I have five different classes with 150 students total and want to build something that won't let a student check out until the previous student checks back in (one at a time). i have the same project somehow. Do you have any idea why when my project is powered supplied form a external source (not from laptop usb to arduino) the lcd i2c display doens't show any text / data? it just light up and doesn't show like on usb connection. Do you have any idea what could be the issue?

hello, please help me. I want to make an automatic attendance system using a keypad, touch sensor, Arduino UNO, LCD 16*2. the student has to touch sensor then he has to enter his id no and his attendance will be taken automatically and the class teacher will get a message about who is absent.
