the most ridiculous part of this, is the fact that Geoff recorded ALL his vocals for this song in just about an hour. one single hour. the man is ridiculously talented.

Geoff doesn't do inhale bass at all. he mainly uses subharmonics for the lowest notes, or on occasion growl notes if needed for a specific sound. he has several tutorials/Q&A videos on his channel explaining how to sing low and describing in detail on how he does those techniques

Geoff said he does no inhales. He says he sounds like a dying frog. He’s gotten down to an A0 growl and a B0 subharmonic singing actual lyrics. That was only an E1. A subharmonic is when you use your false vocal folds behind your vocal chord. The only time most people use it is by accident when they sneeze. He’s just learned to access it whenever he wants singing. If you listen to the halo theme they do find an old subwoofer and crank it. Make sure you can do without them because they will blow

Im pretty sure geoff doesnt use his false vocals with his subs. He uses his true vocals to vibrate at a ratio of 3:2 for 1st subs. False vocal subs sound very different. For example the bass gangs cover of Centuries Jonathan Young does false vocal subs. Youll hear the difference

Layne, the beatboxer, arranged this and required Geoff's entire range, highest to lowest note ... at the time. He can regularly go lower now than that final E1, but at the time it was not reliable. He's still working hard to make it look easy, lower as well as higher. Just watch their silly mini, Peaches. The minions here are Lock, Shock, and Barrel. Yes, Eli can sing high but not as high as Earl, the minion in blue. He left the group in 2020. He's featured in Queen in Five Minutes.

I feel like a lot of people are so impressed by Geoff's base that they sleep on the rest of the band. It's INSANELY difficult to remain in character and still achieve those notes. Not to mention all of the beat boxing and harmonics. I really wish the rest of the team would get more props like you do, as well.

Poor Sandy Claws in the chair is Geoffs' brother-in-law. VoicePlay sometimes uses family members as extras in their videos. Geoff doesn't do inward singing. He explains this in one of his tutorial videos and why he doesn't do it.

Just FYI, IF I recall correctly, that last note is an E1, but it is not an inhale bass. Geoff MAY have gotten to Inhales by now, but back then at least, he didn't do them because they hurt his throat. Usually if you hear an inhale bass out of VP, it is by Layne, the beatboxer.

They actually did do this song live back in December of 2019, you can find the video on youtube. The sound quality is not the best due to both the quality of the speakers used at the venue and it being recorded on a phone, but he did hit that last note live way back then. At this point, I think Geoff had to wait until later in the performance for his vocal cords to be warmed up enough to guarantee that he could hit it. He routinely hits lower notes nowadays and has really developed the ability to slip in and out of subharmonics, which I think it really amazing (it's one thing to utilize the subharmonic technique for one note done at the end of a song, another thing entirely to be able to go back and forth between that technique and 'regular' singing and still maintaining control of both pitch and quality of sound).

Sandy Clay is played by Geoff's father in-law. The voice of Sandy Clause is actual done by Eli ( the bald guy dressed in red ). Eli is a voice actor as well as a member in Voice Play.

Geoff Castellucci mainly uses subharmonics and low chest voice to obtain these notes. while Tim Foust mainly uses Growl and low chest. the technique you were thinking of is called inward bass. There are 5 well known techniques that bass singers use and that I used when I was a bass, they are low chest, subharmonics, growl, inward bass, and lip rolls. although lip rolls are not common for acapella, it is mainly used when beatboxing.

Geoff Castellucci doesn't do one man shows. He does four man, sometimes five man shows. All Geoff, just several of him. His last video was a seven man show -- Folsom Prison Blues.

it's called ingressive phonation but that's not what he is doing here. he might be using a growl note or he literally goes to the low E1 note

It's cool you picked up on layers....yes, that's what is is, but in the actual voice. It's called subharmonics...you sing a note, and slightly dip into vocal fry...the combo of two sounds is one octave lower...tricky....

Geoff doesn't do the so-called inward bass, as it's known in the beatbox world. What Geoff does on his lowest notes that make the earth tremble is called subharmonic singing. I believe he has at least one video up where he demonstrates it and tries to explain what he's doing to reach those extreme lows.

Many many women love Geoff. And quite a few men too. :) Many of Geoff's videos are more of a one man show. Most of them in fact. And no he uses subharmonics. not in breaths. Oh and the "little bald guy" is also a voice actor, and was the voice of Santa in this.
