I've 'toyed' with buying a Sabatti too many time, now the model/caliber I wanted to buy is not in stock at my preferred dealer. This proves the saying, " he who hesitates, is lost'. Trifle you have here is very close to the one I was thinking about. Nice shot,... to say the least.
Been watching KEO channel blowing them up with a 300wm. Looks like if you still want to eat them use a 6.5cm. If you want to turn them into mist use a 300wm.
Another awsome video. I've been power watching your videos. Awsome content great guys. I used to live, breath and eat woodchuck. I haven't seriously hunted woodchuck in a long time. I used to hunt them with a spoterized Spandau .264 win. mag. and a Ruger M77 .308 win. Recently I owned a Remington VTR .223. I sold that. Now after watching your videos you encouraged me to get back out. I purchased a Ruger #1V from 1979 in 22-250. This gun is pretty close to new in box condition with a 1.5 lb. trigger. I'm going to top it with a Leopold VX3 HD 4-15×40. I'll be loading 55gr. VMax over varget. Keep the vids coming, love em.
I was actually surprised that the 147s did that. They are only doing 2700fps at the muzzle. I've had 140 ELDs that didn't expand that much. Sometimes it depends on how you hit em I guess.
Nice video I got a question for you did you ever see the Savage heavy barrel laminate stock 7 Mag stainless steel I just picked one up at the gun store it's got a 1 in round Barrel did you ever see this
I’ve been curious about those sabatti rifles. Their claims regarding increased barrel life and velocity, reduced heat from friction and better bc due to less projectile deformation etc due to the unique style of rifling in their barrels sound a little too good to be true. I’m interested to hear your thoughts on it.
All I can say at this point is one shot one kill. I've only been shooting 100 and 200 yard targets with this rifle so far. I can say that I am getting much more speed out of this 22" barrel than I expected. I will have to run this rifle for a while before I could tell you how valid the MRR is. But so far so good.
I've been laid up in the hospital for close to a year because of spinal surgery, so I have missed chuckin' a bunch this year. I have watched all of your chuckin' videos (about 10 times each)... doctors orders. Could you please tell me what kind of video camera and editing programs you use???
I think the biggest thing is the increase of eagles. And also we have been pretty effective over the years hunting our few spots that we are allowed to. But yeah I see a lot fox running around as well.
Most people would use a lighter bullet on something small like a chuck to get flatter shooting and a more explosive impact. Are you using 147gr because it's what you've got and know, or do you want the higher BC bullet?
I am running the 147s just to experiment with them a little. I normally run 130gr Sierras and 123gr SSTs. I am hoping to get some longer shots in with these 147s before too long.
