Hampshire, USA, but my Babci's family is from Poland. I love your content! Keep being you!
Me and my friend also loved The Emperors New Groove and watched it more than what was healty! We still send meme to eachother from that movie and we watched it last time we met up!
