Never heard Jay compliment a vehicle more than when he drives a Porsche. Watch all his Porsche videos. Especially how he smiles when pressing the throttle.
this Patrick guy is amazing, he really knows his stuff (intellectually and practically), hes enthusiastic about it, feels part of the company. That's the kind of person you want representing your brand
Owning a Porsche makes everyone feel like they're part of the company. I've owned 3 of them in my life, amongst many other very good cars. Nothing compares to Porsche as a driver. If you aren't interested in pure driving, get a Lexus.
Yes, I actually prefer his "Pandemic Edition" episodes but I must admit that horrible iPhone camera looks horrible. The lighting inside his garage is really horrible.
@@herrunsinn774 those iPhone shots aren't bad at all What the hell are you talking about? And this is coming from a pixel owner who has one of the best cameras on the market.. And on top of that he's got fantastic light in his garage.. how many times were you dropped when you were a kid
Usually that's the case, but here the sales rep was so rehearsed he didn't sound spontaneous at all. Felt like I was watching an ad, unlike other JLG videos
I love old 911's more and more every passing year. They're so timeless and elegant. The new ones look nice, though a bit big in comparison. This one looks great, except for that plasticky lower front bumper which is very, uh, Dyson-like.
Jay Leno is a national treasure. From comedy to love of the automobile. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Jay. Also, how frickin’ sweet does that GT3 sound ? Whooooo very nice
Some time ago someone spoke about Mr. Leno and his car collection and how his relatively large personal wealth had allowed him to indulge in his interest in a way most of us could not imagine. At the time, Mr. Leno's car collection was around 250+ vehicles and his motorcycle collection was slightly larger (I think). He has made it possible for everyday people to see and get a 'feel' for vehicles they had not even heard of until they watched the video about that car, truck or motorcycle. Thank you once again Mr. Leno, we are blessed to have had you in our lifetime!
At a Porsche Rennsport Reunion a few years back at Laguna, Patrick took the time out of his day to talk to my then teenager about getting into racing for about 10 minutes. Such a cool guy. He and Porsche are a great paring.
He sounds more like a politician. Completely skirts over Jay’s question at 9:56 with random bs about heritage and has nothing to do with the question Jay asked 😂
I liked how Patrick always gave Jay just enough info to process and that kept the conversation flowing. Patrick knew when to let up and allow Jay to catch up. That gave Jay the opening to compare all of his 911's to this one. Perfect balance between Patrick and Jay.
Jay Leno is a lucky man to be able to indulge his passion to the degree he does. Thanks for sharing with us mere mortals who can only dream of doing so. Great videos. I look forward to them every day.
@@13Gangland Hardly. It's delusional to say that anyone can do and accomplish what Jay Leno has over his extremely successful career. He is exceptional in so many ways.
@@scottrobson4097 Sure buddy, however you feel about it. I'll tell you like this, people that are friends of the world, are enemies of God, and to say otherwise, is DELUSIONAL. Take it how you feel.
Video is fun as always. 10:04 "it will be gas that helps the enthusiasts' . I seem to remember from history lessons that Germans already made synthetic fuel from coal during WW2. There were some enthusiasts of it back then as well ;) .
@@FenrirYT13 Why should they let you test drive it? Everybody already knows this is an awesome car, there's way more demand than supply (so they don't need to), and those that actually get to buy it don't want to buy it if it's been test driven. That's the way it is with cars of this caliber and the types of people that buy them. Mine arrives in 4 months and I can tell you right now that I don't need to test drive it and I don't want anybody else test driving it before I buy it. We all know it's amazing.
I'm a fan of Patrick Long (as a driver), and what a great spokesperson he's become for Porsche. There's are certain insights into a car like this that only a driver like him could have.
I think he's just the right guy to push the Porsche brand to north Americans.....tire of hearing an overly technical guy go on about tangibles....I feel this guy gets how guys like jay feel about elite vehicles
@@markstrain8989 I can really appreciate a gun someone made with a 3D printer and some piping that doesn’t explode and can reliably hit the target everytime Damn impressive to make a thing that won’t blow your hand off
@@markstrain8989 Its almost impossible to put down, when you have a well made firearm. I bought my dad a Wilson Combat 1911 for his 50th and I almost didn't give it to him lol, when everything is hand fitted and just perfect, well it's divine.
I know, right! That comment went past way too calmly for me. That's an absolutely HUGE time gain on the Ring at that level. I wonder if it was recalled incorrectly, somehow. Doesn't seem possible...does it?
I just drove a 2022 911 GT3 on my birthday this last November(2022) at Dream Racing at the Las Vegas Speedway.... Um, WOWZA!!!! The straights just weren't long enough for me to get going top speed, but I was able to get up to 166mph at one point. I liked Porsche before that.... I frickin LOVE Porsche now!!!
