This video is very helpful to me. I sprained my knee last night playing basketball, and I have a Marathon in 32 days. 7 days rest now shouldn’t impact too much on race day, i think I just need to focus on getting the swelling down as my quads feel strong after 5 months of training. I’m the eternal optimist and praying I’ll be fit to run by then!
Thank you! That was so helpful! I just hurt my knee, only two days ago, and it's very swollen but it bothers me to think that my muscles are all shrinking every day I'm not using them. This gave me a good place to start and you explained it perfectly.
I’ve reframed from squats and lunges, and missed working out because of my knee strain. This seems like a Safe Way to keep the quads working while healing.
Two weeks. Still can't fully bend. Im ok with that bthered a little progress. Swelling looks much reduced. Knees bends teo inches more than before. Im patient. And I teach ester fitness lol. I teach sitting at this point-- and my phone is ringing for more jobs! Ughh!
Last Monday I fell on the sidewalk and landed on my knee 15 minutes later it was swollen very bad well I had X-rays done and they said nothing was wrong with it but today after sleeping all night the knee is red and the back side of it is black and blue and the top is turning black
Thanks so much for creating this video. It's very helpful. I was just diagnosed with knee sprain and won't be able to get into physical therapy until next week. How many reps and sets do you recommend a day?
Thanks, straight to the point. I hurt my knee 2 weeks ago. So the best way for healing of the knee is to get the swelling down and pain before starting on range of motion right? Mine is a bit swollen, it has gone down but when I do range of motion it seems am causing the swelling not to go away. Help😢
I legs split on ice when I 💯 didn’t expected just like those funny videos. To save myself from continue splitting, I bent my knee to make it stop. Now I’m using a cane since then (1 week ago). I should have practised more at gymnastic for splitting to prepare for this! 😂
Hello there👋 whats the worst case of a sprang knee on heeling time? Like whats the longest a sprang knee will take to heal? I alright have 6 weeks and no major progress. I cant sit on a chair or get up from a chair or go upstairs. I can stand perfectly or possibly walk sometimes without pain. But i can't bent it 100% maybe 80 % before feeling pain internally in the knee or knee cap area. I can only bend it while laying down or standing. Without weight to be more clear. Any weight on it its just impossible or to much pain on top or the knee cap or quad like you mentioned. But no swelling
Yes, that tightness is most likely due to swelling in the joint from inflammation. If you can get the swelling to reduce you should be able to get the knee straight. We often use anti-inflammatories, sometimes ice, and elevation to reduce swelling. We have our patients keep moving but not do anything that increases pain or swelling.
Mines been swollen for a month and I still can’t walk normally but it’s decreased atleast since before I had a small bump on the left side but now it’s gone all it needs is the rest of the swollen and the stiffness
I hurt my knee 6 days ago, doctor told me it was a sprains, i can walk but i limp, i can bend the knee, and there's still some swelling (small), could that be the reason why i still limp even though i can bend the knee ?
It has been about a little over a month since ive sprained my knee and i still feel pain when i try and lock it into place. Im a little worried so what should i do?
Not being able to get the knee to lock out straight is common after an injury. Sometimes it can be due to swelling or sometimes there is some damage to the meniscus that keeps it from going straight. You can give it more time and as it heals a lot of times you will get that lock out back. If you still cant then see a Dr. or PT.
I twisted my knee playi popng football,,I was so tensed .Did a x ray and the report came out normal and doctor suggested to take bed rest for 14 days,,now its 20th day of that injury.I can walk but still cant straighten my legs to the fullest and cant bend my leg to the fullest but there is no pain like before but a little and there is still a swollen part above the knee.. Im still tensed what to do Please help
I’m an athlete and ten days out from a surfing injury-MRI says grade 1, but I’m still unable to bend my knee. Would swelling still be the reason here? Just not sure how far to push the knee?
@@hasib9607 They are better, after the fall, lots of ice and physical therapy they are a lot better, they still rotate which side is going to hurt and going hiking is out of the question. But I do have mobility. 38 years hard work/outside Zero knee problems, retire instantly knee problems. Go figure.
