let me guess. the average number it goes back to is 16.38KB. if so, that the equivalent of 0KB. the 16.38KB is the minimum the app needs to be ready to open once you click on it, on apps built in to the firestick, other apps may required a little more KB. however, as long as its KB and not MB, you are good. it's always been that way, amazon just hid those number on previous version and showed as zero, but now they are more open with the details. so don't worry, you have cleared the cache. thanks

Where did you see it advertize with 8g? it's always been between 5 and 6g depending if its a firestick or cube!

WOW! in all the years of working with firestick i've never notice what they advertised it as. i always went base on what i actually get (See) on the firestick..... Anyway! i called Amazon Firestick Dept. to ask why they are advertising 8g on their firestick when it shows not even reaching 6g. This was their response: (Uuuuuuhhhhhh!!!).... LOL, Yeah that's what i got from them. so i decided to do some research and this is what i found. To Start we have to understand the way they state this storage. 8g as a whole, but they don't tell you is that 3g or close to 3g are being used on pre install apps, interface & all amazon issue updates. To put it simply, just figure the OS of the Stick, as well as the Apps that are included, which can not be deleted, but actually part of the Amazon environment and the space the updates used, is taking up the difference of the 8g advertised. So i was wrong in thinking the what you see is what you get. there is more happening behind the scenes that we think. I want to thank you for this great question because i always love learning something new about the firesticks that i can share with my audience. i don't think i would haved research it otherwise. i hope this clears things up for you as it did for me. thanks again
