Thank you for an excellent video. I very much like how you talk about the need to "nourish" the leather. I make a dressing with bees wax, mink oil, and pine resin, I know exactly what is in it. With the bees wax the leather is buffable with a brush. The only part of the mix I buy is the mink oil, the bees wax was produced by my bees and the pine resin is gathered in the woods. Thanks again for a very nice video

What is the chemical you are using on the boarder of sheath?

We have a product in NZ called Beekind leather oil which is made from plant oils,beeswax, teatree and eucalyptus essential oils, leaves a stunning finish, they have lots of other great products to, I think they are beekindnz .com. Also I'd like to know why you put a lanyard hole at the bottom of the sheaths? Great videos, I am learning such a lot! Cheers from Mike, South Waikato, NZ..

never warm the leather more than 37 celcius. Because it will soak inn water. Leather gets ruined by to much heat. it gets hard yes but the water will penetrate it much more easy. and use a little bit of water when you burnish the edges,then they will be harder and even more shiny. And then you can use beeswax and a hot iron (hold it over a candle a bit)to soak the wax in

The mink oil will eventually harden, just as neatsfoot oil does, reallyy not ideal..
