This video is all about ducks! The ducks, chickens and turkeys are enjoying the first snow. See my duck coop, lots of wild mallards and my winter routine at home for the birds.
Thank you so much for sharing. My family and i live in East Bridgewater MA which is a farming community. I can totally relate to the joy it brings in what you do. If only the whole world could feel this joy.
You continue to get better and better in front of the camera. You make it informative and fun! You are a kind, smart, and lovely young woman. Please keep the videos coming Molly.
Loved this video. It's really interesting that the chickens seem to like to scratch for the food, and ducks like to feed from the pan. Unless. They all have different food. Thank you for sharing this video. I really enjoyed it. I love snow also and it's really nice to see it. I live near Portland, Oregon, and all we seem to have around here is rain, but l like it too. Have a great day and happy holidays. 😊
Hey there Brad, thanks for watching! Everyone eats the same stuff. And yes they are funny to watch eat. I never k we ducks were such eating machines! Our snow melted because we got some rain the other day. I hope we get another snow before Christmas! 🎄 thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment! Happy holidays
A a kid we had rabbits, ducks Pekin and rescued baby mallards, pigeons, snakes (LOL) and cats! Lots of cat because of the corn cribs. I well remember feeding all of them during the winter. You brought back many memories. Thx.
@@BellsFarming Pray or prey? LOL. I had to put mine down last summer. Broke my heart. Strike that. Still breaks my heart. All our ducks and rabbits, etc, were not pets. I remember coming home after being out with a friend to find all our ducks on the clothes line. Back then hunting, fishing, gardening and our animals were how we put food on the table. Different times. However, I fear those days may all too soon be required of us. Thx again for taking the time to reply. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Reminds me of when my mom use to keep hens outside for eggs. Never had ducks stop by. Just fly south with the Canada geese. Molly very pretty scenery you have there.
I'd say that was real ducky but you knew that! The Mallards are personal favorites as we have a pond they love to inhabit several times a year. We had one "newby" mother duck lay her eggs on a large rock that sticks out of the water (providing the fish protection from the Blue herons that know they are there) only to see them roll off into the water... She did end up with three ducklings eventually. Good for you helping them out!
I live on a farm myself and people don’t realize how much they miss out on being outside with nature I could never live in the city…. And have I told you how beautiful you look even in overalls ❤
I couldn’t do it either! Thank you for the compliment! You are a farm guys hahaha no other type of man would think insulated overalls could look nice hahah thank you! 💚
The turkeys are pretty good with the ducks, I have had to put them in time out once for picking on a slow duck. But all in all they are great! I would say duck eggs have a more robust flavored. I actually can’t keep them on the shelf at our farm store. People really seem to enjoy them, or they have allergies to chicken eggs. I use them whenever I make any dish that requires eggs. Baking, meatloaf… thank you for watching
I am going back and seeing your earlier videos. I am glad to know that you are not raising the ducks to eat. Well, I hope not. Same for the turkey. Its great you help out the wild ducks.
The flag was at half staff , yes. I lowered it after the shooting here, and something in the rigging got tangled up and finally got it taken care of the other day.
Thank you for sharing. I'm glad you shared another video of your Ducks and others. Hope too see more. It's never tiring to hear all the sounds they make. Could listen to them all day. How potatoes production going? You getting geared up for Christmas?
I could listen and watch ducks all day! I love my birds. I’m glad you enjoy them too! Potatoes are going good. We are just finishing up grain cone this weekend
@BellsFarming Grain cone? Iam not sure what that is? I'm sorry. Hope that's a good thing? I could too, listen to Ducks, turkeys and Chickens. It's just relaxing.
Do you ever have any hawks or owls messing with you ducks and chickens? When I was a Wildlife Conservation Officer in Pennsylvania I was always getting calls from farmers having their chickens killed.
Yes I would say the only predators I encounter are from the sky. Hawks and eagles. I have had some birds just disappear. The scent from the dogs keeps most 4 legged creatures away.
Good Morning beautiful day 💪🏾🫴🏾🌅 hello 🤗 how you doing your still working with the roosters, chickens ,ducks and gooses just feeding them awesome job 👏🏾🫴🏾🔜🫵🏾🌹🆗💬🤔👐🏾🤲🏾👍🏾🤓😏
Wow, You have quite the collection of birds for sure. They are very cute I think. We haven't had any chickens or anything like this for years. I really enjoyed them too. Gee Thanks for Sharing MOLLY. 😊
I thought I would have problems but no one ever took anyone at night or got into the run that we could see. I think our dogs scent keeps most predators away. We have had many different versions of this coop with a top and it hasn’t been a problem for us yet. The day time is the problem with eagles and hawks. But I would rather them have a good life roaming around and one bad day than to have them locked up.
what a beautiful back drop too, all that snow you're probably used to it but Australian here so snow a long way from common, if you're ever short of ideas I would be happy to see more of your natural environment, thank you and keep up the good work 🙂
Hey there, don’t ever feel bad about asking questions! We do eat duck eggs. I primarily have the ducks and chickens for egg laying and pets. When it’s necessary for one of my girls or a drake or rooster has to have their “one bad day” we do honor them by eating them. I named my little homestead “ Best life farm” because everyone living their best life until their one bad day.
Us Canadians say sorry a lot. Best Life Farm does appear to be a pet sanctuary but that's a lot of feed for not reaping the benefit of the occasional feed. Very practical and thanks for sharing. @@BellsFarming
Rats are around. The birds eat all the food everyday. So there isn’t any out overnight. But I see some signs of rats occasionally. If I see to much I’ll intervene
