this songs were done between the black parade and danger days, they were trying to do whatever, finding themselves again after the massive thing tbp became...and yeh, they shelved it until they were about to break up.
iirc they released these purely to build up hype for mcr5, which is why it isn't an album on spotify. it's more a compilation of polished demos than a studio album.
@@FabulousKilljoy you're probably right. Its a shame though, I personally love Frank's solo stuff, but I get his voice isn't for everyone, and Brad doesn't strike me as someone who would like it
I can't listen to that song anymore bc it just turns me to dust lmfao I listened to it throughout my Rough teenage years and yeah it just brings back bad memories 🥴 it's a shame bc it's a beautiful song
everyone out there be complaining about the Gnote when tlbye is the real tear jerker. YES I ALSO CRY TO THIS SONG, NO I CAN’T LISTEN TO IT WITHOUT BECOMING EXTREMELY SAD
Conventional Weapons is a collection of unreleased singles composed between The Black Parade and Danger Days. It is defiantly not an album. I personally love Danger Days, its just different
Basically, Conventional Weapons: We’re No Match For Them, was supposed to be the follow up to The Black Parade. There is a theme, the theme basically was trying to make songs that was easy to get on the radio, as an inside joke basically. They hated it. Hence the scrapping
they didn't hate it, it just didn't feel like them. From what I've heard/read it wasn't a joke, but instead a strive to go back to basics, and basically imitate the stooges
Some people are feeling guilty for liking it, but I don’t. I love all their albums. Some a little more, some a little less, but I mostly love anything they put out, whether they or anyone else likes it or not. 🤷♀️
The black parade b sides were either incredibly bland and underdeveloped or previous versions of songs that are perfected on the album. There isn't really much point
I love The World Is Ugly, too! It feels like the sad and emotional songs are always my favorite. And when I mean “emotional”, I mean the ones that make you cry.
Brad, even if it's not for a video, listen to their b-sides(that aren't in the albums), they are AMAZING!!! -Heaven Help Us (Welcome to the Black Parade ) -My Way Home is Through You (Famous Last Words) -Kill All Your Friends (Famous Last words) - Zero Percent (Na Na Na)
@@BradTasteInMusicOfficial There are a couple demos of unheard songs but they are garbage quality. Instead you might enjoy the b-sides from The Black Parade, which are almost as good as the album tracks. Although there are only three songs so I don't think you could get a video out of it
Yeah, this "album" is a pretty mixed bag, several of the songs are solid, and there are some pretty interesting moments, but it's definitely evident that these were songs left on the cutting room floor from the previous albums, or otherwise ideas that they worked with but eventually scrapped.
the mcr series will never be over. There's still: - Hesitant Alien - Leathermouth - Frank Iero and the Celebration - Frank Iero and the Future Violents - Frank Iero and the Patience - The demos - The extra dd songs (another song about cali, f.t.w.w.w, etc) - Their covers
-Professional Griefers -Getting Down the Germs -Falling in Love (Will Kill You) -Hazy Shade of Winter -Baby, You’re A Haunted House -Gee and Ray’s cover of Happy Together -Those songs that Gee released on SoundCloud
this was supposed to be the fourth album but was scarped in favor of danger days. it was made in 2009 and 22 tracks were recorded and a few songs that didn’t ever get released were preformed live during the back end of the black parade tour. check out live performances of the drugs and someone out there loves you cause they vibe
Me: really liking The world is ugly (because it has some special meanings to me and i like the song just by the sound) Bradley: okay I fucking hate this *Me crying in the corner*
This is not a video I expected to see! I'm sorry if you have felt pressured to do this video, I'm aware that we get a bit rabid when anyone displays and interest in MCR lmao
‘iT dOeSnT bLeNd In WiTh ThIs AlBuM” well bradley that is exactly why they decided NOT TO RELEASE IT AS AN A L B U M AND RELEASE MULTIPLE S I N G L ES INSTEAD
they were recorded at the same time, they were trying to intentionally not have a concept which is why it just sounds like a bunch of random songs. It's also not very good and was wisely scrapped.
