I've been sewing for years, but this was my first time doing so by following at Sew-Along! And what a fun experience it was:) Thanks for your calm, measured approach that was informative and encouraging. I really enjoyed making my tote right along with you, and appreciated that ability to pause or rewind to look at a step more closely. Thanks so much for posting this - it was super helpful!
Anna ... all three week's videos were excellent! This was such a fun Sew Along and I can see making another one or more ... for sure!!!! I will post on Instagram in a bit!!!! Thank you so much!!!! Cant wait for the next Sew Along!!!!
Hi! Is there another tool you can use for punching the holes for the rivets? :) I have everything and am ready to start but just realized I only have a dowel for poking holes--it's not like a hole-punch. Thanks!
Loved this sew-along, and your easy to follow instructions. I missed what kind of interfacing you used on the cotton fabrics. Can see a few bags coming up for my "Knitty" friends! Thanks again.
Hi Cindy, it depends on if the waterproof canvas is sturdy enough for a bag. If it's an 8-10 oz. weight or more you'd be okay without. If you do decide to use interfacing, a sew-in interfacing might be best as I don't believe you'd be able to fuse interfacing to the waterproof treated surface. Another option would be to use a sturdy fabric (such as an 8-10oz. canvas) for the lining pieces instead of quilting cottons. Hope that helps! :)
Hi Holly, here's the link to my photo tutorial for rivets (at the very bottom of the post I have links to the shops I typically buy rivets from and the punch I use): noodle-head.com/2015/07/install-rivets.html Let me know if that helps! :)
