I remember how in bf2, when you did a roll in first person it looked like you were opening your arms for a hug while crouching and aggresively walking forward
@@liammeech3702 Rendering a viewmodel will almost always improve performance because you don't need to render stuff behind it. It was likely done to reduce how much of your vision was blocked when in the already blurrier reduced vision space.
Back in the day, my dad and I used to play in exclusively in first-person; I didn’t even know third-person was an option. Nowadays, I much prefer third-person, since I prefer to see my player character.
1st person perspective always looks strange to me. Even in the remake of bf2 where it looks great. I still never used it. Always glad to see the option available though 👍
I'm pretty sure first person is the base mode. Ik for a fact you start in fps mode in bf2 because I didn't know there was a 3rd person until like a month into playing
It played rral bad first person in the OG. Dont forgot we gotted halo.... It was a third oerson. In battlefront EA the first person is for the first time 100% a real fos shooter I do think tho its quite anoying to switch between both because of the special classes Fps space only would be🙌🫨
You can see how they rushed through developing the first person perspective. Not all the surfaces are rendered but it definitely switches up gameplay experience. Worth playing.
I mean they look oretty bad even for that time. It's neat and i appreciate that they even bithered to add in first oerson models rather than just making it look like old Ghost Recon games. But it's also oretty ugly too.
@@MintyLime703 Xbox exclusive Xbox exclusive PC game, Xbox 360 and PS3. Xbox always had better looking games compared to PS2 because it came out almost 2 years after the ps2 did. I wouldn’t say it looked “pretty bad” comparing the systems, it was just using the previous generations engine.
The 1st game in first person looked better than the sequel, at least when the guns were concerned. The first game being in first person each weapon had so much detail i was shocked as a kid, then battlefront 2 alot of those details were missing. Idk if pc was different but Playstation that was the case
First person was good for utilising awkward cover and attack angles like shooting from corners, pillars or in close quarters, also more accurate at long range due to the reticle alignment being more centered
In bf1 you also had first person for all the vehicles. They ditched this in bf2 cause of rushing the game but still. Also you could lay down flat in bf1 while bf2 only lets you crouch
So in both of the old SWBF and in the new SWBF2 I always play in first person when I can. While it looks a bit weird and can limit your vision a tad, it gives you a a scope like the first stage of a sniper rifle on most weapons when aiming down their sights. I also just love the little bit of immersion it gives. I got so used to first person that playing as a hero in third person throws me off a bit😅. P.s. I started playing the new SWBF2 on pc after they had gotten rid of the loot box crud and the upgrades for weapons and abilities were earned though level ups and achievements. On the Standard trooper classes I have maxed out their levels and unlocked nearly all of their weapons while playing in first person. Never got that good in the starfighters tho, I crashed a lot in first person🤣
On the PC BF1 2004’s 1st person applies to vehicles. Unfortunately, this never made it to console versions (at least for the ps2, that’s the console I had bf1 in). 1st person on consoles is only for when you’re on foot.
One thing I really wish you could do is use 1st person with the Clone Commando in the BF2 Reboot. I just think it would feel more nostalgia, despite not having the Republic Commando hud.
If they remaster battlefront 2 2005 it would sell incredibly. No horrible hero cards no shitty microtransactions. No supremacy allowing Rey to be on Geonosis fighting grievous. And for christs sake no stupid ass shore trooper on Hoth. If they just did a graphical update and make it so the units change “color” to match the map then it’d be perfect. Aka green for Kashyyk, blue for Kamino basically anywhere the clones were correctly
There are no micro transactions related to gameplay in the new bf2. Only cosmetic and even still, you can obtain anything without spending any money by leveling up and using ingame points you collect by simply playing. Supremacy Doesn't allow you to be Ray on Geonosis, they specifically made supremacy to be Erra locked. You are so wrong on every level bro
@@Brother_RonyThe hero cards aren’t a good system and it ruined the fun of BF for me. It’s the core design that changed, even the maps don’t play as well as they did in 2005.
Except for the Walker, the first person sucked. In EA was the first Battelfront it was a full blow worthy FpS! ❤ R.I.P Walker Gonna re try it in the "remake" I mean REPLAY 😂❤
EA Battlefront 2 was such a missed opportunity to have FPS modes for special units. Especially for the Commandos considering that the RC game's whole deal is having immersive HUD elements. Hell, i still standby that i think being able to go first person for them should have been a perk.
I was so disappointed that first person mode wasn't available for nearly all of the special units and ranged heroes in DICE's Battlefront II. The ship first person modes were fantastic, though the space combat was handled by Criterion, so they get the kudos there.
In the original Battlefront 2 I always play in 3rd person. In EA's Battlefront 2 I always play in 1st person (Except for the special classes and heroes because you can't).
Sometimes I wonder If I am not the only guy who play with 1st person view due to the majority of Battlefront's gameplays on RU-vid being on 3rd person I think 1st person is better for accuracy (since you know this is a shooter after all)
Please refrain from calling those vastly inferior Battlefield clones with Star Wars reskins a "remake" It's a ripoff. It doesnt deserve to be in the same breath as the originals, let alone hold the name.
Not going to lie the option of 3rd person and 1st option is honestly a must for battlefront. It sets itself apart as it allows people to play their preferred way. And I am glad it stayed in 2018
