Honoured that Mr. Ferguson had a look at a gun I was (very slightly) involved in designing (the .44 Vendetta)! Conceptually, the gun is partially inspired by the Raging Bull, which was a gun we had in previous Rainbow Six games, though this is a different gun that has been heavily customised by Deimos. As for the fanning, yep he's right, it's totally superfluous. Deimos is the kind of guy that sometimes does things purely for the cool factor. He's also bit of a Bass Reeves fanboy, so he integrates some Wild West anachronisms into his style. Love these videos! Keep it up!
Yooo tracheotomies you probably dont remember but we met playing a while ago and my friends tkd you because they saw your dev skin and thought you were cheating
A thing to note is that despite it being a double action revolver the motion Deimos is using could in theory help smoothen and lighten the trigger pull because many double action pistols have a heavier trigger pull from the hammer down position.
@@znon_ Oh I definitely remember hahaha. I had a good laugh about it. Hopefully your friend has figured out safer ways to threaten cheaters since then than what he was doing.
Please Jonathan Ferguson, the keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries museum in the UK, break down the weapons from *METAL GEAR SOLID 3* before the remake comes out. So many weapons in MGS3 to react and comment on like the Patriot's infinite ammo magazine, the EZ tranq gun, Snake's customized officer M1911A1, Snake whittling the pistol grip to use a knife for CQC, Ocelot's SAA juggling skills, The End's paratrooper tranquilizer Mosin Nagant, the Davey Crockett recoil-less nuclear launcher and Eva's chinese Type 17 mauser clone with her "bandit shooting" technique. There are so many more other interesting trivias and weapons in MGS3 so please Dave and Johnathan, please consider making a video for the MGS3.
Why wouldn't they make the video AFTER the remake comes out? I would much prefer if they did a video on the weapons of MGS4 or something, as that definitely won't be rereleased for a while.
Those are some good ideas for them to talk about. I would like to request you also ask about Volgin using his electricity to discharge the 76.2mm bullets from his fist. Would be interesting to hear Jonathan Ferguson's reaction lol
Johnathan saying the "flipflop" hanging off the side is the most offensive gun charm ever has clearly never taken a chancla to the back of the head from two rooms away
i wouldnt go as far to say that, but it is quite annoying. i think it mightve just been the person recording the in game footage didnt think to take them off before recording. i think some of the skins changed the entire model of the gun as well, like the not-AK.
@@davechongleluckily none of the skins equipped in the video changed the model of the guns. I find the skins distracting, mostly actually in game, so I use more casual and sleeker skins that actually just look nice and subtle rather than overly expressive
I agree that Jonathan Ferguson, Keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal Armouries museum in the UK ought to have a look at the weapons of the Valkyria chronicles series. Edelweiss.
@@lionblaze99 wonder what his reaction will be when he saw a light machine gun wielded by a 15 year old girl, yup, there's a 15 year old girl in Squad 422, which is a penal unit featured in the 3rd game, basically like Spare squadron from Ace Combat 7, and her name is Amy Apple, which likely implies that she is the most innocent out of the bunch.
@@jamesduke5848 No, it is the diamond skin. the reason it looked black is the game's lighting. Also I hope you realize that diamonds can be different colors... right?
IIRC The Gonne-6 was added in as a mid-season balancing measure and just pawned off to multiple characters, not introduced with a character and thus within their thematic design sphere. I'm imagining they just needed to quickly create something good looking and mechanically plausible, and didn't have time for a deep research project. To add to the "controlled rush job" evidence, The Gonne-6 doesn't have a reload animation, as it's a single use utility in game.
I'd also like to add (more for Jonathon's sake, because I'm sure most of us who have played already know lol) that the Gonne-6 wasn't added to make little peek holes like the clips they showed. It's a utility clearing device. The deployable cover shields, Castle's door/window barricades, bulletproof cameras, essentially anything that can't be taken down by a normal bullet or melee hit, especially so if you need to get rid of it from range. I will say I think it's a bit silly that it's single-use, I think two would be perfect, but I'm also a casual player so take my opinions with a pinch of salt lol
@@rsa.crabguy7583 I understand im 5 months late and this is a little nitpicky, but if every flex op w/ a gonne-6 had two charges, that would make ops like Ash, Zofia, Flores, etc. mostly obsolete
Please Jonathan Ferguson, the keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries museum in the UK, break down the weapons from the Killing Floor 2 befor KF3. That games guns and gunplay is something else.
They did give it a look, but they hardly touched the reloads at all, and there's still so many other weapons to look at. An odd, niche game, but definitely well built with a lot of great detail in the firearms.
While I've never once, in 20+ years of gaming, paid for a cosmetic item, I would pay for this if it was supporting the museum. Money going to support something like the Royal Armories Museum would have my digital wallet open. I just don't understand paying money to have my player wearing a sweatsuite or similar.
Jonathan Ferguson, keeper of Firearms and Artillery in the Royal Armouries in the Uk, i'd love to see your reaction to Generation Zero, the guns are well made and look great, the there are some features i'd love to hear your insight in!
I wish that you would show cursed guns as the initial reactions but then show the default for the remainder so he can actually go over how well the game did.
