My guess for him surviving the fire was that he conjured some ice spell to form some kind of barrier around him, hence why the flames didn't burn him. We mustn't forget the Night King is no regular being, but a magical one. That or D&D simply forgot about that detail in their hurry to end the series.
I'm also reminded that the Night King was turned into what he is with magic involving dragon glass, so maybe that magic kinda gives him some immunity over fire to some degree.
@@thealien_ali3382And you put an emoji like you said something clever?? Except ‘dragon glass’(note the quotation marks) is stone, not glass. Eyes super roll….
Unscathed by enough dragonfire to burn anything, but instantly explodes to death from one jab from the Catspaw dagger, made from Valyrian steel which is forged with dragonfire. The plot armor logic was just bananas by this point.
They ran out of book content and was winging it. Lets just say the writers were not up to the task and the book author was like nope not gonna help you out good luck!
I think that dragon fire and say man made fire/ fire from the god of light are very different because Dragons are magical beings Maybe since he has powerful magic he can withstand all fire outside on his skin so they need to penetrate his skin to his him inside the body, So the children of the forest imbued fire into weapons (dragon glass etc.) to break through
Sb says he is Aemond Targaryen and the real Long Night hadn't come the long night we saw in the show was just the beginning (I don't agree with Aemond Targaryen) but we are going to see the real Long Night in the books and also The Night's King and The Night King are different persons so real one or this could be Bloodstone Emperor /u can chech if u want bc I don't wanna tell everything
I just finished Game of Thrones, and while I can understand why some viewers think that season eight is much more of a step back from its predecessors, I was very distraught to hear that people hated season eight. I still thoroughly enjoyed mOst moments throughout the season.
We really should have true back history about the night king , but also make sense that he isn’t easily defeated by fire cause he is the cold he is the winter and he is the moment 😂
The night king is the most powerful being at that time. Bran next and then Drogon after. People really would like to see jon fight the night king. Be honest he is more powerful then drogon and bran.
Ok let me do this one last time. People have a short memory, The night king and white walkers (icy soldiers/ Crasters sons) are different from wights (the dead shells of animals and humans reanimated by Ice necromancy) wights get killed by regular weapons dismemberment head stabs but fire is the most efficient (fire for ice) they seem to instaburn as if their were socked with oil from within. White walkers on the other hand always go through fire like Moises through the Red Sea. In « Hardhome » and « the door » fire literally opens up in front of them and closes behind them (thus the Red Sea metaphor) The only kills of white walkers that we saw are : 1 - Sam (Dragon glass shard) 2 - Jon (long claw/ Valyrian steel) 3 - Meera Reed (dragon glass spear) 4 - Arya (cats paw dagger/ Valyrian steel) Valyrian steel is said to be forged with dragon flame (also called dragon steel) Dragon glass on the other hand even though it has “dragon in its name” might have nothing to do with dragons it was used by the children of the forest to make their weapons milleniums before valyria in the books they have confessed that their origins spread to a million years ago so not only they predate Valyrians but the might even predate humanity as a whole. That’s why I prefer the second name of dragon glass “frozen fire” Which make me think that the origin of the fire (dragon or not) is not as important as the state in which said fire is administered to the bodies of the white walkers. It needs to be solid to get passed their fire extinguishing ability. Gaz combustion just get blown out like a candle no matter how big the fire✌️
He is probably resurrected Daemon who accidentally got himself froze like captain America. And saw Viserion as his dragon and whack him up to resurrect him as his :v.
Lol dude. His backstory is literally shown by Bran's flashback of the Children of the Forest. They were being attacked by the First Men, they captured one and Leaf performed a ritual by carving dragonglass onto his heart, turning him into the Night King. They were trying to use the White Walkers as their weapons against men, but it totally backfired on them given that being white walker or a living man, they never lost their ability to think for themselves lol.
@@florilestari44 Because it's a stupid theory spread by too many GOT and HOTD's fans who ignore the stories' and characters' timelines. I just like to call the bullshit out.
@@cringecat3614 gosh some GOT nerd cant take a light jokes. Most of GOT normies know only Targeryns who are heat resistance or fire proof like Dany. White walkers are underrated characters. When they see this video the things that come out in their minds are Dany and Targeryn and fire proof. So they make a joke out of it, Jesus Christ people take fiction into reality so seriously :v then be rude to call it out as bullshits. No body agree with me yes, but u dont have to be rude about it :v. And I shouldn't have explained these to you if you have a chill pill :v
So many twists and turns this scene could have went especially the hidden storyline behind the NK. Could he be of ICE and Fire like Jon Snow? The unburnt of Targaryen bloodline? What was his motive for attacking and trying to get to Bran the three eye raven? This could have went well on beyond episode 3 into a possible season 9, 10 or more as he pillage all the houses in the north heading to Kingslanding and Cersei had to face the endgame of survival that was beyond fighting over the throne chair and secrets revealed of Bran. BUT NO...... D&D wanted Star Wars but instead of HBO giving an option to find another Director that loves GOTs and would put their heart into the storyline they instead rushed it. 😞
Whenever he crosses some fire wall, the fire "opens up" - it doesnt touch him, like he has some sort of barrier around him. Maybe dragonfire did not touch him too, but being stabbed made a physical contact with a dagger
Or ..., EVERYBODY keeps assuming what the catspaw dagger IS. It could be an ancient special knife, tempered in dragonfire to fortify it, so it would never break because of how important it is. King viserys showed princess rhaenyra the inscriptions on the dagger of a song of ice and fire; only visible while nearly white hot, its really disappointing to see so many ridiculous comments of people who, as GOT fans, should have a better sense of imagination. Poo on you all!!!
