That last integrity is the true hero. I'm actually surprised for only one who could be heard from where you were at and yea they need to replace the broken alarms. It's odd that even the strobes didn't work on the broken ones. I'd say that place would fail a fire alarm inspection.
@@gentexguy Usually it does kinda the reason why we they don't really put horns in bathrooms anymore because of ceramics and how sounds bounce off of it. That said, obviously you want all your alarms working.
@@trevormacewan Yeah, and also NFPA 72 says that the alarms have to be 15dB louder than the average ambient noise in any given area. A bathroom isn't typically a very loud place with the exception of hand dryers, and those are usually only on for a brief period of time. But the alarms outside of a restroom are usually loud enough that they can be distinctly heard inside the restroom, which is why most only have strobes now. However, I have seen horn/strobes in larger restrooms with lots of traffic, but even those are probably set on low volume.
I love the sound of Integrities. They always remind me of the schools I’ve been to (well, three out of the four; the second school I went to had 892-2bs)
I went to Burleigh manner middle school which was built in the 1980s that had 892 and my elementary school (Northfield) had simplex 2903 light plates that school opened in 1977 and I went to two different high schools but there are plenty videos of both of those schools on my channel
Melissa please stop claiming all of my fire drills and real activations are your father I’m asking you nicely it’s starting to become annoying I don’t like telling my followers on here what to do normally I ignore but this is getting nutty
and dont use the elevators during a fire alarm, and that broken integritys are a fail! did you tell someone? and you found the pulled station, interesting.
Great video. I like these kinds of fire alarm videos. Fire alarms are so fascinating to me. i just subscribed and liked the video. watching from Virginia
well since its most of the alarms that arent working, that tells me its not the alarms, its the wiring. something about the wiring in the system is incorrect
It reminds me of the time that when I was outside of my middle school, I heard fire alarms going off at a nearby parking garage. Also, my apartment complex has those same fire alarms.
I saw this video I see some of the alarms are not working that’s not good they can get a fine for that from the fire department did you report it to them to let them now but I did see that someone pulled the fire alarm because you showed us the pull station i’m impressed that you love fire alarms
This garage has an unused elevator shaft, visible near the end of the video, which I originally found when I visited that garage in person. I wonder why they did that?
@@ElyseHorvath Interesting. I thought it was planned but never installed. Huntington and Largo both have unused elevator shafts in their garages. You've lived in the area for longer than me though so I believe you.
European here. An Integrity is much better sounding than the awful wailing sirens that we have here as fire alarms. You won't believe how ear piercingly loud they are, at high frequencies as well! I wanna get myself an Integrity because of how cool it sounds. Also code 3 is much better for an alert than constant frequency sweeping and alternating tones.
Those two next each other, one was sounding the other was not or maybe it was cant tell and some are broken which needs to be addressed also hopefully they found the person who pulled it
Oh no it’s not good someone pulled the fire alarm. This is the exact sound I would hear if there were ever a fire emergency in my school I Heard integrity in drills all these years when I first heard this alarm I didn’t recognize the sound of it but I know what it sounds like now after all these drills I had.
There is no shortage of integrity’s in this area they are common in many buildings in this area especially schools many of the Fairfax County Public schools have integrity’s.
I am going to hear the integrity next month at school because there is going to be a drill because drills are the state law in Virginia and the integrity is the alarm installed in my school.
Just depends. But you can have all notes in Music for each fire alarm tone. C-C including all flats and sharps. If you cannot tell I am a pianist and organist.
@@ElyseHorvath my school has integrity’s all over the place and I heard them going off many times because of the drills and the alarm in my school sounds the same as the alarm in this parking garage.
I always thought these EST integrity horns were the loudest ones due to their pitch. We had the rare “power saver” integrity horn strobes mixed with a few normal ones, and they were torture to my little ears whenever they decided to do a fire drill. While the ones at my high school (EST Genesis EG1) were still startling, they never had the same effect for me. The single worst thing about the integrity horn strobe was, they had a little noise from the strobe before the horn went off. (This seemed to be true with both the normal ones and the power savers.) When I heard this noise, I would reflexively move my hands toward my ears, and it sometimes even triggered a “duck for cover” Response as if someone kicked a ball and it flew right near my head. Unfortunately, this caused similar noises to trigger that reflex, so if I heard a little high pitched buzz, there was a good chance for many years afterwards that I would either jump, blink, move my hands toward my ears, or duck slightly.
I’ve grown up in the city all my life pee on the floor of an elevator within public tranist is fairly normal (even if it’s nasty) we even have a game “what will the elevator smell like today” A. Fresh pee B.a cleaned urinal smell C. Normal non pee
My least favorite fire alarm. Of course it was the alarm at both my elementary school and middle school. I don't know why but I associate it with horror for some reason
