My 2021 f150 4x4 3.0 diesel gets 31 plus highway, why are the sticker mpgs so low?

If you want the diesel. Which I do is longevity, but as Ford progresses to the top. Like I always i say don't buy the 1st two years of this truck. I'm sure they will be better improvements along the way. Don't get too hyped about this new power stroke ½ ton. Just like the new 6.7 motor they started using the ceramic bearings in the turbo from 11-12 years and in 13 they went back to steel bearings for the turbo. Also, they might just put bigger brakes. I tow and as towing you need bigger brakes to stop that trailer behind you, I usually like using the trailer brakes because I don't want to wear out my truck brakes Just a word for thought. This is just through my point of view. I will be buying one of these truck but not for a few years.

Somehow this truck fits you emmy. No idea why. On a personal note, I like the f150 but unless I would start driving some serious work miles with this thing, the standard ecoboost would do me fine.

If you're pulling 11,000 lbs, the trailer will have brakes of its own. Also, "smooth" shifting is BAD. You want positive, firm (not banging) shifts. Let's try keeping things real, folks.

I just hope this diesel can handle the Ike Gauntlet better than that EcoDiesel Jeep Grand Cherokee that Emmy tested with Roman and Nathan a few years back because that poor Jeep tried its best to do its impression of Fukushima Diiachi as it overheated pulling a boat up the grade. Despite the lack of information from Emmy in this video, I have learned from several other sources this baby PowerStroke is not the engine choice for the majority of F150 buyers.

$45.000 for a Truck thats ffeen crazy 20 years ago my truck was under $30.000 and was a Dodge 3500 club cab 5 9 Cummings Big E 12 valve 5speed Granny gear and i could pull 25.000 with my 5th wheel or 10.000 bumper pull and get over 20 miles per gallon trucks have gone way out of site with prices priced out 2018 F150 with 2.7 eco boost $38.000 hope to get one end of 18 sales for $30.000

You better be riding solo if you want this puppy in a 4x4 model towing over 7K. Payload sticker is going to be under 1,500 lbs. So unless your riding alone, with no gear in the bed your real max trailer is going to be around 7K because of the 10-15% tongue weight rule. Just sayin.

Oh look!! A diesel f150 so you can save money on fuel while towing...OOOPS only available in higher model trims...Good one Ford. I guess i'll keep driving my 3.0 Diesel Grand Cherokee CRD. Same hp, same torque from a decade ago...

No thanks, I would rather pocket the money and go 3.5EB... Have way more HP and torque for towing..and when not towing, a fun rocket off the line...

No one understands the relationship between torque and horsepower. No one. Torque is a part of horsepower. Horsepower = Torque (ft/lbs) x RPM / 5252. You can have 1hp and 1000ft/lbs or 1000hp and 1ft/lbs. Guess which one can move 5000lbs of metal at 70mph down the highway? I can generate more torque with my arm than a big rig. I can't tow as much.

I'm a die hard ford & truck man & i wouldn't touch that pos with a 10' pole. Worst powertrain in a truck since pre 6.7 powerstrokes.

Engine choice depends on what you're going to use it for. If you Tow / Haul full time then get the V8 or Diesel. If you run empty most of the time get the Base, 2.7, or 3.5

Hindee Malkee exactly or buy an xl f350 you will have 3 times the truck for that same 45,000 and still get 22 mpg highway

Alex Stelling the 27 mpg is after the epa changed figures for 2018 so it’s up to date so I’m sure the 2019 eco diesel will best ford cause the rams new tech and lower weight

in the xl and xlt diesel versions available to fleet customers mpg is 28 highway for 4x4

The engine is underpowered (1300 pound payload with the diesel) overpriced (can't get a diesel engine in the base trims) and 10 years too late. Good one, Ford.

Tow big? What a stupid comment! It's tow rating is,less than the gas engines!! The mechanical fan sucks more fuel! So again Ford screwed the mpg. 70k truck and no vgt turbo broke! Joke!