Because the night walkers were made by magic using dragon glass. The dragon glass is what goes into the steel to make it valerian steel. Meaning dragon glass is what made them and can kill them.
@@jasonpeters617 Well that still means it was forged in dragon fire. People stopped with the imagination stuff when D&D shit all over our imagination because they wanted to make everything a twist just to subvert our imaginations expectations.
Night kingde izleyecekti zaten adam bir tane ejderhasını öldürdü diğerinide öldğrebilirdi üzerine gelen kocaman bir ejderhayı öldürebilmek pek zor olmazdı
The reason that came up to my mind about this is Night King was a Targaryen. That's why he can't burn. But I researched about it and found he's actually a Stark. Well, whatever. Edit: I believe they didn't give justice to the character. Night King was perceived to be the greatest threat ever since season 1 and yet he died just like that, alongside his armies. The only backstory about him was only from Bran's claim that he wants to end the world through him, the three-eyed raven. That's not enough for the character/s(white walkers) we've been fearing since day 1 of the movie.
My thoughts and opinions: 1. Drogons fire didn’t affect him because he is the embodiment of ice (remember when they walked through the fire ring and the fire ring burned out). So I think the magic of fire didn’t do anything on the “outside” but a dagger that was stabbed into him would. 2. I am curious because of how little information we were given about the White Walkers, because the argument could be made that that what if Bran was warging here, and that’s where left over emotions come from. 3. It’s interesting to think if the White Walkers were Targaryens (or a more ancient version of the blood line) (which could also tie into the prophecy of Song of Ice and Fire), that could be how they’re immune to dragon fire. All the magic that is involved with Targaryens would be lesser than what the White Walkers have.
Just stating the obvious, but he isn't just the White Walker. He is the Night King, the creator of the White Walkers. Fire was effective against the Dead and against the Walkers, just not the Night King himself. But I agree with the others' guesses: perhaps he comes from a Targaryen bloodline.
There was an episode showing how he was formed... Did anyone happen to see his hair color, or hear if they mentioned what his former name was? If they did, that might sum it up.
@@weisup4960 ~ that episode momentarily shows the Children Of The Forest putting what looks like an Ice Dagger through his chest/heart invoking magic while the human (it is implied that the victim is a Stark ancestor) being tied up is unable to resist and succumbs to the magic of Children of The Forest. It’s a breathtaking scene and can be found on RU-vid.
To be honest, White Walkers getting destroyed by Valyrian steel is stupid. They should only be vulnerable to Dragonglass to make matters worse for humans. That's how you fight an epic battle
I seriously don’t think he was a Targaryen. He’s the night king, king of ice. It stands to reason that he is to cold and fire can not affect him. Like if there were fire walkers. The weaker fire beings would be weak to water. But for the stronger ones the water would just evaporate when it hit them.
@Ela incorrect. No Targaryen served the wall before Aemon the II who was Maester when Jon arrived. The Night's King was the 13th Lord Commander of the Night's watch, No Targaryen was Lord Commander before Jon. It is more possible the Night's king is a Stark. The reason dragon fire has no effect is cause its considered magic while the Night's King is the strongest magic being in the realm. Valyrian steel and dragon glass has an affect because they are physically attacks.
@@knightfall2817 dude the night was created with dragon glass by the children of the Forest to protect them from humans. Only Dragon glass can kill the night king not dragon fire..did u watch the movie at all?
@@DeathToJihad it is a thing lmao, however fire breathing dragons aren't a thing..... If the Fuel being used For a fire is too cold, then it won't ignite/burn.
Could it be that the reason Drogon could not burn the Ice King, is because it used to be a Targarien. Leave it to GOT for Danny to come back as the Ice Queen.
The night king became the night king around the time of the age of heroes which was around 10,000 years before present. Valyrians didn’t settle Valyria or become dragon lords till about 5,000 years before present
?? Make it make sense?? Was Daemon around during the War between the Children of the Forest? Who created him, Their war vs the 1st men? When is there any story regarding their interaction w Daemon? Their ability to subdue him and turn into the Night King? What would His beef be with tht entirety of Mankind? To Kill everything? And have Nobody to rule? Vs just Ruling then all as King?
Now imagine if that character didn't lead the attack but instead stayed as far as he could. I mean.. the only one that cannot die because if he does all the Undeads will disappear... At the front? It's like the Death Star weak point.
I feel like the series left so many unexplained things. Such as who the Night King was and why he was immune to fire. I think he was a descendent from the Targaryens or came from Old Valyria. Then, the ice babies. What happened to Drogon? What did Drogon do with Daenerys?
That person who was turned into the Night King by the Children of the Forest could have been Valyrian. Possibly having the trait that is rare among Targaryens, as it would have been a lot more common in Old Valyria.
Legit, she shoulda let all they ass face they own problems. She lost so much trying to "help" just to have the bastards murk her and two of her dragons out of greed.