First Mistake I’ve ever noticed: 416 is piston operated, there is no tube venting gas to the boltcarrier. It’s more an AR18 than an AR15 type of action, comparable to a G36
I thought i lost the plot when i heard that yeah. But to be fair with the amount of guns he's talking about it's only a matter of time until something slips through. Or maybe there was more to what he said to clarify later but didn't get cut into the video, which happens at times with these videos.
I'm at a pub and I opened the RU-vid app to come here and request Criterion Games' Black be reviewed by Jonathan Ferguson, Keeper of Firearms and Artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK, which houses a collection of Thousands of Iconic Weapons from Throughout History.
I love when we get episodes that have reality baked in to them, not that Helldiver and Destiny weren’t both extremely enjoyable, but it’s always more fun to see Johnathon pull out the real world weapons to compare them with. Edit: also the Gonne-6 looks kind of like an under barrel grenade launcher if you made it into a standard pistol style weapon.
It really is cool hearing about those tiny details in guns that bear history behind them. Like these niche little features are immortalised in the digital world along with the weapon itself and seeing possibly more use than the real life counterpart.
Please, Johnothan Ferguson, the keeper of gun at royal museum, review the weapons of the Bonelab mod called Rexmec Weapon Pack, the amount of detail added to those guns are insane.
That revolver at the beginning actually has a basis in the S&W N-frame IMO. The K-frames are medium sized and mostly thirty eights or light duty 357s. The more traditional large frame .44 is the N-frame. The L-frame splits the difference between the two. Great catch on the Colt-esque trigger guard scallop! Love the videos and seeing Johnathan's take on things, as always. Keep up the great work!
@@bradprater4789 the ones that at least sort of look cool I can get. but the super bright and colorful meme ones just kinda take me right out of the game. i suppose it just depends on how seriously someone takes their games, for some its "haha funny gun", for others it kinda ruins their experience.
To someone who isn't into actual guns, the gaudy skins aren't particularly more egregious or unrealistic than any of the others. I'm sure most players see guns skins like vehicle skins, where pretty much anything goes, and a "fun" skin is better than a realistic skin by default.
18:06 That was not Black Ice skin, is the "Platinum" camo you can buy with 90K credits. Is one of the most common camos that everyone in the game can get XD
Someone should have told him that the vendetta is being used by a former counter terrorist instead of a current one and that reflects in his custom revolver
I would really like you guys to go back to Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter and to specifically cover the MRI Caseless Rifle and the M8 collection of rights specifically. I've been asking you guys to do this for over a year now.
For the AA12 the reason it’s like that from what I’d assume is their decision to change it from 12 gauge to slug rounds due to the low pick rate for shotguns in game still yet I’m not sure on that one🤷♂️
I kind of want to see this series cover the guns of the new "Delta Force: Hawk Ops". They seem stripped right out of COD but I'd like to see Jonathan's response to what they've done to that franchise, especially considering his fond memories of the early Novalogic titles. I sense emotional damage. Fantastic video once again guys!
Absolutely love Hunt Showdown, it'd be so cool to see Johnathan talk about that game considering how many of its guns are base off real weapons. But like you said there is a couple oddities. Like the bomblance, or the cyclone
Considering they have assault rifles chambered in 9mm and sub machine guns with rifle calibers the whole game is pretty scuffed when it comes to the finer details
I've seen a .22 ar-15 conversion while out at the range, the guy had to shoot it super slow (slower than what the range already permits) so it didn't jam. I honestly doubt you could get a full auto pistol caliber in a rifle based on videos i've seen and evidence in real life. double feeds are a real issue.
Fun fact, Zofia’s AK is a completely buildable rifle. It’s a Midwest Industries handguard with the RMR upper handguard, a Hera Arms stock, and a TWS dog rail. I know, because I built it lol
Yeah - Jonathan would have probably picked up on it if it wasn't for the weapon skin (Since I don't think any of these ultramodern parts come in damascene and weathered wood :P ). Are those bits actually compatible out-of-the-box with a Beryl? (Or did you just use a different AK-pattern as a stand-in? I'm guessing not many people would actually have a genuine Polish export)
@@BackwardsPancake well the polish rifles (at least the Beryls) are very well made and decently popular when it comes to imported AKs. either way, ir was probably a stand in, as the actual Beryl uses a different receiver and rear trunnion design than standard AKs.
@CharlieFoxtrot128 Ah yes because I want to stop the video every few seconds leave RU-vid open another browser google the name of the weapon and look at the pictures of which at least half aren't even accurate...
"Something paraded at Shot Show and it disappears the week after and is never seen since" If there was ever a statement to give him United States citizenship because dude gets it....
I'd like to see Jonathan Ferguson, Keeper of firearms & artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK have a look at the wacky weapons of Roboquest. He had such a good time going over the guns of Borderlands, those would be pretty close to it.
maybe for the next react. the guns of Planetside 2 could be interesting with gauss weapons, plasma weapons and good old gunpowder weapons. infantry and maybe vehicles ?
thats what i thought too at first, but really the only thing it has in common with the USAS12 is he sighting system. other than that, when you look at it side by side, you can clearly see its a modified AA12
god forbid a man make a small, understandable mistake that literally means nothing nor changes anything about the video. its black and looks like ice. there is a skin called black ice in the game. not only are you scrutinizing the tiniest of mistakes, you are judging his entire role based on it. touch some grass plz
