Fire Stick TV Remote Not Working (PERMANENT SOLUTION) 

I got to "repair" my remote after seeing this video. Just needed to update firetv remote via firetv app on phone. It updated and has started working. Thanks.

Thank you, you fixed me!! Very wise and smart to double check the basics - one or my "new" batteries was dead upon measurement with multimeter. Then I re--synced with home button ,which I did not know this trick. again, thank you!!!

great concise video. went through all the same steps before i found this and found the same issue. the contacts were clearly no longer contacting. one issue you can have if you push the internal contacts around is to have the negative wires touch the positive plates for each battery. i used a bit of electrical tape to prevent them from touching. terrible design. when that was happening i could feel my batteries start to heat up. im sure this is another reason for these remotes to fail and eat batteries it is such a terrible design for the battery connector. it is annoying replacement remotes are $20 and a whole new stick lite is $35, pushes you to just buy another stick and throw away perfectly functional stick and remote. the app is a great backup but not as convenient as the actual remote for me. and getting the back off these remotes is a nightmare due to the glue. i had to damage the edges of mine quite a bit. maybe careful use of a heatgun would help but it may not depending on the glue and i didnt have one to try out.

Useful bro ... My 2nd gen remote is not working ... I referred many videos i just opened and adjusted the connectors but can't fix the issue ... Am gonna try ur method ... I have a query plz clarify how can i connect firetv with my phone through Wi-Fi ... Mind it Remote is also not working ... Plz help me to rectify the issue ... 🙏

False video. Opening is not possible in the given way. Seems both parts of the remote are stuck together by some glue.
