I finished the game a week ago or so. I thought that I would never see another soul talking about the game as it was just so, old. Brings me a sense of warmth that people are still enjoying this beautiful experience till this day.
@@thetrashguy6934 didn’t we all my friend. the whole game was just a different kind of pain. genuinely felt like someone i had formed a connection with suddenly just left
Just finished my first playthrough, wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did. I love it. Such a rollercoaster of emotions that I wasn’t quite ready for.
You should give more indie games a try, I’ve found that they’re often far better experiences than most big games these days. There’s so many good ones out there waiting to be played. With that being said, Firewatch after all this time is still a one of a kind experience. I desperately wish there were more games like it.
Dude I literally JUST started playing this as a fan of your channel, so the fact that you're making a video about this game literally feels like a dream
Firewatch originally inspired me to make a game 3 years ago on Roblox (Yes. I know. Roblox. It's easy, okay?). It started off as just a little exploration and chill game with some puzzles, but then I realized it could be much more, so I restarted. Here I am 3 years later, still with barely anything done for my game, yet still coming back to the game for inspiration and enjoyment, hoping one day I could finally release the game inspired by one of my all time favourite games. Firewatch is a wonderful game, I highly recommend the game to anyone who just wants to relax and look at a beautiful artstyle with an amazing story. Great video, keep it up!
Firewatch is a perfect example of why branching out and trying something new can have profound effects. Or, can be simply an enjoyable excursion, if nothing else. It's nice to not limit our horizons. The fact it's only 2-4 hours also leaves little excuse. Certainly give this a try if you have the chance and the time!
The game came out at Games With Gold a few years ago, I had never even heard of it but I decided to try it. 2 days later I finished the game and afterwards I was staring at the ceiling contemplating life while absorbing the story
same deal here i knew of it but kinda threw it to the wayside. played it in the middle of last year and i loved every minute. introduced me to a whole new genre of games i’d never have paid attention to otherwise
The Journey is more beautiful than the destination, and this journey was truly amazing. The audio and visuals are soothing. There is a deeper meaning to this game, it's not what it looks like, the real story requires a mature audience. 9/10
I also came to this game late and just finished it. Couldn't agree more with your points, it's a story that will stay with me and a beautiful environment to explore. A real gem.
Wowza! This game is amazing, so happy to see you talking about this beautiful experience. This story hits hard because of the realism and once you've finished it you will sometimes find yourself thinking about it. Please give it your time
I completed this beauty back in 2018 and now again to obtain every achivement. I Have to say that; each journey that i take felt totally different and emotional as it can ever be. Amazing game that delivered its potential. Calming, relaxing and making player happy at the same splitsecons. Much obliged to everybody worked in Santo Campo. And thank you MasterAssasin for your presentation today.
Finally someone talking about how amazing beautiful and cool this game is it’s one of my favorite games and I agree about if they had made it even more enhanced I couldn’t do anything because I spent so long looking at the scenery
i finished the game a week ago, yet every once in a while i find myself thinking back to how pragmatic and warm this game made me feel. the brutal yet in-character ending was something that changed my world view on what it means to be a person
I highly recommend Road 96 it's nit a horror game but it is made by the same people who made this game it has a similar art style and is just as engaging and is around 6 to 8 hours long
Anytime someone asks me to recommend a game I go for two: Firewatch and The Forgotten City (which btw I think you would love too). They are super underrated and unforgettable experiences. I'm glad you liked it and I feel super validated by the video 😆
Very late watch on my end but don't regret not playing this sooner, be grateful you got to experience it for the first time! I would love to play this again without knowing what i was getting into
I have to play this game. One of my biggest fears is to be alone in a massive location, so I can imagine the game being scary sometimes. Thank you for this video, I probably would have never tried the game if you didn’t make this review
super underrated i barely started it one day took like a 3 month break cause i got distracted by other games then i came back to it last week and loved every second of it
I played Firewatch for the first time earlier this week after having it sit in my library for years. I enjoyed it a lot. It’s short but a really good story.
You should give a chance for a game called children of morta. Its a rogue like with action in every run. But in between the runs, you see the beautiful relation of the family and enhance the playable characters. And the pixel art really catch me. (Sorry about my english, im not so fluent)
Dude, you should definitely check out subnautica! It offers the Same type of nausea this game has, but underwater. I played it myself and i absolute loved it.
I was turned off this game because of the developer talking about banning PewDiePie from playing the game but tried it on Gamepass and was really absorbed with the story.
Firewatch was incredible for every reason you listed here. I went into it the same way, not knowing much about it and definitely not expecting to be scared by it, haha. A similar game is The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, which is worth a try if you’ve never played it. It gave me really similar vibes in that it’s gorgeous, but things are not quite as they seem. However it has some immediate jump scares so you are on edge right from the get go. It doesn’t have the slow build of Firewatch, but has a very slow burn, almost to the point you can’t handle it haha. Another unseen, unknown enemy scenario.
