It is great to see how the Marine Corps is evolving towards the future. As a former Navy Corpsman, I was able to work with both Marines and Naval enlisted and officer, who were great leaders both male and female, that was back in the early 90's. So this is great news all way around !

The Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps is nothing new, it's been around for a good while now. Besides, all branches of the US mlitary have various ceremonial units and musicians, I don't see the problem with Corps having their own Drum & Bugle Corps, plus I'm sure that the budget for the Commandant's Own and the Marine Band is just a tiny fraction of the overall Marine Corps budget.
When women were first allowed in the Drum and Bugle Corps, they wore men's covers for uniformity's sake (females don't wear different headwear in a marching band, right?). In the mid-90s, the CMC decided he wanted the women to wear the female cover because he was tired of being asked why there were no women in "The Commandant's Own." Instead, we got questions about why the women wore a different hat.

Women shouldn’t be in the field and in some jobs of the military but I do believe they have value in other roles such as jobs in the air force and some in the navy(my opinion) but they are just as important and just as committed as men.👍🏻

When our good strong women are trying to be men the country will fail, it doesn't matter how many jets or bombs we have. When the home front doesn't have strong christian families with stay at home moms and hard working dads the next generation will be weak and want a socialist government to protect them. @@z_iuz239 I served in the Marines I know about all that bullshit ceremonial honor. Having been forced to train next to members of the band in the field I can tell you they are a collection of incompetent morons. The band is nothing more than a waste of resources.

They are representating the marine corps and also the US trough the music. All of them are professional musicians who trained and studiet for years to get a job in some orchestra. Especially this band is very prestigious for brass and drum players. Getting there is really not easy. Do you know some of them personally ? Because you said they are morons, so please explain. I think they are very talented guys and I also never met a musician with a bad soul. Maybe you did.
