GFRIEND has no bad songs

Room of Mirror is my favorite track of this mini-album. You can easily hear the string in the characteristic Gfriend sound. Their vocal is always excellent. Theatrical and orchestral it is. Gfriend proudly owns their special sound. They have excellent B-side songs. To me, the best of Gfriend songs would provoke the sense of nostalgia - either rhythmic or sentimental, never in your face or bombastic. I hope you will also listen to their Labyrinth mini-album. As a true fan to music, I think you will enjoy it as well.

Gfriend has been known for having japanese vibes on their songs since their debut in january 2015, and they have collaborated with Game Freak for the Pokémon XYZ movie ost back in 2016. They also have 90s vibes on their songs since their debut album and the rest of their discography have strong anime vibes. On the other hand, Dreamcatcher is heavily inspired by their overall style, but in a darker spectrum in terms of mood and visuals.

Yuju eunha and Umji participated in Apple, Snow time and tarot cards. Snow time was actually from Yuju's diary entry 3-4 years ago and the last song Northern stairs was inspired by SinB's thought on Gfriend and you know their struggles and growth despite having many difficulties...

I know everyone's saying Labyrinth, but I personally believe Gfriend should be experienced in chronological order since their work shows a very clear progression. It's also a good way for Buddies to explain the struggles of a group from a small company with low budget. These struggles really shape the title tracks of Gfriend and explain many of the choices behind their uniqueness.

Here's a trivia for you regarding this album: 1. Apple is produced by Bang PD, Frants and PDogg. Also, the members that joined in composing and songwriting this track is Eunha and Yuju (The main and lead vocalist). Eunha is one of the main composer and lyricist for Apple while Yuju works as the lyricist for Apple. 2. Eye of the Storm is composed by Yuju and the story behind the song is based on Yuju's predebut diary around 3-4 years ago. That makes her one of the main composer for this song. Umji (The maknae) also joined in this song as the lyricist. 3. Room of Mirrors is the classical GFriend as you said and it is correct. This is their generic sound. But this song kinda relates to their theories that is going on. Try to read more about GFriend's universe relativity to mirrors. It talks about hating the person you see in the mirror everyday and asking your reflection to change because you are trying to change for good but you keep seeing that person you don't like everyday in the mirror in a perpetual image that you never gonna love and you need to deal with that.

My personal favourites are Eye of The Storm and Room of Mirrors (in that order) I think the Labyrinth album, the one right before this, is vocally superior. All the songs on there focus so much on the vocals of the girls. Looking forward to you checking out their growth!

Let me rephrase it cause I love both groups. I stanned DC before they debuted & I stanned GF after they debuted. GF debuted earlier than DC, so as the senior group... What I said previously was: "DC is a Dark (or harder) Version of GF." DC said they love to have a collab w/ GF soon & wants to cover GF's debut song "Glass Bead" if they're given a chance. I am so excited that you listened to this album!! It was sk much fun to see you react so joyously to their music. Honestly, despite Apple being a deviation for them, it is not out of place in the rest of their discography. This album is definitely one of their best, but it fits in perfectly with every other album as well. I would definitely recommend listening to their previous album, Labyrinth, as that album and Song of the Sirens are very much tied together and tell a story. Some little things about Gfriend you can look out for and look forward to since it will take time for you to get to everything! -variety show queens!!! sweet and hardworking and competitive and also hysterical!!! -refuse to fail dance challenges almost ever and are the reason that 2x speed dances and single line dances got popular -their mvs tell a story!!! literally all of them can connect in some way, though the story leaves room for interpretation from the viewer (in the past year, they have outright stated this to be true with the "Tale of a Glass Bead" short films) -vocals for days!!!! Sunrise is my favorite display of how they are all vocal queens, but Yerin (technically lead dancer) covered Yuju's iconic high note in a title track when Yuju was ill -they were underdogs and still are in a lot of ways!! their company was very small and on their 2nd comeback, they managed fo shatter records and stand on their own amongst the big three (at the time, unheard of!!!). they have received a lot of hate for silly reasons, but they always stand stronger because of it -I know I started with saying they are variety show queens but seriously. They are SO FUNNY and always act so familiar with fans. It is wonderful!!!! Looking forward to more of your Gfriend journey and other reactions in the meantime!!!

In SOTS album, I love Room Of Mirrors the most, it is an Amazing song with Meaningful lyrics and beautiful vocals. Room of Mirrors talks about being trapped in a room of mirrors, forced to confront your own reflection, and coming to terms with your own existence in the world, definitely one of gfriend's best lyrically :)