My theory: Delilah and Ned were working together the whole time to hide Brian’s death by distracting Henry with all the events of the game that took place (such as all the wapatii station and being tailed and whatnot, yk what i mean) to try cover up and get Henry’s mind off Brian’s death. Delilah knows Brian is dead and possibly even knows the truth to how he actually died. But she doesn’t want anyone else (Henry) finding out for her and Neds sake as they would both be investigated and even jailed possibly for both being apart of a murder, on why they kept it a secret that Brian was in the woods in the first place and why they kept his death hidden and hadn’t reported authorities. Delilah and Ned know each other personally and this is evident in many ways but the two that standout to me is that how Delilah’s chair and Ned’s chair both face each other from their lookouts and at the end of the game you see a photo of Brian and Ned together, those cameras don’t have timers that go off and take a photo. So that leaves the question who was there to take the photo? It had to be Delilah bc she was the only lookout that knew about Brian. Any other lookout would have called the authorities for a child being in the lookout role with his dad or would have reported him missing / dead by now. She’s definitely hiding something. Long story short, Delilah and Ned were working together and led Henry on abt pretty much everything just to raise his paranoia and get him worried abt himself rather than Brian (and his death) which both Ned And Delilah knew abt. Has Delilah done this with every lookout since Ned? Or was Henry more switched on than other lookouts so they had to do something to cover all of this up.
I just finished it last week after having it just be in my library. I do not like first persons but my gosh this was an experience. I'm gonna keep playing it over admnd over. And Harry from Mad Men being in it made me fall in love with it even more.
In many ways it felt like Dear Esther insofar as it told its story in such a unique way. I love a good story and Firewatch is one of the better ones. Try Everyone’s gone to the Rapture if you’re into story-driven walking sims.
The game honestly scared me the rustling in the bushes knowing someone was following me was honestly scary but at the end i soaked up the story and well its amazing
Just played it in 2024. Only thing that bothers me is i took the wooden ranger cut out to the cave with me to stand guard at the enterance. But after the door slammed and i worked my way around and back in, i found him IN THE CAVE just before dropping down to the kid. How do games predict or make stuff like this happen?!??!
I played it a few years ago, its more of an interactive movie than a game though or as some call it. a walking simulator. However I loved it and recommend you play it also.
Okay now i gotta play this game lmao, I've always thought it looked interesting but never really payed much atention to it. Btw a game I think its kind of similar in some ways like the sense of exploration, not being what it seems at first etc that I highly recomend is Outer Wilds. It is a one in a lifetime experience and in my opinion the greatest and most beautiful game of all time. If you do play it please avoid all spoilers because they can really ruin this incredible experience.
I was just looking up games to play if you love the Long Dark, somebody online mentioned firewatch, and I ended up watching this video right here. I have to say.. You're definitely making me want to buy that game haha. The art style and its beauty really do remind me of the Long Dark, except they're warmer and brighter
For some reason I was thinking about this before I went to sleep last night. I don’t know why. I’ve never even played it before. It just popped into my head randomly, remembering hearing about it years ago and wondering what it was like.
Started this day,and the first 10 minutes sucked me in,the dialogues and everything is soooo good👌💯🔥Oh and the other game I like so much till this day is The Long Dark❤
This video got you another subscriber. Firewatch is a gem. I hate that Campo Santo basically destroyed themselves right after. They started making a game with a terrible name, then got bought out and basically dissolved.
After i ended firewatch i went crazy searcching for someone talking about it and every single video was 7 or 6 years old, i feel like capo santo just forgot about it and left it to be forgoten
I finished the game 2 hours ago and the first thing I did was go on RU-vid and look into conspiracy theories , Easter eggs , interviews of cast from the game , different dialogue sequences , different endings , the soundtrack and playthroughs of other people playing it and overall thoughts of people on Firewatch in the form of an analysis. I don't think a game like firewatch has me this much hooked ever and I am saying this as someone who has spent half my life behind a machine playing video games also worth noting it took me just 2 days to finish to tell you how much I was intrigued by it from the start , this game truly is something else
Gonna buy it on PS4 now. Luckily it's on sale at the moment. Would you recommend playing and finishing it in one sitting? Or savor it little at a time over a few days?
Unfortunately I don't think I will ever experience something like firewatch I played a lot of of these walking simulators but none of them compare with it
I didn't realize there was a map for the first 2 hours of the game then i found out once i started using the map i started getting lost i had memorized the forest but the map was confusing
I played that game a few years ago, enjoyed it a lot; a common criticism I hear towards the it is the ending, but personally I didn't mind it and I think was the adequate one. On an unrelated topic do you have any interest in playing the Yakuza/Like a Dragon games? I highly recommend them.
The only game I regret spending money on. I got it a while before the pewdiepie drama with the creator went down and it was too late for a refund. Absolutely disgusting behavior by the game dev to file wrongful dmca takedown requests regardless of the person they are filed against. I love the game, I hate the fact they got a single buck from me.
