The first event of the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games saw more people on the competition field than any other event in Games history. The athletes’ first task: running, snatching, and climbing their way above the first cut line, which reduced the field to 75. The event was a well-balanced triplet of weightlifting, gymnastics, and running - all key skills for a successful CrossFit athlete and, as it turned out, perfect for forecasting who would prove to be the Fittest on Earth. Tia-Clair Toomey and Mat Fraser each took the win in Event 1 and overall by the end of the weekend.