I love how Jay or his guests aren’t show offs. About 90% of these car channels are just showoffs and want to brag about the cost or materials of the car. Jay is a true enthusiast who doesn’t want a car just to be seen in it.
Jay, I love watching these. I haven't driven since 2008 when I was in a car accident. Prior to that, my license was suspended because I had a heart attack. Because of other health problems, I haven't had a license or been able to drive, but now my goal is to get a car and drive again. I will be 69 on Sept. 6th, and I have made it my goal to get a car and drive again! I grew up in S. Calif and cars were everything there. My first car was a 57 Chevy I had bought from my Grandpa! Wish me luck Jay...I am on SS now, haven't any money saved, but I am a man of faith and I am on a mission. It will be so great to drive again. 4 of my 5 grown children live out of state and I will drive from Reno to New Jersey, Oregon, and S. Calif, to see them and my 10 grandchildren. Thanks so much for this show. It has been my motivation.
Nice to see Patrick again on your show. Met him a few years ago at Mosport in Canada, at the Pirelli World Challenge races, great guy to talk to about cars. Hope to see him again next time he races up here in Canada at Mosport, maybe in one of those new GT3s!!!
jay is probably one of the best car dudes ever. he just has a great way of describing cars that only comes from his vast experience with so many different ones.
@@eb5857 TV is on the decline. People aged 30 and below are watching via mobile devices majority of the time. As far as watching shows/movies? That has changed. People aren’t tuning in to watch by a tv channel.
The nicest thing about this video is that jay leno presented us some different/unique quality content, different from all the other automotive channels.
9:38 "form follows function" what an excellent description from Patrick, you could feel his excitement of the 2022 911. People buy the 911 because they like its appearance, unlike other manufacturers who change the design of their cars, and rely on customer loyalty in order to to sell them.
Maybe some people buy Porsches because of the appearance. Years ago someone said that all the wrong people buy Porsches and Mercedes for all the wrong reasons. It is amazing that, given that, that Porsche continues to build cars that are absolutely the best driver's cars in the world and have been since the 356. The cars simply beg you to drive them hard.
Toward the end of the video, Jay says, "He's the guy we all want to be." No, Jay, *you're* who we want to be. There are very few cars that get such high marks from Jay, and makes me wonder if he'll get one.
I can't afford a Porsche but this is the first one in a long time that I badly want. Is that piped-in sound or is that real sound? That is an exciting car and Jay likes it.
Always love to see a new video from Jay pop up, love even more when the technical aspects of the car are explained by a subject matter expert of the car featured on the videos. Awesome videos Jay. You can tell he actually loves his job, I might be a little jealous wishing I had an opportunity like he has.
It’s so true what he said when you need to experience a Porsche.....when I went in the GT3 it felt special....unique.....incredible....just something someone needs to experience
Over three years ago, I bought my 2012 Cayman. Compared to my modified RSX, I felt it was the difference between a machete and a scalpel. Hearing Jay use the same analogy to describe Porsche, made me smile. Thanks Jay.

Jay Sir, as one of the first employees at Road Atlanta, and growing up around race car shops. I'm 69 years young and would love to have an invite to see your garage. Problem is I can't afford the trip. But I do appreciate all you do to keep your Porsches and your garage open for people to see. Job well done my friend! You are a True Great American !!
I think the Porsche will improve when the paint Has been washed a good few times and the colour is starting to look a little washed out you could name it the jay limo special edition and at least it would look like it had been driven
I always dreamed about owning a Porshe 911. Closest I ever got was a '69 MGB. I wanted a Porshe originally for the cars they developed in the '30s and later for the fact that it was a family affair. Always improving and refining. Jay is right, when you drive one it feels so precise. This kind of car drives you. You're just there to give a little assist.
if we think about dying as if this day is our last day, time wouldn't fly as fast. It flies cuz we always think of next week, next month, or next year not appreciating the day before our hands.
He's the Americanest guest Jay's ever had on the show. He sounds like a sales brochure, he's "so excited" about everything and he doesn't seem authentic at all
@@lptomtom I disagree. The guy is living his dream, so of course he is gonna be a huge fan of Porsche. Go watch some interviews with him at the race tracks and you'll see.
At least Jay waited until 32:25 to mention the McLaren F1! The GT3 is the perfect example of advancing while not losing the analog feel that so many manufacturers push aside for "progress".
Jay is more than a car channel host. He's a true enthusiast, collector and restorer. Plus, he does what most other car channels DON'T do: Ride motorcycles.
Absolutely agree. It is the most fun you will ever have driving a car. I own a 2001 Porsche Cabriolet and I love it. By far the best purchase I made. Happy motoring Jay. Keep the videos coming!
