Margaery was so smart and cunning that I suspect that even if lady Olenna didn't kill Joffrey, she would eventually do it after having one or two sons to secure her and house Tyrell position.

How Margaery manipulated him was very interesting. Sansa was far too innocent and naive for Joffrey, and became prey in his eyes, while Margaery participates in his dark ideas, putting herself on equal ground to him. She still appeals to better parts of him, showing him the satisfaction of being loved by the people and playing the role of the benevolent king.
Another difference was that since the Starks went to war against the Crown, Sansa didn’t have anyone to protect her at the time. Only a single handmaiden. But Margaery had her powerful family by her side which was one of the main reasons why Joffrey was so chill with her. He knew he needed to be in order to keep the marriage pact with the Tyrells.
Don't think so. Joffrey was incapable of loving anyone. He's a straight up proper psychopath. Only interested in what gratifies him. People who show an interest in what he enjoys are basically just a "justification" that what he thinks and feels, is "correct". That's why she's so good. She knows what to give him what he needs, not to love her, but simply to trust her.

@@lollolowski8956Margaery was not a cruel person at all, she was a manipulator but I can't remember a single moment where she harmed an innocent person, she was like a modern day influencer, knowing how to shape her public persona even if it might not be entirely authentic, I don't think she was a bad person , just very streetwise. She was bad to Cersei but wouldn't anyone be 😂
His acting is perfection. I was so afraid they would hire some cute kid that would overplay Joffrey but he nailed it.They had great casting for everyone except the second Daario.
She gave the perfect balance of vulnerability and power. The control in her court but the illusion of half of it in his. She was probably the smartest character.
Cersei was egotistical, but I dont think she was as vain and oblivious as Joffery. Instead her narcissism expressed itself as extreme paranoia toward everyone, so that made her more difficult to manipulate.
They both were so amazing. She was literally with a potential tyrannical serial murderer and she walked that thin ice like nothing. She led him on like she was with him. Just a brilliant dou of actors and scary characters lol
The actor who played Geoffrey is really something special. I hear he’s taking a hiatus from acting but I really hope to see him in something else in the near future.
He said he wasn’t planning on acting again. He said the hate that he got from playing that role really affected him. He said “I was just playing a role, but I played it so well that I’m the most hated person alive!” And it’s sad because he’s such a sweet kid.
Margaery played him like a fiddle. The part where her father "forbade" her from joining could be an exaggeration, at least when regarding book Margaery, whose known to be very much into riding horses. I could imagine she showed up to a hunt every now and then and stayed, participating except for the actual killing. That line was said to trigger Joffrey's possessiveness.
By that she also gave him an opportunity to do something that would cost him nothing but could "make her thankful" to him and also make him feel powerful basically bossing another lord - and a grown man at that - around.
Absolutely brilliant. To be able to manipulate someone you need to understand the person first and Marjorie did it so well. This was one of the finest moment that truly portrays what a master manipulator is.
Had him right under her thumb. Had Cersei not been such a relentlessly self destructive psycho, Margaery would have ruled the seven kingdoms in the sense that Tywin did; Not in the driver’s seat and yet oddly enough the car goes exactly where she wants it to.
Margaery was really excellent. I felt like she knew that there was no way she could manipulate and go along with Joffery for the long term and still keep her sanity, so I get why the Tyrells killed him.
Olenna killed him and Margaery didn't know about it. There's a scene where Olenna confesses to Margaery she killed him because she wouldn't have let Margaery be with someone like him and Margaery is caught of guard by this.
God damn the Tyrell’s were so smart and they blew most of them up and off screen killed the rest in the end and essentially just sort of gave high garden to some random character… I used to enjoy the intrigue of got so much it’s genuinely so sad how it ended so poorly
I just stopped watching the show after Margery's death. I think for me it was the highest point of absurd and bad handling a character's line that I couldn't help and justify the rest anymore
She's an amazing player in the game. She knew her part and she played it well. She deserved a better ending. Most people couldn't stand to be in the same room as that little psycho path but she played marriage, love, adoration. Amazing we love her. I love these little clips because it reminds me of little scenes I forgot about binge watching so hard

The “I don’t know your Grace, do YOU think I could?” was incredibly masterful. She could’ve easily answered him with a “yes”, but chose to stay in character and ask for his opinion instead. Bravo!
She knew how to charm him....I imagine she would have been a great help to him. Pathetic outcome of royal upbringing, you have to feel sorry for him. Fantastic actor truly.
It’s kinda sad, Joffrey here showed absolute respect and pride to his soon to be wife. I know he was “a monster”, but honestly if it played out they could’ve been a a powerful king and Queen
No he eventually would've crossed the line. Margery would've either died inside being with him or tried to save someone from him and revealed herself. Remember olenna was cruel by necessity but we never saw that Margery even had it in her to be so
The writers actually stated that the control Margaery had over Joffrey was an illusion that would've shattered eventually. It's emphasized during their wedding when Joffrey ignores Margaery in favor of taunting Sansa and Tyrion
Poor Margery….one of the smartest women in the kingdom (& one of my fave) But if GOT has taught us anything, it’s that smart doesn’t always win, & chaos is a ladder.🪜
Margaery is fully faking it to make him fall for her. She’s really after his power and the position of being queen she could get out of marrying him. It’s pretty obvious through her interactions with Sansa. She shows a lot of genuine empathy and kindness to Sansa. It’s totally possible this was also faked to gain her trust, but it was still nicer than anyone had treated Sansa for a LONG time. But yeah, Margaery gets Sansa to tell her what Joffrey is actually like as a person, and when she finds out what a psycho he is, she plays into that instead of being a sweet innocent lady. The contrast between how she acts around Joffrey and how she acts around Sansa and Brienne of Tarth is really interesting to me. It showed a lot of character depth that wasn’t super obvious in her first appearances
Nothing ever turned Joffrey on so much as her saying that bit about squeezing the trigger and watching something die. Amazing acting by Jack Gleeson. You can see it stamped in his face 😂
they do act so completely perfect in their roles. The gleam in his eye when she sdmits she could actually kill an animal is incredible! his dream mate, beautiful, worshipping and devoid of compassion.
Joffrey was a simp for her and i love that "Forgive me your grace i know a hunt is no place for a woman" "ITS NOT UNHEARD OF" if that was Sansa he would have told her he would only take her if he could hunt her down instead of a deer
The way she was folding him like a paper lol😂 Others had to tolerate or scream at him to put him in his place and she's here playing with him like it's easy 😂