yeah, these were basically transitional songs from between The Black Parade and Danger Days, and released as kindof a compilation series. Not meant to be cohesive or conceptual at all, and basically scrapped to go in a completely different direction with Danger Days.
some of these mcr songs feel very out of place indeed, on another note : REACT TO BONES, please 😊 the dude has over 60 albums under his belt, never signed to a label and has overall an amazing artistic integrity
@@Brandon4916 The thing is he does have a bit of an emo vibe wich Brad kinda digs reacting to i believe. And the point is not for him to like it but only to check him out. Also the melon (anthony Fantano) liked multiple albums from Bones (8/10) so why not Brad ? :)
While some of these grew on me more as time went on, I must admit, this was basically my initial reaction to most of conventional weapons. Considering the name of the project, I wasn't too surprised and neither was it surprising to figure out they weren't happy with it, so they decided to scrap it initially. But yeah I hear the comment section though. The b-sides off of Black Parade are some good shit. Glad to see MCR content on your channel again, not gonna lie. :D
Brad, I have a suggestion for you: Violent Things by The Brobecks. Made by a former Panic! member (Dallon Weekes) but it’s just Fever but better and without electronic garble.
I think Warner Music released this without their entire consent?? Kinda like Let it Be by the Beatles in the way that it was scrapped material from before their last album that the label made them release despite it being a little rough. Although Danger Days is no Abbey Road imo lol
Welcome To the Black Parade: The B-Sides Also each part of the album has a different sound (ex why Boy Division and Tomorrow’s Money sounds similar and the mood of The World Is Ugly and The Light Behind Your Eyes is similar)
Basically, they’re coupled into different styles. For example, The World Is Ugly and The Light Behind Your Eyes are more slow, sad, and emotional. And, Boy Division and Tomorrow’s Money both have more of a punk rock vibe to them.
This "album" was recorded after the black parade . They just wanted to make rock songs quickly without thinking so much in an album theme. Thats why it kinda sounds disconected somehow hahaha . But then they left these songs behind and started with Danger Days.
@@CycleOfJudges I feel like the maturity of Wildlife's pretty universal. Like, if he "gets" the vocal style, he'll 100% "GET" the music, and the beautiful stories behind it. I'd suggest Somewhere, but, as you said, it's waaay more angsty, and a bit too core-y at times for the man, me thinks.
@@nikodemvankenobi true. And its no shade on Wildlife. For sure my 2nd favorite. I just have an attachment to the other album for how it affected me at the time and all that. The way wildlife starts those first few song is pure gold.
@@CycleOfJudges Somewhere did have a pretty huge impact on me, seeing as it was the CD that I bonded over with my former partner, didn't really have what it takes to listen to it afterwards, lmao. But, all the events that led to that change of status, got me to appreciate Panorama even more. Like, if I had to pick favourites right now, Panorama would e a s i l y snag the top spot, There You Are is capturing some looong repressed emotions
Gerard doesn't even like the world is ugly. The original version was completely different ( it's only shown live and bad quality but still) the song's lyrics were almost entirely different and so was the instrumental. He said that he wished the original had been recorded in studio, because he actually disliked how it turned out. Most ppl haven't actually heard the original, so give it a listen ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZneJUCmOdGc.html
Yeah, as you said, it's more of a sort of compilation of songs than an actual album from MCR, because a lot of the songs from here are scrapped material that would have been their fourth album that got recorded and put aside before they worked on Danger Days, given the fact that the album was rewritten four times, so yeah, it's a bit more of scrapped material that went through the project that was going to be their fourth album.
okay so to answer your question,, conventional weapons is a compact of a bunch of eps. they were released at separate times but all in the same category.
They said in interviews that they had songs that would only see the light once the band breaks up... guess what happened a month after they released the last album of this project... yup.
