Thank you so much Sandra. These videos have been extremely helpful. I just made my first stamp and I am beyond thrilled! I am in the U.S. and found the polymer on Amazon.

Hi ! I've got two phillips tlk 40w tube lamps, 80w total; they need some warmup to work better? could it be that in a hot summer they work different than in a cold winter, regarding times? Sometime my times went crazy and now I feel I've lost it. I cannot get the correct times anymore. I was using at first 40/150, now something closer to 40/200, but I get coagulated gel in the black areas, very difficult to remove, most of the times my back go away with the cleaning, taking with them parts of the stamps. I'm gonna try all of your advices, thank you so much for them.

The tube lamps are very unreliable, yes they do have warm up, will alter depending on how long used in a session and need different times according to season. This is a very old video, look at the 'most important stamp making' playlist and look at the LED version of the tube lamps. That avoids those issues.

@@createinspain Thank you so much!!!! With your videos and advices I was able to find my times and procedures again. I feel reborn! I will search here in Argentina for those lamps or a situable replacement, I found some LED tubes that will fit just right into my insolator, I will investigate more. Again, thank you so much, you're a great teacher.

Hello, Sandra (I think I saw you in some other chats). I'm thinking of adventuring into this. I happen to have given away my CFR nail lamp and replaced it with an LED 48W UV type III nail curing lamp which I think is hybrid and "new technology" :)) Hope it works fine. I have a Q: what is it with greys and shadows? What happens there? one doesn't get gradients? Or will it just look like a hole? Bless you and stay safe.

I don't know why, but I had replied and today found it wasn't showing up..You can't print shades, it needs to be a true negative. I suspect your new lamp will not work well, the LEDs need to be evenly placed and it could be too strong. I suggest you look at the 'most important stamp making' playlist.

will you sell a set of those frames for the stamp making. I have the stamp making machine and use the sachets, but your way seems easier. I want to make more stamps, and I have watched everyone of your videos.

Janice, if you really want a set I can make some to your personal size preference, but can you get the gel in the bottle? If you can get the bottled stuff it will work out way cheaper in the long run, even if you waste half of the first one getting your timing right!

createinspain I cannot find the post where I asked about the frames. You made them. Is it perspex? What would you charge to make a set? Regards Minnie

Merlin - For some unknown reason, your question to me about the printer does not show up here - even though I got a notification of it! Strange. Anyway, it is a cheap Samsung laser printer, a couple of years old, an ML-1860.

Good afternoon Sandra. In the video you talk about washing your polymer stamp seal. I was able to make some fine words, but they get damaged when you wash it with the brush because the polymer is a little soft. This only happens with fine letters. How have you solved that problem? I changed to a softer and smaller brush, but it doesn't work out well at all. Thanks for your videos, I watched them all and I have managed to make some figures and words. Greetings from Chile.

If your fine letters are not stable it is either too short a cure on the back or on the front. Once properly cured, they should be washable.

How do we know how long to cure the front side depending on image or font size? For instance, what if it was a solid heart vs an intricate heat with fine detailed lace like fill? Do you have a cheat sheet for different types of shapes and image thicknesses? Thank you - I find your videos VERY informative!
@createinspain
@createinspain 6 лет назад
Chris, if only it were that simple! Firstly, I will deal with thicknesses. If you do a plain test patch, say, a filled circle or square, you start by finding out how long it takes to process JUST THE BACK to the depth you want. For me, this is 45 seconds. That bit does not change much for me, it is my constant. It will depend on your set up if it is the same for you, but take the time to get to know your back developing time. You should be looking for a 50/50 split as a median. Once you have your backing time, do a test www.dropbox.com/s/31xqinlyayrztx3/test.svg?dl=0 with this image. I would expect it to be a control stamp, that is, a median. Some images with finer lines will need longer on the image side, images with thicker lines or more solid areas will need less. What you need work out is the median for the sort of images you want to make stamps for. I know for example, that I don't want to do much in the way of photographic type or detailed animals etc so I don't worry about that. After that it is trial, error, skill and experience I'm afraid!

Sandra, do you ever make the larger texts in separate stamps and use something like a stamparatus for stamping?
@createinspain
@createinspain 5 лет назад
I make all sorts of stamps, large text, tiny text, patterns, anything! I have a Tim Holts gizmo.
@elisabethdenisar8240

Also, I have a question about the transparency that you use to make the stamps. I seem to remember that in one of your videos you used vellum or onion skin paper? Do you recommend something other than overhead transparency film to create the best results?
@createinspain
@createinspain 5 лет назад
It depends on your printer. I find a laser printer gets good results on tracing paper or onion paper, mine doesn't handle transparency film so well. It was a case of finding something that I could easily buy locally, print on and know that others could get too. Papers differ so much in the amount of light they let through and printers vary on how well they print black. Sometimes you get a better result with a standard setting than when you select a 'dark' one, for example. When I first started doing this, OHP film was hard to get - and I suspect with fewer people using them in the business world it will get withdrawn from sale at some point! BTW up to video no 39 on stamp making now.....:)
@elisabethdenisar8240
@elisabethdenisar8240 5 лет назад
@@createinspain Thank you! I was thinking about the science behind this, and if the point is to block out light, then vellum and tracing paper should be enough to let the light through and still print on it. I've also read somewhere about this product about toner density spray. Supposedly it darkens the opacity on vellum paper. Have you ever used it?
@createinspain
@createinspain 5 лет назад
@@elisabethdenisar8240 No, I've not used it - because it was just another step another expense and the whole idea of this is not to spend an arm and a leg on specialty items. I want to keep the cost of the consumables down to a minimum.

Hi There! Thank you so much for your videos! I’ve been trying to find your liquid photopolymer for purchase online with no luck. Is there a specific website that you know of that sells it? Thank you again very much! Tallia

www.rubberstampmaerials.com may be a possibility. Colop is I believe also in the USA. Whatever company you use, tell them it is for making craft stamps, that way, they should sell you something suitable. If I sold it, it would probably be too expensive because of delivery costs!
