I love the admiration Ewan has for his character, he always goes on nerd-mode when Aemond and Vhagar are mentioned + Tom’s enthusiasm for Aegon as well
@@mclarenrob2Ewan in general just really loves Aemond, it can be seen in the “Would you rather” video HBO posted where Ewan brought up Aemond in every scenario and in other promos he said “I don't think we've seen anyone as insidious as Aemond in Westeros. He’s going to play you like a violin & you're either with him or against him.” Dude just really loves him
I love how serious Ewan takes the world and Aemond. You can tell he really studied up on the character, the dragons, and the world, makes me happy as a long time reader and fan of ASOIAF and it’s world.
Really like how they’re complimenting each other. The actress who pays Rhaena did mention Team Black’s biggest weakness though - the way they’re always talking about what they deserve while Team Green is actually working for what they want.
It kinda makes sense, too. In an hereditary system you follow a series of rules, and if you're in the favored end of those rules you're allowed to relax, whereas if you're trying to take an inusual place it takes active effort
The problem with the greens is they all want different things. There’s no singular goal in mind. There’s no real unity in leading the pursuit of one singular goal.
@@hajimereactions0 It's a massive battle and at the end Rhaenys comes on her dragon Meleys and starts burning the enemy army but falls into a trap and is attacked by Aegon and Aemond on Sunfyre and Vhagar, and it's just a really epic dragon fight that ends in Rhaenys and Meleys dying, but Sunfyre is also badly wounded and Aegon is so badly burned that his armor melted and fused with his flesh. We've seen several shots of this battle in the trailers.
@@hajimereactions0after beheading Lord Darklyn, the Green Army marches towards Rook's Rest. Lord Stauton(Lord of Rook's Rest) closes the gates and sends a raven to Rhaenyra pleading for aid. Rhaenyra had not sent an army but she sent her former mother in law Rhaenys on her dragon Meleys. Meleys burns the foot soldiers and every arrow that hits her only ends up making her more and more angrier. Neither wood nor iron was able to withstand the dreadful fire of the red queen. Then, suddenly Aegon and Aemond appear on their dragons from nowhere. The Greens had laid a trap and Rhaenys fell right into it. For her credit, she made no attempt to flee. With a glad cry and crack of her whip, Rhaenys turned Meleys towards the foe. Dragons were attacking each other with fire so much that it looked like a second sun was formed. Meleys managed to remove one of Sunfyre's wings and was tightening her claws around his neck. Vhagar rains fire on them both, resulting in Aegon and Sunfyre getting crippled and Rhaenys and Meleys dead. The armour Aegon was wearing fused into his body. Hope my detailed explanation helped.
@@Jrdn357Jesus!!! His flesh becomes fused with his armour from being burned so badly? Oh my gosh that is horrific! Like my reflex is immediate horror and imagining the pain of that 😳😳😳 (maybe because I suffered severe burns as a child) and knowing how graphic this show is I’m sure they’ll show it… does he become completely disfigured all over then? Absolutely brutal stuff…
I saw Eve Best in the still for this video and that was all I needed to watch it 😅. She was fantastic in Nurse Jackie, she's absolutely fabulous here, and I wish she had more screen roles, but she loves the stage just as much, and I can understand that.
a woman that misconstrues her husband's dying words in her own favor and yet can't do more than carve a window in her prison of male servitude ??? alicent hasn't done shit
@@davisj7973 She’s lying to herself about believing what Viserys said in order to justify her actions. And every woman in medieval times has to carve a window in their prison. This is a society that limits women’s power. Rhaenys was projecting her own situation onto Alicent in that scene (she’s the queen who never was, the woman who lost the throne and just obeys her husband and his ambitions).
@@davisj7973It really wasn’t for her own favor, it’s Visery’s fault. Alicent herself throughout her childhood defended Rhaenyra, and even know holds love and mercy that even her own son is calling her out for it. The Aegon last words were random and out of context to Alicent so of course she got the wrong idea. Keep in mind the time period as well. Alicent, as someone who does not have Targaryen lineage, managed to become queen consort (and queen for a bit) in an environment you least expect. So of course the other side is praising Alicent’s mind and ambition because of how strong she has been for years despite everything she’s been through and that toxic royal council.
@@userAKANECHI she didn't do any of that though. all she did was misunderstand. She didn't become queen because of her own mind and maneuvering. She did in the book. She is a placatingly dutiful bimbo in the show. Viserys's words weren't unclear. He said the song of ice and fire, she didn't inquire about that. Viserys didn't say yes our son to her question. He kept talking about Aegon's dream and uniting the realm. Why wouldn't her son Aegon tell her about his own dream? She didn't care, she willfully misunderstood, and it's pathetic. Keeping in mind the time period does nothing to change what I've stated.
@@BelovedAlicent She wasn't projecting, she was calling out the fact that Alicent is nothing more than a rat in the walls. At least you can admit she's lying to herself about the prophecy...
Man seeing Ewan Mitchell's portrayal of Aemond and Matt's portrayal of Daemon makes me want to see their conversation already before their epic showdown won't happen probably till late season 3 tho
Feels like this is where the "Game Of Thrones" really started. The destruction caused during this was felt for centuries, and without a steady Dynasty, the Kingdom fell into peril.
My fear is that HBO doesn’t use its time wisely with these episodes, there won’t be crazy time jumps like there were in season 1 and we’ll need a lot of bases covered with only 8 episodes. That said I have faith in the showrunners and the team to not make the mistakes they made with the later seasons of GOT. Season 1 was a triumphant return to Westeros and I am beyond hyped for this second season!
Wow!! That was something else to see Aemon out of Drag!😅..I meant out of his costume! I could NEVER recognize ANY of the cast of I walked by them on the street. Their costume and makeup and wigs are just amazing! I wonder what the wardrobe budget is? I'm the millions.... maybe even more I'm sure!
Maybe he's speaking from his experience of this season, cause I mean all I remember is alicent being a nervous wreck all the time ...he's definitely got to be talking about this season.
No, we only know the 3 conquest dragons were named after gods of the old Valyria. That guy talks nonesense, he also said Aemond is some sort of master mind that will play you like playing a violin or something like that. I was like "what?!" 😄