Not really, 9/11 was never a good design... Porsche's have always looked like upside down antique bathtubs... and the 9/11's rear engine weight has always caused it to slide off the road backwards and kill numerous famous people! The mid engine Porsche Carrera has always been better in the twisties like a Pontiac Fiero is, and Chevy Corvette just became... but Porsche wouldn't put as much power in the Carrera because they knew it would embarrass their top dollar flagship 9/11... Just like GM wouldn't allow more power/development of the Fiero because they knew it would intrinsically embarrass their Top Dollar Flagship Corvette... for far less money!
I recently rented a 2018 911 for my birthday weekend. I've never enjoyed a car so much in my life, and I've driven Teslas with ludicrous mode. Nothing like it in the world. it was emotional even.
Yes, thank you porsche and Patrick but mostly Thank you Jay. Stay healthy and strong as you are doing a public service and my children need you to keep this candle burning
This car, honestly, there isn't any words i can add that hasn't been mentioned or glorified already. We should all know plenty better by now that the German's are truly spellbound perfectionists of engineering and manufacturing. I continue to be utterly blown away by Porsche products.
yeah, that airport in Berlin highlighted German prowess, and their high tech Big Yet Benign Pharma got a handle on Covid in mere weeks with no problems
@@bobjones2041 Live in Germany. Your post highlights the bureaucracy here, not the engineering or manufacturing. They definitely need improvements here. Specifically, no American car manufacturer comes close to German car manufacturers in engineering or design.
@@davidlynch9049 sure, just like Adidas are the best shoes, and Hugo Boss the best designer clothes and the Bayer vaccine the best of all Germans drive plenty of Asian imports and that because they offer the same at a fraction of the cost. I love my 996 C2 6mt, it's just what it says on the label. I've hotrodded it a wee bit, full aftermarket valved exhaust, (it did not come w Porsche sport exhaust), a tune to fix the godawful throttle lag, stiffer sway bars and boom, its my dream car. Drive it every chance I get...
I wrote my comment about him before reading yours...well played Hilton, well played. It's key how he says "we have bigger brakes...etc" instead of "it has bigger brakes"....ties into your comment.
This car looks gorgeous from every angle, the engine sounds like a symphony and I’m sure from the heavens Ferdinand Porsche is so proud of this amazing car!
I bought a brand new Porsche 912 in April 1967 for $4790 plus tax. I loved the car drove it to California and back to Philadelphia, It may have been well made for the time but: The throttle linkage ocasionally came off leaving me to coast to a stop, the clutch wore out in less than a year, a valve spring broke in the engine, the leather cap on the center of the steering wheel came half off, the heater on the passinger side stopped working because of a detached cable. I loved the car and remember it fondly. I think having it when I was 22 years old was perfect. Only gave it up because I had to serve in the Army and the pay was not enough to allow me to keep the car. I put 30,000 miles on it though, including a trip to Monterey California where the Army stationed me for a year, and back to Philadelphia. Driving it through the Rocky Mountains then down the California Coast to Big Sur was unforgettable.

@@BuzzLOLOL Have you ever even driven a 911? Having owned and driven countless 356/911 variants, on track and off, I have never lost control because of trailing throttle oversteer. You just have to understand the geometry of the 356/911 or any rear engine car. The 911 is a nimble and solid car in the twisty bits in excess of 100mph, and is a driver's car not suitable for "posers".

I learned how to drive on a manual...most of the younger people can't say the same thing however...in the sticks a lot of people can drive manual. Not so much in the city. @@budstermcgreen6360 I wonder how much that has to do with what side the steering wheel is on.. Living in a country where they put the steering wheel on the RIGHT (pun intended) side of the car, (given most people are right handed), you change gear with your non-dominant hand while holding the wheel with your dominant one.
I am an carinspector in Sweden, every year I inspect a couple of Porsches and I really enjoy it! The age of a Porsche doesn’t mather I think, they are enjoyable! @@BuzzLOLOL The earlier models required some learning to counter the rear biased weight distribution but the modern 911 is designed to handle very, very well. Advances in traction control, torque vectoring, four wheel drive, suspension geometry, dampers/shock rates, asymmetrical roll bars all play their part and the weight over the rear wheels allows for great acceleration. The newer versions of the 911 can match the handling of 98% of the super cars.
Good job getting Patrick Long on your show for THIS car!!! PORSCHE is a brand with no equal. The GT3 is why. Its the only brand and the only car that gets better, without fail, every time!!!
I hope Jay bought one after complimenting it so much. It's so crisp, precise, its like a scalpel. "I don't know how you get something much better than this." He should use it as his daily driver really. Hell, Porsche should just gift him one for all the cars this review is going to help sell!
