It's hard to say, Firecom is still in business but they do not seem to install this style of alarm anymore. I wonder what the electronics looked like that generated the tones for this system in the real world. Or even why this type of tone was picked in the first place.
The siren sound was actually a recording of an old hand crank siren. The reason it sounds so "eerie" is because it cuts off and loops only a few seconds into the recording. Not just the video, or the recreation where you got the sound from. This was a "feature" of the original alarms. Definitely an odd one.
The 8500 used 2 audio generator cards to generate both tones and switch between, the reason the tone is not used anymore is probably due to change in fire alarm code, yes the 8500 has been out of production since the mid 90s when the new LSN2000 panel released and replaced it, they use a regular slow whoop tone or temporal 3 chime now ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zHuHAERziSs.htmlsi=W0fv9yoqCo0oV-qk ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dnr-RMTNzxA.htmlsi=NBUZ9UHlfFXzl1UJ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SYpqaNKxa3I.htmlsi=aE-f35gqMRSII3Jl
i love the FireCom 8500 tone even tho its creepy AF its pretty nice but kinda rare new york has a ton of FireCom up there also wheelock fun fact the WTC 7 had this tone and i have a wheelock SafePath and will be putting the FC 8500 tone on it
@@Weihuanwu, E70's were used in building 7? The new wtc building there now uses E70's. One WTC today also uses a Firecom system with e70's, e90's, and some other, Wheelock, speaker strobe. But the signal the current Firecom uses is code three.
Don’t worry. The last people where evacuated minutes before it fell. Nobody died. However, in the mall this alarm played too. And I think there were some casualties there. But idk.
@@DatamasterCorporation Evan Fairbanks footage, but nvm, it actually didn't use Firecom 8500, I did research and found out the video was actually quiet and the firecom had been edited in on a fake version. I realized it like yesterday or a day before. Sorry. I am unsure but I imagine it must've used the same alarm as buildings 1,2,4,5, and 6.
@@DatamasterCorporation Correct, everybody was evacuated before the building really collapsed. So it *was* properly controlled and luckily everyone was out before the collapse.
It's a modern fire panel that is set to play this alarm when activated. I am not really even sure what an 8500 looks like. From what I understand, Firecom reworks, and rebrands fire alarm equipment. So the 8500 might be something else entirely if I am correct. That doesn't even really seem to be their main focus as they make a ton of other communication equipment.
This is just a fire panel that it hooked up to a MP3 trigger board. I am not aware of any active installations or photos of what the panel even looked like. There were probably only a few installations of the 8500.
Hi You loaded up cockpit sounds of the 717-200 in the past. Do you have access to cockpit sounds in good quality of C-17 Globemaster III ? The voice is the same, but the recording is different. Also it sounds more serious compared to the 717 version. The voice is the same. Also the C-17 uses the same voice for TCAS II, and for special aural warnings like: WACS FAIL WACS FAIL MISSILE LAUNCH OBSTACLE LEFT OBSTACLE RIGHT OBSTACLE AHEAD WINDSHEAR WINDAHEAR HYDRAULIC HYDRAULIC 4, 3, 2, 1 GREEN LIGHT (FOR DROP OFF) TWENTY MINUTES (as Time Marker) May be also for weather radar and much more other callouts. Unfortuntly I could find any a Sources.
I have not been able to find these sounds my self, I think the missile launch CAWS is on youtube. Maybe you can find a simulation of the C-17 that has some of these sounds. You might also have some luck bu writing to the Boeing company and inquiring.
